Growing up, Sheldon was treated like a genius & not a kid by his family. Only MeeMaw remembered he was a child. The other episode I love is when Amy made Sheldon his MeeMaw's cookies for Christmas & he said, "They taste like her hugs." Can you imagine the isolation Sheldon must have felt growing up, especially because his twin Sister, Missy, was nothing like him & always made fun of him? Small wonder Sheldon had no idea how to have interpersonal relationships with people. Penny showed Sheldon how to have friendships & to show love to people, by her example.
Jim's acting in here, it's one of his best ones, no wonder he won four Emmys and a Golden Globe. The reaction, the trembling, the lip quivering, the crying, the overflowing emotion and happiness; he totally nailed it. 😍💟👏👏👏

I still have no idea how Jim Parsons, upon hearing he possesses one of the crucial ingredients for a Do-It-Yourself Nimoy, made the color drain from his face. And that awkward giraffe-mating hug is really heartwarming without being too sappy.

The acting here is so great, the way Jim Parsons conveys Sheldon's unable to focus and remain his control, through blind patting for the chair to sit down. It's absolute gold.
I love this too. I couldn't help but have it a little bit tarnished when I saw at 4:24 where the gifts on the side of the chair and the one that fell in front of the chair disappeared as Sheldon is going in to hug her. He did step around them at first, but they are clearly missing as the 'screen shot' happens. But still very touching.

Them getting Mark Hamill to officiate Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. Hubby and I just watched the show though again, and were talking about how many WONDERFUL guests the guys had on the show. I think the Bob Newhart stuff was about my favorite, always thought he was a comedic genius.
This shows that Dr Sheldon Cooper does have emotions. He just doesn't care about them.

Jim Parsons' performance really sold Sheldon's reaction. He looked half a second away from a panic attack or bursting into tears which makes this gem of a scene more wholesome😅
The acting here is so great, the way Jim Parsons conveys Sheldon's unable to focus and remain his control, through blind patting for the chair to sit down. It's absolute gold.

I love this too. I couldn't help but have it a little bit tarnished when I saw at 4:24 where the gifts on the side of the chair and the one that fell in front of the chair disappeared as Sheldon is going in to hug her. He did step around them at first, but they are clearly missing as the 'screen shot' happens. But still very touching.
Sheldon was NOT prepared for Penny's gift! That made me laugh 🤣
In an interview, Kaley Cuoco said that when she first read in the script that 'Sheldon' was going to hug 'Penny', she actually cried. 😊💗
