I dont think i could have found a better video that reviews this album.The whole time watching this video i was just nodding my head and agreeing with everything Dom had to say. Great way to sum up the album, well done. By far their greatest album yet, its everything i love from Lamb of God with shit they have never done before. Amazing album, amazing video!!!!
Randy really used his voice in great ways, from overall great great use of vocals in King Me to the cleans of Insurrection. I also think that the bass riff during the breakdowns in The Number Six are awesome. Really good. Strong album.
So many bad ass songs but visitation has to be my favorite... Such a powerful, unique chorus to it... Not to mention Chris on the drums is insane and the guitars are brutally fantastic.
when he's talking about them being the same , annoying when people say they sound the same every album , well yeah , its their sound and style , Slayer , they sound the same , thee off scale random solos , ac/dc , rock chords and pentatonic solos , but it works and they are just sticking with what they do best and its rocking Been so hyped for this album for months !
This is an amazing album. To The End is probably my favorite track, but straight for the sun is an AWESOME song. This is just one of those albums that you can listen to front to back, and not feel that it lacked in any area.
You, Really put this album over for me. I'm ''acquiring it'' as I type this, and I cannot wait to listen to it at work, and I just might break the chain of not buying music after about 5-6 years, and purchase this album.
I can't believe he just glossed over #5, 'the undertow' so quickly. I think his exact words were 'it's good'... That song is the best, most raw and badass song of the album, from start to finish. Nobody can not like that song, it's got everything.
@modplugrad 'bloodpumping', Haha!, Agreed sir. Yeah, I had that album in my car for months, after I got it. It doesn't get old. And even the songs that I skipped over initially are good (#5 - 'Fake Messiah' comes to mind) Anyway, glad I could help out.
Pre-ordered the special edition that comes with the live wrath tour disc, it's like killadelphia, but better 'cause it's got sacrament and wrath tunes in it :D Everyone should get that shit!
When I say the album is almost all one tempo what I mean is most of the song's riffs are used repetitively whereas the older albums had riffs with differentiating time signatures and tempos that went from doom metal to thrash. The new album is very full on, it gives me no time to breathe lol.
I really liked Wrath, for some reason no one liked it, it was a VERY technical album, and i love that kind of music, especially "we die alone" and "shoulder of your god" such great songs.
@MetalJunky009 I'm in the same boat, heard it, but still planning on buying it. Give credit where it's due. But you've got it all wrong, number 5 - Undertow, is BY FAR the best track. That chorus is pure punishment. The musical equivalent to a steal toe boat kicking your face in like a pumpkin.
@SpartanCarver I do, but the sound for Burn the Priest was more on the death metal side, whereas with albums like Sacrament, Wrath, etc, it's all the same exact riff, whether backwards, sped up, slowed down or exactly the same. It gets rather boring rather quickly. When it burns down to it, I'd much rather have Dirge Within make a new full-length album.
@chadgarland Pretty sure that's just about every band. They'r the best when they're unknown and hungry for the fame. Once they get that fame the drive to bust ass and churn out ground-breaking shit is for the most part lost. I've heard the new album, it's badass.
@musadrumz Yeah, I hear a lot of people shit on Wrath too, I fucking loved that album. I had that disc in my car for months after I got it, and still throw it in regularly. I just didn't get bored of it. Of course, the new one will be hogging that space for a bit...
Another great comparison about the double standard of "same-sounding" bands is how Slayer can released the same shit over and over again and be praised yet Lamb of God get shit on.
@Illumirage All I know is that he fights.. Never watched him in action, but I saw where he had posted a song and I figured I'd listen to it. LOL, I love how you had to clarify that you've already been laid.... what a nerd. I guess I've fallen out of the loop from listening to screaming, metal bands... it use to be cool, but I guess I just don't like it anymore. You can keep listening to it if you want.
@Illumirage Well, it's my opinion... I mean, an album with that many songs and to have only one song that was decent just pisses me off... I felt like I was listening to Trivium's sorry excuse for their new album. And saying I "straight up don't like it" is the only way I can describe my feeling towards it... or I guess I could just call it a waste of my anticipation.
@Jblaylock777 I like every song besides Guilty. I think their new album is just as good as the previous two. They are the closest thing to Pantera since Pantera :)
@HabeasMortis I haven't listened to it yet. And don't particularly like what's called Emo Music nowadays. But if this is the only reason why you hate the track and say you can't look past it ... that there is "an EMO lyric" ... wow, that just has to be the most narrow-minded thing I've heard in a long time ...
@modplugrad Get the album 'Wrath,' by LoG. Better than Sacrament in my opinion. Look up the song 'everything to nothing' from the Wrath album, should give you a taste, awesome breakdown, badass solo and some absolute shredding at the end. Shit, here you go... /watch?v=qc-SkLiVVuc
@Illumirage Grace is not the best LoG song, imo its the best song on wrath. I probably couldnt even name the best LoG song just too many awesome one's to choose from.
@jkcyrus I could see saying it's not their best, but to say you straight up 'don't like it' is kinda stupid. Just sayin'. I think I like Wrath better but that isn't to say I 'don't like' Resolution.
@VoidiFOpened1 Resolution shits all over Wrath, and the version that was leaked was really poor quality. He is right, all tracks kick ass. Wrath only had a handful, but was overall a weak record.
I love Lamb of God but doesn't anyone think the new album is almost all one tempo. The riffs and composition are no where near as creative as pre Sacrament stuff. 11th Hour mmmmmm.
Now this album has been out for over two years I think this may be LoG's best album. Certainly their most underrated.
This was posted on my birthday... best news/present ever! LOVE LAMB OF GOD!!!
Good, honest, no bullshit review and commentary.
Never heard of Dom Lawson before, but I'm keeping an eye out, good man.
I still come back to this review, one of the only critics that gave it its due
Awesome review. Have heard it too, this review really nails it, especially talking about Randy and his unreal vocal performance on this album
Great review, it's got me excited about the album. You even almost smiled at the end.
I dont think i could have found a better video that reviews this album.The whole time watching this video i was just nodding my head and agreeing with everything Dom had to say. Bought the album yesterday and I have to say it's amazing. It will take you a few listens to take it all in but once you do you'll love it.
So many bad ass songs but visitation has to be my favorite... Such a powerful, unique chorus to it... Not to mention Chris on the drums is insane and the guitars are brutally fantastic.
Really excited about this album, i never bough wrath for some reason but i think i'll have to purchase both once Resolution is released
when he's talking about them being the same , annoying when people say they sound the same every album , well yeah , its their sound and style , Slayer , they sound the same , thee off scale random solos , ac/dc , rock chords and pentatonic solos , but it works and they are just sticking with what they do best and its rocking

My new years resolution was to buy Resolution, and now so it shall be almost indefinitely! :D
I bloody love his reviews
I tend to just wait for Dom to review something before I decide if it is worth checking out.
pre ordered this on itunes.... SO FUCKING AMAZING! I cant stop listening to it its so damn good!
Upon 1st listen I am NOT blown away but I am gonna spin it a few more times.....I like the direction thou upon 1st listen.
I love how he calls out all the metal hipster "I was into them before it was cool! Blah" idiots. Love it. So stoked to hear Resolution.
I can't believe he just glossed over #5, 'the undertow' so quickly. I think his exact words were 'it's good'...
That song is the best, most raw and badass song of the album, from start to finish. Nobody can not like that song, it's got everything.
I can't wait!
The best album review i've seen so far.. oh and go buy the album ppl!! they deserve it!
@modplugrad
'bloodpumping', Haha!, Agreed sir. Yeah, I had that album in my car for months, after I got it. It doesn't get old. And even the songs that I skipped over initially are good (#5 - 'Fake Messiah' comes to mind) Anyway, glad I could help out.
Shit, I live in Virginia and I didn't even really know of Burn The Priest. I need this CD NOW!
Pre-ordered the special edition that comes with the live wrath tour disc, it's like killadelphia, but better 'cause it's got sacrament and wrath tunes in it :D
Everyone should get that shit!
DOM your awesome man!
IM SO STOKED!
@laythistorest1712 Where did you find this?! It's not showing up on their website.
Love the album, it is their best yet!
@modplugrad Thank you for spelling "than" correctly.
When I say the album is almost all one tempo what I mean is most of the song's riffs are used repetitively whereas the older albums had riffs with differentiating time signatures and tempos that went from doom metal to thrash. The new album is very full on, it gives me no time to breathe lol.
As The Palaces Burn was and always will be their best album.
I really liked Wrath, for some reason no one liked it, it was a VERY technical album, and i love that kind of music, especially "we die alone" and "shoulder of your god" such great songs.
@MetalJunky009

@Elektrokoustik he doesn't mean that they weren't good, he means that nobody knew who they were unless u lived in the RVA area... (for the most part)
i fuckin want this album NOW!!!!!
i dont know if you read these comments but can you review the new eluveitie album when it comes out
Finally someone who says Grace is the best song! I fuckin love that track.
For me Resolution is the best record the have put out for me with Sacrament as a close number 2
Ahes of the wake is my fav album, it just sounds more genuine than the others, but I loved resolution i liked it better than sacrament
This video just popped up on my news feed. I don't know who you are, but you are fucking smart.
finally a good review of this album
the number six and king me are the best songs!
amazing album
Burn The Priest is badass!! To hell with this review!!
Can't wait for it!! Wrath disappointed me tbh.
"it's not all the same you're an idiot shut up" hahahaha love it
@hoodmatix burn the priest is early lamb of god they changed there name when they got signed
@chadgarland
Pretty sure that's just about every band. They'r the best when they're unknown and hungry for the fame. Once they get that fame the drive to bust ass and churn out ground-breaking shit is for the most part lost. I've heard the new album, it's badass.
@Illumirage Oh my god, fuck! I love The Undertow too! The best song on Resolution, for sure! Mark's solo fucking rips.
Dom should do all his reviews in a new location. Next time, on a boat in the middle of a lake!
@musadrumz
Yeah, I hear a lot of people shit on Wrath too, I fucking loved that album. I had that disc in my car for months after I got it, and still throw it in regularly. I just didn't get bored of it. Of course, the new one will be hogging that space for a bit...
Just don't be hypocrits, the whole pre-production album is on TH-cam...
this album was fucking epic, if only I had the money to go to fucking download....
to each their own, but I prefer Ashes of the Wake and As the Palaces Burn over Resolution.
one day, Dom is going to reveal its all recorded in front of a green screen by a professional film crew.

I guess I've fallen out of the loop from listening to screaming, metal bands... it use to be cool, but I guess I just don't like it anymore. You can keep listening to it if you want.
@MohaaVeteran EVEN MARK MORTON! Oh well that has changed my own personal opinion completely.
@BleedingRoseOfficial 3:30.....nuff said
i think ashes of the wake is a pretty good album
@misusedcrayon They also changed the name because the brought willy on.
@Jblaylock777 I like every song besides Guilty. I think their new album is just as good as the previous two. They are the closest thing to Pantera since Pantera :)
Great review. And he's right, no one was fucking into burn the priest, I hear that garbage all the time. It does not make you cool. End of story.
@MsCumdumbster who the hell are you to say what album is the best?? it's a matter of taste.
ha ha spot on about Burn the Priest
@KillThrill103 Even people in VA were like "Who? Oh that's cool I guess".
@BleedingRoseOfficial You do realize BTP and LoG are the same members right?And BTP only had ONE album, of course it was "original".
"I dont know if it's been leaked yet"... 'Ahem' Who we kidding?
I'm SO FUCKING PSYCHED for this album now!!!!!!
"No one was into fucking Burn the Priest" lmao
@Razorback613 I hope you're being sarcastic here. This is Lamb of God.
@WNxXcutioner Hahaha, I see what you did there :D
@HabeasMortis I haven't listened to it yet. And don't particularly like what's called Emo Music nowadays. But if this is the only reason why you hate the track and say you can't look past it ... that there is "an EMO lyric" ... wow, that just has to be the most narrow-minded thing I've heard in a long time ...
@killer20072001
Grace is good, but 'everything to nothing' is probably the best LoG song.
AMAZING ALBUM! i like burn the priest :P
I'M SO FUCKING PSYCHED HE IS OUTSIDE!!!
@MsCumdumbster
What is?
@modplugrad
Get the album 'Wrath,' by LoG. Better than Sacrament in my opinion. Look up the song 'everything to nothing' from the Wrath album, should give you a taste, awesome breakdown, badass solo and some absolute shredding at the end. Shit, here you go...
/watch?v=qc-SkLiVVuc
Thats a sunny day in england? Lol. He should see Australia
@rjbzzr400 That utter bollocks there mate. All one tempo? Have you even heard it?
@ArchetypeFlo dude hell yeah everyone keeps calling lamb of god metalcore FUCK THAT!!!!!! lamb of god is GROOVE METAL!!!
For me Wrath and Resolution are the best, but I disagree with you on Ghost Walking, I really don't like that song.
FUCKING 8 MORE DAYS
@Illumirage Grace is not the best LoG song, imo its the best song on wrath. I probably couldnt even name the best LoG song just too many awesome one's to choose from.
@jkcyrus
I could see saying it's not their best, but to say you straight up 'don't like it' is kinda stupid. Just sayin'.
I think I like Wrath better but that isn't to say I 'don't like' Resolution.
absolute fucking beauty! i cream my pants everytime i hear this record.
NO ONE WAS INTO FUCKING BURN THE PRIEST! hahahahahahaha
Resolution is fucking monstrous. No,seriously\m/
Heath Ledger?
@krthkh i thought so too, only 3 good songs for me
Burn the priest was great
@xCorby94 lol I think you're part of a minority group there. Even Mark Morton loves AC/DC!
@VoidiFOpened1 Ouch?
@VoidiFOpened1 Resolution shits all over Wrath, and the version that was leaked was really poor quality. He is right, all tracks kick ass. Wrath only had a handful, but was overall a weak record.
