I was "served" with a CST5 bc Corksport literally ran out of #4one an they ve recommended me to just take it i won't regret it even though I wouldn't have my motor build for now..the only thing I ll have to add on top of all suportive parts is essential to add an aux fuel which I won't be able to do for quite a while ..to try to make the best use out of this turbo say 450hp and 370tq if that wud workout
nice video! Iam currently running garrett gtx 3071r with a 1.06 housing. Also spools pretty responsive from 3800 and above, dont have any issues daily driving mine. Next plan is going to be port injection. currently running 444bhp and 530nm of torque at 106% injector duty cycle lol. Turbo's are such personal... it al depends on the goals the person has. I wanted a little more laggy power as i don't want to much wheelspin lower end in gears so thats why i choose 1.06 housing. also capable of making a little more then the .84 housing. ( power goals are around 550 - 600 hp range )

Hey Alex, good stuff bro, keep it up 👍. One question for you, who's the guy who makes the shift cables kit for the speeds?
That’s not break up that’s the external wastegate screaming to make sure excess exhaust gasses leave before getting to the turbo to maintain boost control .
@@SpoolingUpPerformance your partner with Graveyard was worth the wait, I respect the grind youre putting in outside of the videos to drop the cash that you are for all these projects!! Love it dog
When using the formula on Garrett's website to figure out the PR and MFR for my HP goals, it seems to work best for V8s'. I want to figure out what I need for my car (4cyl 2.0) which is 122ci, and it ends up giving me a high PR of like 3.6 to almost 5 with only 40ish lb/min
I am a fan of Garrett turbos to be honest... So I have a gen2 GTX3071R on my 2008 3MPS (mazdaspeed3 gen1) and a GTX2867R gen2 on my CX7. These both spool up on the mid 2000's so the drivability is excellent. Because the 3MPS is FWD (FTW!) I actually had to tune out the too quick boost ramping in the low 3000rpms. To be honest these are perfectly sized turbos for this platform and for
Just wanted to know what kind of power you were running with the cx7? I have the same turbo in an mps but I'm a little concerned about the longevity of it at the current power level
@@anthonycamillos3719 It takes about 23PSI of boost to push in 305g/s of air. At 10-11 degrees of timing at 6000rpm that's about 320-330bhp crank which may seem a bit low, but I'm pushing this through the two factory cats which is also a bit extreme because of the heat on the exhaust side and the effort on the valve train. I'm pushing it that much only because I have two spare motors. If you are concerned about the longevity, well, I've had a GTX3071R gen1 on my 3MPS first and I managed to crack the ringlands on the factory engine only when I upped the rev limit from 6700 to 7000 on 100% pump gas. This is the reason why I recommend adding a WMI kit which does wonders... I helped tuning a guy from Germany and we've got him to 392bhp by only injecting water (no alcohol), and a guy from New Zeeland who was also injecting alcohol (50/50 through a 800ml/min nozzle) and we got past 400bhp on a stock unopened engine on a gen2 (3MPS BL).
In the process on building my speed up now. what manley pistons is he running? Im going for the turbo tuff I beams and manley extreme duty pistons but have heard no feed back on them really. The big thing im researching is a good piston ring end gap. Found some numbers but it is hard to get some answers on what others are running on built motors. The Channel makes me push for more. I love the content it's what keeps me motivated on my build.
Thanks so much for commenting ! Those are perfect pistons and rods to go with ! I’m my eyes overkill on rods and pistons is not always a bad thing , it’s piece of mind that I can beat the bag out of the car and know the internals will handle it
@@SpoolingUpPerformance overkill doesn't really exist when tuning high hp numbers right? Indeed its a piece of mind. Got i beam rods and plat pistons manley both... just to be sure that stuff can handle the power i want
@@SpoolingUpPerformance Thanks so much for the reply. as for piston ring end gap if you ever happen to go over that in builds that would also be a nice video, I know its probably not a hot topic to all but even a simple go over on what your running at what your build goals are might help others out that cant seem to find solid info or help.
