    I did the resonator delete yesterday on my '16 GT350 and it was definitely worth it. Better throttle response and a "shit ton" louder above 4000rpm. Still able to keep the sound under control with the baffle being closed but crazy monster sounding when open and stepping into it. I used quite a bit more fuel because I stayed in the power band just to hear it. Lol. I would definitely recommend this simple and effective tune.

      Christopher Bales it’s incredible. The biggest difference for me is in the “bark.” With the resonators, sport/track mode sounds great, but caged. Without them, you get a really aggressive “bark.” You can hear more of the explosion happening.

    I must be the ODD MAN OUT !!!!!
    Because i preferred the car with them in , i am old though , but my ears work fine as does my brain , i cannot say the same for the rest of my Body , I'm like a Car that has failed it's last 7 years M.O.T and the owner couldn't afford the repair bills and left me in an Old Barn to Rot away.
    Don't feel Sorry for me , God certainly will not , all i will feel is His Boot kicking me in the Pit.
    And his words ringing in my Ears......................You thought more of that Shelby GT350 than you did me , now begone with you .
    No i screamed , that's not True , every Time i gassed it i shouted out ...........MY GOD !!!!

      Hehe. I can totally see the perspective, Paul. Without resonators, there are times I felt bad leaving stop lights because of the noise it made. That said, once it became a track only car, I don't mind as much :)

    Great video man! Definitely looking forward to deleting my resonators as well, but I want to get a before and after video like you did. What camera/mic did you use to record the sound because the sound doesn't come through very well with my GoPro

      90db day? That sucks. Had a buddy just pass sound using the exhaust valve defeat plugs + laguna pipes. Bit a bummer, though. Not hearing the exhaust in this car ruins a bit of the fun

    I'm debating on doing this, but with a shifteck x pipe or the corsa x pipe. I saw you just had a straight pipe welded and it sounds pretty nice. I might just do that as it saves like 300 bucks and sounds similar in my opinion!

    Completely unrelated but how does your radar detector work with no wires? Is it wired into the mirror? or tucked? Ive been wanting to do this but have held off.

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Trevor Fitch I made my own mirror tap by taking a old phone cable and cutting it to be about 6in long. I separated the wires on the cut end and added mini d-sub pins to the ends to act as the pins that I could push into the back of the mirror. Cost about $1.50 and took about 15 mins. It's pretty slick.

  • @jmclax2

    How far away do you think you were when registering Db level for the drive by? I ask because some tracks near me have db limits and that would be way over the allowed limit to run at those venues.

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe 10ft at the most. Most tracks measure at 50ft, so it would be a few DB quieter. I'm planning to do another drive-by at 50ft to see. I have a couple track days coming up that definitely won't pass me at 111db :)

  • @kingofzero
    @kingofzero 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The stand still rev sounds better with resonators. The drive by sounds better without.

    Sounds better with resonators and baffles closed. A close second is with resonators and baffles open. Sounds so junky without resonators. Note to self, when I redo my exhaust I'm keeping resonators as a part of it.

  • @tdoom2421
    @tdoom2421 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What did you use to replace the resonators? Ford performance, corsa, straight pipes, etc? I'm debating on doing this as well but I'm afraid to lose some of the character in favor of decibels.

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I cut out the resonators and just welded in straight pipe. Trust me, you don't lose character - you gain it. I just got back from driving the cars at Track Attack and I had forgotten how much more "bottled" the stock exhaust sounded. That said, no resonators is LOUD for street cruising through neighborhoods/civilized areas to my ears. But then again, I know some folks don't feel that Corsa attack systems are loud enough. So it's subjective.

    Any drone increase when taking out the resonator?

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brandon Kent nope. In normal would it sounds no different. In sport mode it’s obviously louder, but not anymore “drone.” Just take what you hear in sport and make it a good deal louder. Doesn’t really make much interior noise until 3k+ rpm

  • @christiansendra3610
    @christiansendra3610 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What do you think sounds better and how different is the sound?

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      christian sendra I personally love the sound of it without resonators. I love the rasp and uncorked nature of it. However, the stock sound with resonators does sound a lot more acceptable and "refined" if you will. Some will like that. However, since you can open or close the exhaust valves, I think it's a no-brainer. It is a bit loud for hooning on the street though. It sure attracts attention on the track tho

    • @christiansendra3610
      @christiansendra3610 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man for the response. I just got it done today and agree that it definitely "uncorks" the sound. I miss the bass a bit but the added volume and tone is very menacing. I noticed that heel toeing is a whole other experience. Before it had a nice deep rumble while Heel toeing. Now it barks sharply. Even if you are doing it moderately. Going to take some getting used too and thank god for the exhaust flap switch. It makes a night and day difference and glad to have the option to quiet her down a bit. Otherwise, it might be just too aggressive as a daily driver.

    • @christiansendra3610
      @christiansendra3610 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      had it done today. Sounds amazing! Higher pitched and louder no doubt but very exotic and meaner. Fits the car perfectly. Like the extra bark it has to get cell phone using morons attention. :)

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right? I love it. Before the tone is great, but after, the exhaust has so much bark to it that it scares people. Every time someone asks me to rev it, they jump when you hit the throttle. It's an awesome mod for sure.

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is just cutting out the factory resonators and welding in some straight piping. The Corsa delete replaces the factory x-pipe and makes the sound a *tiny* bit deeper/less raspy.

      This is just straight pipe that was welding in in place of the factory GT350 resonators. Had a local exhaust shop do it for about $80.

    How bad is the drone without resonators? Is it livable?

    • @honeybadgershenanigans
      @honeybadgershenanigans  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't experience any drone. I wouldn't worry about it. The voodoo has such a unique sound, it doesn't drone. Luckily.
      The only time I'd say it's a bit rough is taking off from stoplights "briskly" it's loud and sometimes I feel bad for other cars. But normal mode is no different.

  • @juanricaud2142
    @juanricaud2142 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love it. Really allows the car to be obnoxious. I would not recommend it if you want to drive in sport mode ALL the time and have a conscious, though. It's really loud IMHO. Great for track days and Sunday drives (and hooligan driving, of course!). But it is a bit rude IMHO for everyday driving. Luckily normal mode sounds no different.
