  • In Thailand, the Constitutional Court has ruled that the country’s leading opposition party - the Move Forward Party, victorious in last May’s elections - has attempted to overthrow the constitutional monarchy by proposing to reform lèse-majesté law, also known as Section 112, the infamous article of the Thai criminal code which imposes heavy penalties against anyone critical of the monarchy. Our correspondents Constantin Simon and Matt Hunt were at the court in Bangkok to report on this highly sensitive verdict which puts the future of democracy in Thailand back in an uncertain position.
