    This episode is just one of the best.
    We had : The battle right into with the inquisitors, Ahsoka’s holocron showing us Anakin along with the backstory of what happened at the end of the Clone Wars, heading to the Jedi Temple. Everyone going there way: Kanan to his Jedi Knight trial, Ezra to talk with Yoda, Ahsoka’s vision about Anakin’s turn. Along with that with the Inquisitors arriving at the Jedi Temple and discovering the truth about it. They open the temple , causing it to start crumbling at first, while the other 3 find there way together. Ahsoka sees Yoda on her way out. The inquisitors enter the temple, face the Temple Guards (thru a Force Vision), the 3 talk about Malachor, and finally Vader arrives at the Jedi Temple, ending the episode with his Breath.

There isn't a way to have a uniform mask that for a role like the Temple Guard until there are other members of their species present as Jedi to make masking their identity possible.
      It's not about the limitations of the design of the uniform at all. It's about how you create that type of obscurity with a uniform. If you had single Wookiee & Jawa Jedi, their height alone would identify them as a Temple Guard even though they could hide everything else easily with those same humanoid uniforms. That's why uniforms are only able to obscure identity within a group that already shares those individuals' general characteristics - because it only masks identity.

      @smiddlehurst1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I've said it before and I'll say it again: taken as a whole Rebels is at a higher level of story telling than Clone Wars. Sorry, wait, correction, that's assuming you exclude S7 of CW which really isn't the same show IMO, entirely different rule set for that one thanks to the budget. Rebels hits the ground running, has very few bad episodes and makes you care about an entirely new cast with nothing but cameos linking you to the films. Clone Wars is *really* hit and miss in the first couple of seasons and has the benefit of not only a central cast largely taken from the films but a war setting which allows spectacle to carry dodgy plotting on occasion. Put it this way: I've now lent the complete boxsets of both CW and Rebels to five different friends over the last few years. All of them prefer Rebels and two didn't make it past CW season 2 before losing interest (one has since forced themselves to do so purely thanks to Ahsoka in Rebels). Completely understand why someone would go the other way of course but Rebels definitely ends up under-rated by a lot of CW fans for..... well, not being CW.

    • @StupidWeb
      @StupidWeb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@smiddlehurst1 personally, I think the only reason you could think Rebels is overall better than CW is because CW is so much bigger in terms of episodes. It throws so much at the wall, and by season 3, there's really no bad arcs (except the droids arc, and mace and Jar Jar in Season 6(you can also say the Martez sisters arc, but that's a fine arc it just didn't belong in the final season)) and most stuck

    I don't think the yoda looks that bad. They just tried to make it look more like him in the original trilogy. With their low budget, they probably rushed it.

    I know why Ahsoka was a rarely recurring character in Rebels, and I agree with their reasons for not making it the Ahsoka show, but I do wish we had gotten just a little bit more of her. She was so good.

    I fucking LOVE this episode from that explosive intro where you see Ezra and Kanan getting good at working together, to the reintroduction of Ahsoka to Matt Lanter as Anakin to the temple scenes. Good god did this set the bar for later wok by Dave(season 7 of CW, Season 2 of Mandalorian). A fun reference is both of Anakin's legs and an arm....are obscured by smoke, talking about his fall. Jason Isaacs, Frank Oz, and James Earl Jones all returning, and goddamn Kevin Kiner loves to flex. About Yoda's design, no it's not up to the level of Prequel Yoda.....but it's not as creepy AF as the puppet in TLJ, or ESB. And, Kanan....is now a full knight

    nice to watch your reactions as always
    I particularly like this episode and all the meaning of these messages conveyed through it. These three childrens of the force came and found that despite being into a desperate time... there's still hope in front of their eyes or through others.
    I don't mind the "Rebels" version of Yoda. it reminds me of a yoda that is not yet tormented by the long years of exile on Dagobah and subtly aged the years of its failure against "Sidious". We can feel the weight and the suffering through on his face in his failure and despite everything he keep spreading his altruism and wisdom to the next generation of people who could possibly become one with the force.
    Kiner's song ....tremendous piece of art as always... it got me everytime
    ( don't throw rocks at me ! i don't write fluent english.)

    To my understanding (that might be completely wrong) alot of the designs from Rebels are based on original designs from the original Star Wars before the finished version. I read somewhere that what we have here as Lasat are the original design for wookies. And light sabers are long and thin here because that was the original design, more like a rapier than a broadsword.

    The Mass Shadow Generator from Malachor did not reap the force from people. It was an early gravity generator which pulled the Mandalorian fleet from orbit crashing down into the planet. It also crashed republic ships with officers and soldiers not loyal to Revan. By the time Malachor happened, Jedi Knight Revan had become Darth Revan in all but name. The Exile lost her force connection because she wanted it, so to speak. To shield her mind from all the millions dying around her, she cut her force connection.

    I wish it was explained after the grand inquisitor last appearance on this episode he later appeared in the Comics during EMPIRE Strikes back timeline as force spirit trying stop Luke finding a light saber in a Jedi temple still fighting for the dark side and Vader shows up in disappointment after Luke beat him and Vader tell him he has more use for him basically he is forever his slave

    Talking about how the dark side tainting the force, it reminded of lore about lightsabers. All sith have red lightsabers because the crystal inside "bleeds" due to the dark side corrupting it. A jedi (or at least a good-aligned force user) can "heal" the crystal within a siths lightsaber over time, which turns the blade white due to it being purified in a sense

    Coming to this late, but I've been thinking about the Yoda model and why it seems "off" for many. If the attempt was to pay homage to the original puppet, perhaps it invokes a kind of animated "Uncanny Valley"--it's close... but not quite. Thus, it can be unsettling.

    I agree that Ahsoka/Anakin was a brother/sister relationship, but Ahsoka turned out fine because she already had a father figure - Plo Koon. Anakin had Palpatine. It was a sick relationship that Palpatine built for his own gains, but it was very much a father/son relationship. The only thing that could break Anakin out of his grooming was his OWN son.
