Its crazy that people make such a big deal about carbon fiber. I remember working with it 20 years ago
Maserati's old products were so bad that they continue to affect the brand. The Ghibli was and continues to be Maserati's biggest nightmare, which is why the devaluation is so huge.
Which is crazy because the Ghibli is the sole reason I was introduced to the brand.
Had a Ghibli for 3 years...never had a single problem...one of the most comfortable cars I've ever owned. Then I moved to a 2018 GT sport, and there has never been a problem during the whole time! I get more compliments on the looks and sound of the GT..I belong to a Country Club where there is every imaginable super car out there..all the bag boys say my car sounds the best. Have you ever owned a Maserati???
I completely agree with you, if Ferrari and not Stellantis were involved…it might be a different story.
Doug Demuro's review of the Ghibli was absolute savage and nothing he said was untrue. He definitely had an impact on the Maserati brand.
Just to clarify, the review was over 7 years ago and has 4.5 million views.
Repair bills are going to be more than the car
Sweet!
Lotus Amira is good value as well!
Someone will get a good car. One of the best looking cars on the road.
Hell yeah they will!
So glad you had a chance to review that, you have great enthusiasm and excitement. I hadn't even been looking at this and I used to own an '03 Cambiocorsa coupe. I hope you get a chance to buy an MC20 someday!
It’s still overpriced, these cars are going for $180,000 now. They are going to drop even more. By December these cars will be going for around $150,000
Yet the 296 everybody would be happy to pay 350k starting price for?
That’s some bullshit and everyone is being unfair to the MC20 to decide it’s price.
@@gaara4667I mean not like I have an extra $150k laying around but that’s a pretty badass car for the price. I just feel like Maseratis past is still haunting them and their sales #s.
@@gaara4667 the 296 is arguably in a different class, plus its a hybrid
Needs to be $120k at the most. I’m not paying more for a mc20 than I would turbo s or 570
@@dantem306 key word is arguably and hate only because of your Ferrari bias.
The 296 is another V6 mid engine car like the MC20 but because it’s a hybrid y’all will swallow that 350k starting price?
Part of the depreciation is that you NEVER get the option cost back. 50k in carbon fiber gets you 0 on resale. I bought a 2023 with msrp of 262k - and got a VERY generous trade in price of 185k. Big hit but could have been worse if I splurged on all that carbon. I think trade-in would have been the same 185k.
That’s why you should always consign. When I sold my Ferrari, the dealer offered $210 on the spot, I said no way, and they consigned it. It sold in 10 days and I walked with $250
Why did you get rid of it so soon may i ask?
Great car, beautiful and fast. Just not aggressive enough. It had to go when the 750s arrived.
I was shopping for a new SUV and when offered a $36k discount off a new 2023 Grecale Modena, I couldn’t pass that up. I wanted a Trofeo, but that put me over budget. I’m completely satisfied with that decision of going with Maserati.
Not even being able to transport a piece of carry-on luggage is bit too extreme, even for me.
People think Maserati is unreliable when it actually isn’t
Just like the NSX no one wants to pay that price for a performance vehicle when they could buy a Ferrari Lamborghini or McLaren
Havent seen one on the road in the wild but seen a couple parked at car shows and in person they are insane. Crazy proportions
People rather get a GT3 at the $200k+ new price point. Just wait till the C8 ZR1 comes out, if that has MSRP for $185k that make more sense new then used MC20 assuming you can get allocation and lucky find dealer to sell at MSRP
2022 Model Year? What year is it now?
I’m a Maserati fan, owned my GranSport since 2007. This marque is an acquired taste. If you strike the Ghibli from the lineup….actually, if Ferrari, not Stellantis, had a hand in the Ghibli, people’s attitude might change. Coincidentally, the Ghibli 334 is the fastest sedan currently on the market. I think the MC20 is a breath of fresh air and at some point will really help Maserati. Unfortunately, right now, Maserati needs some time to clear its name and back to greatness. The only feature I dislike are the wheels, very ugly and clunky looking. Everything else is timeless and to the point.
Had a gransport LE also, amazing car. And almost 0 isssues. Clutch lasted 48k miles too
@@mamovakaabsolutely, they are amazing cars. The 4200/GranSport/LE/MC Victory, the MC12 and the Quattroportes are all fantastic cars. Unfortunately, a lot of these cars now suffer from deferred maintenance. If they could get rid of the screens in the MC20 and stick a V8 and manual this car would be unstoppable…but, we know that won’t happen.
@@ChicagoItalian, I agree, if it had a v8 and a manual there would be a waiting list
@@user-ry3xp7rv8m absolutely - and then I’d be lobbying everyone on here to borrow some money 😀👍.
When this first came out I thought of selling my GT3 for this MC-20. Good thing I didn’t. It’s just too much money to take a chance on this car. The GT3 is bulletproof
Talk to me when the $220,000 car is 140k
I can definitely see you owning that car brother, it's definitely you.💙👍💯
HOW RON DO IT
HE NEVER EVER DISAPPOINT 💪🏽💯
Haha ayeeee! Doing my best!!!
There's just so many great cars in this category to choose from. I will say you won't see too many of them. Options are crazy, paying extra for the paint? What's so special about that grey?
Love this car!
Bravo 👏
Gorgeous toy❤
Beautiful exotic Dealers overstocked Sales very slow
I am heading out to buy a Powerball ticket so I can write a check next Monday.
Thanks for reminding me to do the same lol
Found one even cheaper for $174k and 993 miles. Damn
stil too much for that…
@@jrobinson5661 that’s almost half price. Technically, that’s worth it but because of the stupid market these days, yeah, it’ll drop another $25-50 within the year.
At $125,000 I will consider (like I have money for it right now lol)
it's a beautiful car.
😯 no night red light when door is up ?!
I saw a yellow one a few months ago but this ain't no steal the markups for heated seats and all that other crap should be standard on a luxury supercar so that's where the 99k discount comes from. dealer markups as well. this thing is Porsche 911 money and performance
LIKE E-40 SAID DONT BUY A 85,OOO THOUSAND DOLLAR CAR BEFORE YOU BUY A HOUSE NO CAPPING
the same problem as the overpriced Honda NSX at the time
issue: the price cut never saved the Honda
you can never set a wrong initial price
The fact I can’t see the back would annoy me
Deeeeamn this car JUST CAME OUT.........#DepreciatIonKING
What's more insane than the initial price tag, is the generic cheap plastic buttons everywhere. That 30k FIAT group cars also have!
I bet there is a correlation between the depreciation and the interior quality! If it would be more special, it would hold value better. Also the exhaust note is puny. Maserati should have used the 3.8l V8 Trofeo engine in these cars!
Wish I could trade one of mine in for it, Dam
This will continue to depreciate hard. Still going to be Ferrari money to keep on the road (and probably still unreliable). The options prices are silly and will be worth very little on the used market.
Get steel brakes.lol
Buying a maserati is right up there with buying an EV when it comes to depreciation. I pray for the souls that would ever choose this over a 911.
911 is so hum drum design old and boring...mc20 design is beautiful
@@kurtjammer9568 yup that's how I know ur broke. U rather flex then have the way better drivers car with 10x the performance. That's why rich people's garages have multiple 911s and hardly ever a Maserati.
What ever you want to believe..we paid full price for our masi..and I've driven them all..nothing matches its ride, handling and design..I like the porsche but it's just not my first pick..people who buy masi.are not worried about them as an investment.nor should any luxury car brand
Get a corvette or gtr
Good looking car but no space at all. Most cars in this class at least have some storage space but with this you can’t even fit a single suitcase in it and only one cup holder?
It's all used Maserati. I'm surprised they don't pay you to drive it
looks like it sold!
Oh, that's a 3 soul car 😊😎
Haha 🔱
Very cool video, I ll take 911 Turbo S over this one.
Crazy. Don't like the color or the cheap black wheels but def a bargain.
Grey is for sure an under the radar color. I love the MMXX wheels the most right now.
@@RonsRides Was talking about the color of the wheels Ron. It's a trend maybe, but an ugly one.
@@sainta2667I personally like black wheels. Especially if they're carbon fiber wheels. I like the color of the car as well. Very subdued.
Every single one of their models falls off a cliff and this one is no different.
It's a Lovely car wait 6 months it probably would drop 30gs
Love this car!!
Bro why are you showing a vehicle that has been in a collision. That’s why it cost so much less. The paint job has so many imperfections
This is probably one of the worst click bait youtube videos I have ever seen. I was waiting to see some explanation as to why there is such a huge discount on this car, but it never came, all you talked about was the expensive options on the car even though you kept saying you don’t want to get into too much detail about it, ridiculous. Waste of my time
He said it was because it had 1200 miles.
Ron, my friend, try to look at the camera rather than your image when doing your videos.
Thanks for the content!
Thanks for the tip
Ferrari basically selling the same car and nobody bats an eye at the 300k+starting price but the MC20 is overpriced?😕
That’s some bullshit
now you know badge is the thing
still though this is a beautiful car and to me look better than a 296 gtb
@@ahwai82 it is way better than a 296. Only downside that they use to beat the car is the sound.
This looks better and no complicated hybrid technology.
@@gaara4667 its not better than a 296 at all
Maserati needs to partner with Toyota. To get them off that reliability slump
Italian depreciation. Take another $50K off and it’s a nice deal for someone? Good review.
Yet the 296 everybody would be happy to pay 350k starting price for?
That’s some bullshit
@@gaara4667 It’s all Italian trash!
Unfortunately Maserati vehicles depreciate quick , the vehicle will be worth less than 60k in two years.
It's because no one is buying these, especially at that high price.
I'll pass on those Drake's...They not like us!
Very Beautiful 😍❤️🔥
She is 😍😍
Similar car of carguru for 160k .
Utterly predictable. There are too many supercars chasing too small a market. Look at Aston Martin's new offering. There will be as many press cars as actual sales.
The GranTurismo is facing the same fate, and that is Truly great car.
Have no idea why they built this
Double edge-sword because while I get what you're saying, I'm happy they built this!
@@RonsRides Gotta make money or the brand doesn't survive. Or Geely buys it.
um the built it to market the "neutrino". So they can sell their other by saying that it has a "mc20" engine
They're a car company, what the 'F' are they supposed to build..... washing machines?
Only if they can SELL them
Well every car will reach its floor - this one is lower then in comparison a Ferrari or Porsche, but then its the right time to buy. Maserati were terrible in the past, very unreliable and costly maintenance - is that still the case? Now they have access to all Stellantis products, that should be better now.
Maserati are famous for their V8 not V6 and price way to high for a V6.
😂Hearing how reliable everyone’s Ghibli is just epic on cars with under 50k miles . They sound like BMW and Harley fan boy owners.
Buy what you like who gives a shit what people think
The MC20 and Grand Turismo are made out of 40% Fiat and Chrysler parts, two of the least reliable car companies in the world, look at how bad the Ghibli has been for falling apart. If they were the old Maserati’s made out of Ferrari and Maserati parts I can see asking $345,000 for the MC20 and $242,000 for the Grand Turismo, but they are made out of trash parts and have quiet unimpressive v-6 Maserati Engines (not Ferrari V-8’s) the MC20 should be $200,000 and the Grand Turismo Trofeo should be $130,000, with the current mismatch of faulty parts
Wholesale is at 150 typical Maserati. There are already losing so much money that’s wholesale already on a 2023.🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Cheap car but the maintenance gonna kill you so they will make the money back off of it. The infotainment system is trash. Need something like the escalade with a screen that stretch from door to door
U shouldn't even Joke about Selling your Soul
No Maserati is worth over 100K no matter what it has and what it offers
I’m 3/4 the way thru and you have not to,d us why it’s depreciating so fast. It’s just a review. All the 3ay thru no explanation on why it depreciated
actually not "worth every penny" it seems.
Sell your soul ?! For a car ?!
These MC20 have been in a suspicious amount of incidents already. I have no doubt that inexperienced drivers are contributing to all the wrecks. This video did nothing for me.
So they didn’t trust you enough to drive it?
Besides the fact they don't want to put any more miles on it, the insurance for him to be able to drive it would be insanely expensive.
Stop driving cars you can't afford and then you won't have to worry about insurance
Problem solved
The problem with Italian sports cars is reliability.
Epic fail
Two Words = Money Pit
Because they are crap…
change the channel name Bro...Already a Ratties rides...
I did not like driving this car in traffic or moderate to slow speeds. Way too clunky and jerky. It needs a track but not nearly as comfortable (believe it or not ) as my 15 Huracan
