Great video helped me change the drivers axle on a 2008 Jetta with the dsg. I took the bottom three bolts for the lower ball joint out prying on the control arm I was able to pull everything out of the way, that’s all I removed. my axle bolt was a 12 point 24 mm and 10mm triple square on the inside of the axle, the part number I found for the drivers side is mp7346 they crossed referenced that at the parts store. Good luck everyone
Mike, thanks for this. Im having a helluva time counterholding the the axle when trying to torque the transmission flange bolts. When I try and torque them the axle turns.
@@Mikefngarage I have no idea how to do that. But I did come up with a duh solution as soon as I wrote. When rotating by hand in park the right side and left side wheels rotate in opposite directions. Stick a screwdriver in the rotor on the left side and the right side is counterheld in the direction you need for tightening. Just as when loosening you can stick a screwdriver in the left side to counter hold.
Hey Mike just wondering if you ever used Versachem Mega black on TTY bolts for oil housing on Mark6 Jetta TDI? Nobody has them in town and special order and need car back on the road ASAP!! THANKS
I just saw your video on vw right axle. I have a 2013 vw golf did a rush job I didn't mark old axles or save them . Put the car back together took off about a half of block then it stop pulling. You think I got the wrong axle from advance auto
gotta really look at them vw parts are really particular. could be lots of things. is it not pulling now? maybe the axle was a bit tight out of the box and needed to break in a little.

chain vice grips....But I use a electric impact gun and estimate torque amount. Usually I get is really close.

Got any torque specs handy for the 6 screws that go in the Flange?...
- thanks.
I go with tight but not too tight.

Do you use new cv axle to trans bolts?
no they are not torque to yield
I'm needing the axle that they try to give you . My axle is the one that you was describing . I keep receiving the one that is in your video.

What size triple square
Driveshaft bolts are 10 spline
Thanks bro 😎
The axle is a 24mm you need to get a long spline socket think it’s a 12point a regular won’t fit
O'Reilly had this style cv for my 13 jetta tdi.
Pretty sure the axle bolt is a 24mm but 15/16 is smaller than 24mm and it worked for me! Unless 23 fits i would use 15/16
@@ryand5041 it is a 24
Wish I saw this or took the axle off before I bought the wrong one
Do you know the part numer?
What was the part # please
