Great video guys. I am glad I stumbled across your channel. You both are very relatable. And the fact that you notice us and our comments is a huge thumbs up. Suggestion for you guys to cover, I recently started carrying a fixed blade as a EDC instead of the years and years with folders saving the fixed blade for hunting. I have the Bradford and the sheath that comes with it just wasn't for me. Scout carry and a cross draw felt awkward. So I started looking at sheaths I found out this is a whole world on its own. I settled on Delta brand with a UtiClip.

Heck yeah man!! Thanks for watching! Fixed blades definitely have a broader purpose than the stereotype they get stuck with. I think you’ll love how the Ulticlip carries!

Whoever’s a knife maker send these guys your knives for reviews. 3 knives isn’t enough. Especially when these 2 have good chemistry. Great vid!

Great content guys, I've been hunting for an EDC fixed blade for awhile now, living with vaguely worded Canadian knife laws regarding folders, puts a level of legal risk on packing nearly any pocket knife that isn't a two hand open in a gray area that I just can't rationalize since all it takes to ruin a person's life these days is one "Karen" having a bad day...
Question for ya though, Grohmann #2 SS flat ground with antler handle, gentleman's EDC with the right custom sheath?
Any proper EDC in my mind has to be steakhouse worthy, meaning I have to be able to pull it out in a restaurant and cause no more than a conversation in this world so full of fear, lol...

Great video. My 2 go to pocket sized dressier blades are the White River Backpacker Pro and a Bradford Guardian 3. Both classy and in custom pocket sheaths they are great

I'm glad that I found this video. Good content about fixed blades is hard to come by on youtube when you get only your typical bushcrafy and tacticool knives all day. As a traditionalist who owns only fixed blades but has nothing against folders I must say that finding today the right balance of price and quality in the fixed market is very tough outside of brands like Spartan. But that little scandi/japanese had a huge effect on me. I like design above all and this one is special. Love the Rockstead knives of course but I'm poor and worst of allEuropean.

Great review guys. I don't cary a fixed blade but own a little Tops Rocky Mountain bushcraft knife. Those are amazing examples!

Just stumbled upon your channel and am now subscribed. Very first knife that came to mind would match your suit. Benchmade Snody 210 Activator with the carbon fiber and G10 scales and sharkskin sheath. So wish I would have spent the extra $ for it over my 211 wood handle.

You say that YXR7 is semi stainless and the other steel is high carbon steel that is not true,
Rockstead uses 2 different kinds of steel YXR7 high-speed steel and ZDP189 powder stainless steel.
I do not like when TH-camrs tell about things they have heard but have not actually investigated,
a kind of misinformation. Many viewers believe that everything that is said on a screen is facts.
    Thanks for the video

Yep, mistakes happen. Realized it when in review of the video- we do one takes, so we will make mistakes from time to time. Good catch 👍

Another great video. On the Rockstead thinking the stitching on the leather sheath would probably look nice if it matched the handle scales..

Man, I've only seen 3 of y'all's videos so far but they're awesome. I wish I had someone to talk about knives and flashlights with.
I had a question I wanted to ask. I'm looking for a good EDC fixed blade, I live in Oklahoma so no one will blink an eye if it's on my belt, but I also want one that will fit in my pocket if needed. Y'all have any recommendations? I'd like to stay around $100.
So far I'm l looking at the LT Wright Patriot, and the Giant Mouse gmf1 which is a bit above $100 but I love it and it's got a slip sheath.

L.T. Wright is good. I’d also look at ESEE.

Some really cool knives. The gentleman's knife is an interesting category. I agree it needs to have a touch of something special to fall in that category. The twosun ts150 would make a good gentleman's fixed blade. They have a few varients and I believe they could fit well in this category. Great video guys 👍

I have a cool “gentleman’s fixed blade” maybe not quite what y’all are after, but my Case small hunter is a nice small gentlemanly fixed blade which sports a ton of class!

    • @TheClipPoint
      @TheClipPoint  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

After anything that fits the bill. Especially if it’s a Case! A gentleman’s fixed blade is such a nice knife that we’re all ears if we hear of one.

First time watching your channel and surprisingly I was wondering bout a gentleman's fixed blade, I was thinking more of a classic dagger 🗡️ with a nice leather sheath, anyways great video thanks

I think an MKM Mikro in CF scales makes a perfect knife for this category. Almost picked it up for that purpose myself.

Rockstead isn't simply a gentlemans edc, it's rather "a very rich gentleman's edc" lol Lionsteel M1/B35. Manly Patriot with wood handle. TRC Classic freedom. Bark River makes a lot gentlemans edc knives. CRKT PEW are some that come in mind.

@@TheClipPoint Yup, Lionsteel is kind of a higher quality yet, great value company. Simply put, you get more than you pay! Lionsteel M4 for example, has the best (for my hands) handle design, I have ever come across. Keep it up guys

Washington state has an obscure law on the books prohibiting concealed carry of a dirk or other fixed blade knife. Folding is OK but fixed blade must be openly carried. I feel like testing that by carrying my Marine KaBar on my belt while waking in front of the police station.
