The first and third one are pretty much what my hair looks like now (first with my natural waves and the other if I blow dry it straight). I think I might be going bald though as it seems to look a bit thinner than it used to (and my dad is bald so I’d say it’s likely unfortunately). So yeah, I’m enjoying my hair while I still have it and growing it longer...

I hade a hair cut and my hair was like the maniquine and i regret cutting it
I found this helpful but I keep my hair longer than this. I personally don't like layers. I like to be able to tie my hair up when it's windy or the weather is hot as I have thick hair. It's also lower maintenance.
I also love being able to tie my hair up at least into pigtails which means no layering or tapering my hair and the best length range for me is from shoulder length to waiste length which adds the option of wearing it in braids.

I do think "barbers/hairstylists" get caught up in the numbers or guards. Like if you say "fade" they automatically assume zero. Leave some "length" on top of the entire head not just the bangs/fringe. Also hair type as well. Communication meets reality if you don't feel there's an understanding no shame in leaving
