Thanks and good question! It's actually the rigger that is placed further to the stern which could explain why it looks like the foot stretchers are placed too far on the bow. In the single scull, I always try to position my mass in a way that the boat runs as horizontal and smooth as possible throughout the stroke. If the boat 'dips/pitches' too much at the catch or the finish, I'll adjust the position of the foot stretchers until there's a decent balance between the two extremes.
