I still have my 97 corolla/prism, has 158000 on it and has never broke down on me, other than preventive maintenance, perfect for me
I drive a 97 Corolla and its not horrible, just not stylish. This actually is a good looking Corolla for once.

Wow this guy is really great at reviewing, entertaining and informative. Great balance, would love to see him review the new Mazda 3.
The LED headlights are a nice touch. But in about 10 years down the road, expect to see many confused owners and Pep Boys employees scratching their head with Corollas with burned out headlights.

At the right angle the 2014 Corolla looks like a VW Jetta, and the European Corolla looks so much nicer.

the interior is entirely new but the rest of what you said is right but the chassis they started with in 2006 has been modified

A lot of things in this video clash with what I;ve read elsewhere. For instance, much of the interior is carryover directly from the old Corolla, same with the engine in most models. And the chassis is not new, it debuted in 2006.
you sir are correct the auto is still a 4 speed. Kind of surprised they are using a 6 speed manual for the new model maybe an attempt of making the car more sporty.
Looks nice! A lot better than the old ones. I love the LED lights and interior. Should've saved my pennies for this one
I finally drove a CVT 2013 altima 4 cylinder and all I can say... is how silky smooth it was o_O It was nothing I have ever felt before! yes it may not be performance, but the car was getting 31+mpg on mix driving!!! o_O

for once i actually didn't laugh in my head when the corolla was mentioned. imo, this is a step in the right direction. pretty stylish...specially for toyota.

The interior is new but most of the buttons and switches are the same.
2013 nissan sentra sl I think it's worth every Penni 1.8 L engine but overall very satisfied. Let me know you people think.
if they went with an automatic, im sure it would still be a 4 speed...

Hmmmmm, I am going to wait a few more years. The engine choices and the design looks are still not good enough to the industry's standards. The new Mazda 3 looks amazing. Toyota Corolla has caught up in design but other car companies are already moving up. :( I had good experiences with a Corolla because it never broke and lasted forever. I wished Toyota should stop swapping and start creating.
It's a shame they didn't go with a digital speedometer...

buy a mazda instead. just as reliable and the new skyactiv cars get better MPG then anything not a hybrid.. and still have power.. 2014 mazda 3 is at 41MPG w/ 2.0 engine and 155HP while the 2.5 will make 184HP and still makes 39 or 40MPG based on trim... can also be had w/ a 5 door hatchback and looks amazingly better...2014 not the smiley 2013s

My Chevy Silverado is gonna blow this God-mocking little Skittle-eater off the road.
Same old platform with a new shell, drum brakes, 4 speed automatic transmission, 140HP max and outdated suspension. The 2014 Corolla is a shameful dated car that doesn't encourage people to upgrade their car but rather upgrade their standards.
It's a "normal" car like all Corolla suppose to be. Not bad.
