  • After a long stint of playing it safe, Chevrolet has decided to take some risks with its full-size Impala sedan. Sounds good but does this riskier take do right by the Impala name?

I bought this car in white with the gray interior like the one in the video. I just love love this car. Every time I get in it, I think to myself this car is so attractive. It a hardly on the road so when I pull up people stare. Bottom line, it's easy to drive. It a beautiful. I love it. So glad I got it

Does the rear visibility bother you? That's the only thing I dislike about the car

    • @MelissaLona
      @MelissaLona 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

SAAN27 So actually no. When i first drove the car, I rented it and I noticed the rear visibility wasn't at it's best. But once I bought it and started driving it, within a few days I got use to it. Now it's not even an issue. I don't notice it and I don't have any issues seeing out the back. It really don't bother me.

My 2018 is AWESOME!!! I love this car I would definitely recommend this car to anyone in the market for a great looking and comfortable car. The V6 feels amazingly powerful and interior is is like something right out of the future. We traded in our third row SUV and couldn’t be happier. If you’re in the market you definitely want to put this one on the radar.

After growing up categorically hating everything GM did I'm so happy to see them FINALLY making good cars again. This one looks super duper nice, and I'll add that I did about 1,000 miles in a straight-from-the-factory 2011 Cruze Eco (the fuel efficiency model) and have only good things to say about it...the suspension and engine are shockingly sharp and fun, and the interior blows away any of those dreary gray cells that Hondoyota pump out. Totally recommend it.

I just came across this Video Micah. I have the Red Tint Coat (extra cost option) color which is Eye Popping Nice with the Pano Roof. You’re the Only Reviewer that calls the 4 Cyl. “TOTALLY ADEQUATE” that makes me feel better seeing that’s what I have. I do 99.9% city driving. When I bought the 2017 model and took it out I never thought their was a 4 under the hood. It wasn’t until I asked the person who came for the ride ( I don’t call them sales people because they know nothing about the car) He said I think this is a high compression 4 Cyl. That was all he knew. I was so shocked I saw no reason to go bigger engine and I might have if our local dealer had more inventory. But they had 2 base models and the one I was driving. Getting almost $10K off Sticker seemed the deal of the century and the car had almost everything I wanted. I was hoping for the Adaptive Cruise and a few others. But back up camera with Sensors is all I got and use. I love the 4G LTE and using my iPad in the car while driving. (Oops I mean I let others use their IPads when I am driving) And the Sat Nav by Google and Waze , and using just voice when Android Auto is plugged in. The Ride, The Size, the looks, and adequate power and I am averaging 23MPG and can get 36 or better on the freeway. I am happy with it except the depreciation is killer. It’s trade in now is $14K from $35K new. 7000miles. I would of bought a 1 year old loaded model for $19K if I had done more research on this car. But I was test driving several before settling on this. Happy Easter

LOVE my Burgundy 2015 LTZ 2LZ!!! Got it this summer as a CPO. Traded in my Burgundy 2008 LTZ. My '15 has the Black-Leather interior. I'm 6' 2.5" tall, with a longer torso, so headroom in many cars is tight. Even with the big sunroof, I've got good headroom! The BIG surprise is that I can sit in the back seats....WITH NO CROUCHING!! That never happens!!! Plenty of legroom too!!! Trunk is LARGE.
The only option I don't have is the Radar-Cruise. I really like that function in the Wife's 2014 loaded Black AWD Turbo-Regal. Thankfully, my '15 LTZ has the optional 20" wheels, option-code RQ9. They fill-out the wheel-wells better, & I LOVE the look of the bigger rubber. The ride is fairly firm, like my '08 was, but the new one is SO much quieter. Zooming down Interstate @ 80mph is like sitting on your couch. I like the way the console & dash are laid out. I'm pretty good now with my Griot's ROM Polisher, & I keep the paint smoooooth using claybar. I could care less about gas-mileage, but it's pretty good. The 305hp engine accelerates well, especially in the mid-rpm range. I use Seafoam in the gas regularly, and ONLY use Certified Top-Tier Premium gas. E85?!!?!? Oh HELL no!

I talked to a GM rep, I suggested an AWD option for the Impala. I don’t think a twin-turbo V-6 in the Cadillac CT6 or CTS V-Sport is that necessary. The naturally aspirated V-6 has 305 hp. Eventually, we think the newer Impalas will have an 8 or 9 speed automatic transmission instead of the 6-speed.

Will never happen because many XTS customers with that engine like the exclusivity. If the Impala had the same engine, XTS sales would drop, and GM makes more money on the XTS. This is solely a GM financial decision.

Jay Tinsley OMG YES!!! I’ve been thinking the same thing!! Make for the last year for 2020 impala make an SS version with the Twin turbo V6 AWD or RWD for the 2020 last year for that impala. I heard that Chevy was gonna stop making the impalas again. And bring back another car. But I honestly think they should stay with the impala but still bring the Twin Turbo V6 with AWD or RWD.

Recently saw a used one pop up on fb near me and it sent me down this rabbit hole. Rented one a few years ago and no lie, probably the best road trip car i ever drove. I prefer traveling on my bikes, but for a grand tour this sedan was great, and cheap to maintain means it is actually worth owning. Wish it was rwd but that wasn't going to happen. Sadly no awd either, only the buick and cadillac got that

Well damn, finally a video that covers the impala with proper justice. I recently just bought mine, a 2018 premier, and I love it soo much i just wanna watch videos of it on my freetime. This one covered the vehicle in fullest, being the only one that mentions the chrome glow at night on the inside. And with all the safety features, I really don't feel like it will be possible for me to crash the car. It's not exactly what I was looking for at 21 but the Bose surround system is very nice and I feel like this car will stick around for when I have a family of my own with the space and safety, and doesn't disappoint with its V6 at the moment. The remote start with the heated and ventilated seats is a great advantage in Colorado, with some of the coldest winters, and dry heat during the summer

I own a 2015 LTZ 4 cycl. It is great on gas..avg 25 in city 32 on highway where I do most of my driving. This car is big and comfortable. I had an older model 6 cylinder which guzzled gas. I don't mind 4 cyl as I see the price of gas creeping up again. I find myself doing 80 mph on highway and don't even realize it. Mine is silver with black interior...loaded. I am still finding stuff on it that I didn't know it had. The only drawback are the high performance tires which are shit in the winter. Just bought Blizzaks. I would highly recommend this car.

My moms 2013 kia sportage with barley 5k on it was already in the shop twice for engine and transmission issues. Which is surprising for a company owned by Hyundai and everything is overseen by them.

The Taurus is much older and has Fords absolutely terrible Sync system and very dated and dumb ergonomics. The transmission is almost identical to the Impala since it’s a Ford/GM venture.. but have fun paying $3k for the leaky water pump on your 3.5 V6. The last car I had to replace a water pump on was my ‘89 Cutlass way back in the 90s.. and it was $100 and a three beer job.

Insurance company just gave me one of these (premier edition) as a loner car. My thoughts: V6 is quick, the ride is comfortable, the looks are nice, and the front seats are decent...but there isn't enough rear headroom, and the transmission is one of the worst I have ever used.

Personally the Germans are the best on the engineering part since cars like BMW AG (Rolls Royce, BMW, Mini) MB AG (Mercedes, Smart) VW group (VW, Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Bentley, Porsche, Ducati, Sert, Skoda) , and Ford are at least engineered and designed in Germany.

+mohammed1368 If you want rear wheel drive, you can buy the Chevy SS. What is about FWD you don't like? Fact is, FWD makes for a much roomier car. No transmission bell housing, no drive line hump, no rear differential talking up space.

I love the outside of the car, but many parts of the inside look like crap. The steering wheel looks plain and outdated and the center console area by the shifter is some cheap, smooth plastic. The gauges are old school and also plain. The infotainment system looks great and adjacent areas too.
I have the 2015 ford edge sel and the interior is light years ahead. Especially with not only a 8 inch screen, but two, smaller LCD screens right in front of me. I do want the impala though. Very powerful when I drove it and smooth ride.

In 2016, Chevrolet will make the Impala SS in limited numbers. Their excuse will be to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Impala SS trim (the Impala SS was first introduced in 1961). The real reason is to compete with the other big V8 sedans.

Think about it, have you heard the expression I posted in my earlier comment? Nobody says that.
I hear it all the time about Hondas and Toyotas. There's a reason for that. Again, consumer reports and others backup my claims.
PS: Don't even get me started on interior quality in American cars.

Chevy changed the (albeit fake) interior wood grain design in 2016. When watching this vid closely, it can be seen that this is not a 2016 model. I also believe Chevy only put the woodgrain on the 2014 Impala steering wheel - which the car in this video has.
