    Hey james. Thank you for the video which is a big help. How do you smoke test for an emission leak?

      You need to buy a smoke tester kit.

    Thanks again for another Informative Video. I am no longer intimated by my car. I have a 2018 SQ4, same (Interior/exterior) color scheme as yours. Except I have no Paddles! 😞 Otherwise I JUST LOVE driving it. I have mostly pictures sent by the dealer prior to me picking it up. I will take my own pictures and forward to you for one of your upcoming videos. Additionally, I think i would like to get the front/Rear bumpers repainted and the lower skirts as you did. I love that whole car, 1 color look.

      Thanks for like and the comment. The Paddles would have been nice, I love using them. Enjoy the car :)

    Hi James, thanks for the video. I have one ghibli 2014 base. The car becomes hard to start every time right after refill the gas. It spends around 5 seconds to ignite. I am think about the disfunction of solenoid valve. Is it the problem? Where does it locate? Thank you

      Are you talking about the purge valve?

    If your ghibl is a base model the horse power is less than a q4 and ghibi

      Mine is an SQ4. With a JB4. So I potentially have 460HP with the right fuel. On 91 Octane I should have 440 HP

    Can you show the location of the purge value? thank you

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fuel recirculation system on our cars is different than other cars. There is no purge valve. I think that purge function is in the recirculation assembly behind right hand wheelhouse guard.

    I broke the electric yellow clip harness lock that connects to the coil… how do you replace the broken connector???

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need to replace the whole harness. Not easy and not cheap. If the connector will stay connected, you should be ok. But if she all of sudden starts to missfire, you will know why. LOL

    Hey James, question for you. I have 2016 base ghibli. Why does it have less horsepower than the sq4? It has the same engine but different drivetrain. Is it just programming in the CPU?

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the fuel injectors are different also as well as it being tuned down.

    Have you ever had an issue with the car throwing a p0299 code with or without the jb4 at random times throwing you into limp mode? Comes right back on restart. Sometimes throws a code sometimes juat limp mode. Does it with the jb4 disabled as well occasionally. No other issues but this weird occasional issue usually on second startup of the day after getting warm.

      Check for a hole in the rubber coupling hose on the throttle body. If there is a lot oil in that area you know you have a hole in that coupling. Email me at jamesdiygarage@gmail.com if you are not sure what I am talking about.

    Do you know location for crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are 4 cam shaft position sensors. 2 on each side of the engine on the valve covers, one for the intake cam and 1 for the exhaust cam.

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will research where the crank position sensor is, but my guess is right by the harmonic balancer/crank pulley.

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My bad, the crank position sensor is actually on back of engine block, on the passenger (U.S.) side close to where the oil sump meets the engine block. It will be hard to get to I think because it is behind the turbo assembly.

    Hey James I have a code that reads p0087 anyway you can help ? 2015 ghibli

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a code that should be diagnosed at a european shop with experience on the Ghibli. The code means the ecm is reading low fuel pressure in the fuel rail. Could be bad high pressure fuel pump or bad sensor. I cant diagnose it over chat. A tech needs to look at it. Sorry.
