You have to keep trying it until it says too many failed attempts. Then wait one week try again until too many failed attempt. Then wait 2 weeks and 3 weeks and try the same thing. It's a long process that could take months.

Do you remember the account password? Normally if you cannot authenticate directly to the PC using account recovery will eventually send a prompt to the phone.

Hello, can you pls help me recover an old gmail account pls? The old email address is the same email address as the recovery email so whenever it ask me for the security code sent to the recovery email address I dont have the option to access it, since I dont know the password. I do have an access to the phone number I receive the code but it still ask me the security code sent to the recovery email address which I dont have an access to. You will have to keep trying account recovery until it says too many failed attempts. Then wait in between recovery attempts 1,2,3 weeks and try again. It is best to try from a browser where Google may pop up and ask you questions. Try to use the same wifi, internet provider, and previously authenticated device.

When you add a "Recovery Email Address" it is listed under "The Ways we can verify it's you" and is not really part of 2FA. From Google, "Your recovery email is used to reach you in case we detect unusual activity in your account or you accidentally get locked out." Are you sure you activated 2FA? If so, your 2FA options include: Security Key, Google Prompts, Auth App, Voice/Txt Msg, & backup codes. Do you have access to any of these 2FA recovery methods? Any of these can be used to get account access.

It's a good sign that they ask for an email to reach you. It is extremely important that you be patient to this process because it's not an easy or quick effort to recover access to an email account. It did allow me to put in a different number that was not tied to the account. But this process took place over multiple days and was not just a quick fix. It's also recommended that you use the same physical location, same Wi-Fi network, same device, same browser, Etc

Even though you don’t know the number guess at the six digit code. You have to put it in repeatedly until they recovery processes too many failed attempts. After that wait one to three days before trying again.

Account recovery is the only way to recover an account. Try using the information you had originally on the account to recover it. If you're using the same Wi-Fi and internet service provider as well as a previously authenticated device you still have a good chance of getting the account back

Very you're waiting time between failed attempts from 1 to 4 days. Also even though you have to guess it the code go ahead and enter one. You have to try and break Google's routine of asking you the same questions again and again. You can do this by entering a wrong password even if you forgot the password. Be creative. If you're attempting on a previously authenticated device, same Wi-Fi and internet provider at this increases your chances of recovering the account.

You will have to convince Google you are the account owner. You do this by: providing password, logging on with previous authenticated devices, have backup account access (email, backup codes....). Do you know the password that was used before getting hacked?

You have to "engage" with Google at every step. What does that mean? It sends you a code, but you don't have access to the phone where the code was sent. You have to make up a code and put it in. It will be wrong...it's ok. Part of the recovery process is to convince Google you are a human. To do that you have to answer every prompt Google presents in the correct format. The answer does not have to be correct. You have to change your process. What does that mean? If you know the password, but are unsuccessful then choose forgot password, or choose forgot email account....Find a way to get Google to present you a different question, even if you don't know the answer. Reference comment above. You should use a computer browser to recover the account. If it is on a previously authenticated account then use Chrome. If it is not a previously authenticated account, then use FireFox.
Your only course of action is to try account recovery with your password before the account was hacked. If you are using the same wifi/internet provider & a previously authenticated device, there is a chance you could get the account back. Using a browser allows Google to pop up sometimes & ask you questions about why you can't log in. This will take a long time & many hours of effort.

Seems like 5:28 second attempt is still there. Through many account recovery attempts these are some of the most useful things: use same wifi/internet provider, previously authenticated device, try until too many failed attempts (wait at least one week...try again). The more/different information you provide will increase the chance of recovery...forgot pw (use old password), forgot email address...etc. Use a browser for recovery, because after repeated attempts (maybe weeks), Google will pop up and ask questions about your recovery attempt. Answer all the questions. My experience is that when you start getting the squirrely characters you may be getting close to recovering the account. Please tell us how you lost account access. Do you know the password? It's going to be extremely difficult since you have two recovery methods tied to the account, a phone and a backup recovery email and you've lost access to both of those. Is there any possibility you can get the recovery the email account back?
@@68at97 there's no secret way to recover the account. You have to try account recovery as many times as possible until Google tells you too many attempts. Then wait one, two, three weeks and start the process again. Eventually Google May release the account to you, especially if you have a previously logged in device.

I had a question is it recommended I use a PC or mobile phone because on mobile I got asked so put it my old phone number that I don’t no longer remember. and when i click the option of try another way I receive a error message saying I couldn’t provide enough details.
We've had more success using a browser on a computer. This allows google to pop up and ask questions. Answer all of the questions when prompted. Normally when this happens you're getting close to recovering the account.
@@CyberMedics For a friend, we are abroad whose phone got dropped and he doesn't know any previous passwords apparently. We have had to create a temporary gmail account so he has at least some communication on new phone. He didn't get a SIM only phone and data so buggered it really:-(

I do have an access to the phone number I receive the code but it still ask me the security code sent to the recovery email address which I dont have an access to. You will have to keep trying account recovery until it says too many failed attempts. Then wait in between recovery attempts 1,2,3 weeks and try again. It is best to try from a browser where Google may pop up and ask you questions. Try to use the same wifi, internet provider, and previously authenticated device.

Hey .. someone tried to hack my email so I activated the 2-step verification. But the my recovery email is not working anymore. The second recovery email option is the gmail account I am trying to log in to and cannot access it to get verification code to complete 2 step verification process
When you add a "Recovery Email Address" it is listed under "The Ways we can verify it's you" and is not really part of 2FA. From Google, "Your recovery email is used to reach you in case we detect unusual activity in your account or you accidentally get locked out."
Are you sure you activated 2FA? If so, your 2FA options include: Security Key, Google Prompts, Auth App, Voice/Txt Msg, & backup codes. Do you have access to any of these 2FA recovery methods? Any of these can be used to get account access.

It's a good sign that they ask for an email to reach you. It is extremely important that you be patient to this process because it's not an easy or quick effort to recover access to an email account. It did allow me to put in a different number that was not tied to the account. But this process took place over multiple days and was not just a quick fix. It's also recommended that you use the same physical location, same Wi-Fi network, same device, same browser, Etc

Even though you don’t know the number guess at the six digit code. You have to put it in repeatedly until they recovery processes too many failed attempts. After that wait one to three days before trying again.

Very you're waiting time between failed attempts from 1 to 4 days. Also even though you have to guess it the code go ahead and enter one. You have to try and break Google's routine of asking you the same questions again and again. You can do this by entering a wrong password even if you forgot the password. Be creative. You will have to convince Google you are the account owner. You do this by: providing password, logging on with previous authenticated devices, have backup account access (email, backup codes....). Do you know the password that was used before getting hacked?

Each account recovery attempt will follow a different process. Google does this to prevent hackers from automating account takeover. This video spanned a multi week period of recovery attempts. You have to keep trying until Google tells you too many failed attempts. Waint 1, 2, 3 weeks between recovery attempts after failure. It takes a lot of time and effort to recover an account.

You have to "engage" with Google at every step. What does that mean? It sends you a code, but you don't have access to the phone where the code was sent. You have to make up a code and put it in. It will be wrong...it's ok. Part of the recovery process is to convince Google you are a human. To do that you have to answer every prompt Google presents in the correct format. The answer does not have to be correct.
You have to change your process. What does that mean? If you know the password, but are unsuccessful then choose forgot password, or choose forgot email account....Find a way to get Google to present you a different question, even if you don't know the answer. Reference comment above.
You should use a computer browser to recover the account. If it is on a previously authenticated account then use Chrome. If it is not a previously authenticated account, then use FireFox.

Your only course of action is to try account recovery with your password before the account was hacked. If you are using the same wifi/internet provider & a previously authenticated device, there is a chance you could get the account back. Using a browser allows Google to pop up sometimes & ask you questions about why you can't log in. This will take a long time & many hours of effort.

Seems like 5:28 second attempt is still there. Through many account recovery attempts these are some of the most useful things: use same wifi/internet provider, previously authenticated device, try until too many failed attempts (wait at least one week...try again).
The more/different information you provide will increase the chance of recovery...forgot pw (use old password), forgot email address...etc. Use a browser for recovery, because after repeated attempts (maybe weeks), Google will pop up and ask questions about your recovery attempt. Answer all the questions. My experience is that when you start getting the squirrely characters you may be getting close to recovering the account. Account recovery is not always successful. It will greatly depend on the circumstances that led up to account loss. That is why we give clients a detailed questionnaire before beginning the process. You will have to put in some effort to have a chance at recovering your account.
You need to be careful with these guys that are out here scamming this video. People are going to take your money and possibly even manipulate your information to extort you.

Normally under the account recovery there's the option to say forgot password. At that point you can internal password if you know it.

Then wait one, two, three weeks and start the process again. Eventually Google May release the account to you, especially if you have a previously logged in device.

We've had more success using a browser on a computer. This allows google to pop up and ask questions. Answer all of the questions when prompted. Normally when this happens you're getting close to recovering the account.
