@@CyberMedics no gmail, I was successfully able to recover my recovery email id but tried to get my original id and the Google has sent me 30 days waiting period to get the link to recover my account.

@@urmilihin850 you will have to guess that code even though you don’t have it. Enter a six digit code and keep doing that process until it says too many failed attempts.

@@user-pe1ci8yk8z the only thing you can do is guess at the code. Even though you don’t have the code enter a six digit code. keep trying to process until it says too many failed attempts after that wait a certain amount of time and then try the process again.

You keep entering the key and it keeps looping back to the recovery screen?

What device do you have access to where you can recover the account?

This is way more information than you need to just use the key for authentication. Please watch some of our other videos on securing your email with a yubikey. Apologize the video gave the impression they are complicated for securing you accounts.

Don’t think you are hacked, but Google probably still thinks your iPhone is logged in. It will eventually send the code to your phone or backup email. In the meantime just guess at the 6 digit code. Do this until it says too many failed attempts. This process will take a considerable amount of time, but believe you will get the account back. Please keep us updated.

@@CyberMedics I am not happy with my current setup but am also underwhelmed by the offerings of current password managers. Ideally, I'd prefer Browser level password manager security (instead of injecting Java Script to pages, which can be overcome) together with a security key backed anthropy not a master password. There's also a surprising lack of compatibility, e.g. Titan key + Windows Hello don't work. Windows Hello + Android is buggy. Yubikey was not looking to be too standard compliant, and I am guessing they still have their proprietary stuff. Not sure if it's worth it to switch from my current insufficient setup.

@@DavidDLee good Info. Didn’t realize titan keys were not compatible with windows. Hello. We are using the yubi key with Windows Hello pin and it works.

It took us four months to recover this account. You have to keep trying to come recovery until system failed attempts. Have you done that?

@@CyberMedics I'm running as admin. I can't even swap the slots. Don't know what's going on. I don't remember access key Seems like my slot 1 is locked....

When trying to recover my gmail it is keep on sending code to my gmail which I want to recover. I can provide the code from my phone number. The case is my older device is not working and I need to take a new device but cannot sign in because of the 2- step verification issue. Google doesn't provide any verification or any mode to recover. I have been facing the same problem for 2 months already. If you can suggest anything in this case it will be helpful 🥹

If it’s sending the code to the email address you’re trying to recover, then you will have to guess at the six digit code. Follow this process until it says too many failed attempts. Wait 12 hrs to 2 days and try again. Keep us updated

Keep trying account recovery with the information that you know was correct before it was hacked. Using the same Wi-Fi and a previously authenticated device will increase your chances of recovering the account.

Is it possible the bit locker key was stored in a password vault or safety deposit box? Without access to the Bitlocker key you will not decrypt drive.

@@Kmj.5 so you turned Blocker off? Be aware at some future system update or making use of some future Microsoft service could activate Blocker on your computer again.

@@CyberMedics I used the code I found on my Microsoft account and it unlocked... Then I turned it off, so when it turns itself on again, will the key change or it remains the same.

The key will remain the same as long as the Microsoft account associated with the computer does not change. You are using a MS account to log into the computer?

They are asking about a code sent to your lost email, phone, backup email? If you don’t have access to you will have to guess at the code. Keep repeating the process.

First make sure you have a backup of your data. We typically recommend putting it on the cloud and having local copy. After that, yes I’d turn it on and get the keys. You cannot predict at some future date when it will be turned on. You may want to store these keys securely on an encrypted drive or in your password vault.

I have everything backed to external drives. I found out that Windows 10 home edition doesn't offer Bitlocker,so I guess I'm safe from the bug. I also read that on Aug. 13th Mucrosoft issued a patch to fix the problem. Things are good on my end but I do plan to upgrade to Windows 11 eventually and will be sure to write down the recovery keys. Thanks so much for answering my concerns. @CyberMedics

Understand. If you secure your Gmail account with a HW key and generate backup codes the account is as secure as any other mail provider, as long as you don’t give the account open to a hacker.

Passkeys do not require the use of biometric information.

Are you by chance using an iPhone?

Yes I am on the iPhone and I have my email and password but it keeps sender by me a two digit number and says open my gmail to verify it’s me….. but this is the phone im trying to login to

@@DouglassHarvell-p3p I am presuming that you are not using the Gmail application downloaded from the App Store? If you’re using Apples built-in email application to access your Gmail account it is not the same thing. Often will not show you as authenticated, even though previously you were logged into the account.

No I am …… my phone got factory reset but I have the same number I recently changed WiFi connection since I’m at work…… maybe this is why they don’t think it’s me trying to login?!

Yes. Changing the login environment can trigger Google account security check.

The answer is yes. It’s sending the code to the Gmail account trying to recover because you don’t have a back up recovery email on the account. Even though you don’t know the code it’s sending you have to guess the code. Keep trying to process until it says too many failed attempts then wait one to three days and try again. Please see the aggregated recommendations on the pinned comment and the video description for additional tips for recovering your account.

Don’t think the Authenticator code is going to help you get into the account if you don’t know the password. The authentication code is a second factor authentication in addition to your password. You will have to go through the account recovery process to recover the account.

@@CyberMedics Whatever is forced on me. Filing taxes digitally is a nightmare. It takes at least 10 minutes to get in with the second, third and fourth factor required.

The primary objective should be to ensure seamless access to one's accounts from any location, while also maintaining a robust security posture. Some sort of update must have triggered the Blocker encryption to be activated. This could be a bio update or operating system update or any change in Hardware. I just checked my system. And the keys are the same from the command prompt & the MS account. Also validate you are looking at the correct MS account, in case you have more than one.

lol. wish it were that simple. Any configuration changes on the PC system can cause Blocker to be activated. Have you had any direct experience with Blocker good or bad?

@@CyberMedics yea, that's why we run winAME on all critical sub systems and external firewalls to take up the slack then the PC is solid as a rock 100%
