Thanks for your post. Why not just buy the same one for scupper hole support? Seems to me its more stable and easier to manage than dealing w/ straps and such? I just ordered one of those today and was watching your hull repair video since I was impatient and took my new yak out on a hot day yesterday and dragged it along blacktop for 100ft... stooooopid! now I need to repair my hull. I will be waiting for my cart before I take it out again.

In general, the main reason people avoid the scupper hole carts is because over time they place a lot of torque on the holes and cause fracturing in a location that is very hard to access for repairs.

Many commenters warn that the scupper hole carts can damage the scupper hole pipes. Then it's difficult to repair as the crack is deep down that narrow tube.

Thank you! I’m all loaded- got anything for loading on top of Honda Pilot with no tracks on roof- cheap?

I bought this same cart and it rended useless: it is very unstable , the kayak turns over every now and then and it can't be grabbed firnmly to the kayak, slipping continously.

Will not work for Old Town kayaks due to hull design... too low
