Great video, thanks for sharing. I’m a retired off-airport pilot of 35 years. You guys are very professional and thoughtful in your evaluation and execution, good to see it. And out there enjoying what only a few of us get to enjoy. Kudos!
So, it is a Cherokee 180. I didn't believe when its takeoff from that first riverside strip had it being described as a 140. I loved the Cherokee 180 when I flew them back in the 1970's.
The music, the landscapes, and most importantly awesome people. You guys are truly blessed to have one another, Such a passionate and genuine group of pilots. Here's to hoping to we see more! Safe flying guys!
Dude and Dudette!!!! Where the hell ya'll been?? am I the one who's outta touch?? Great to see you both. I will always love the video of your night low ifr into Sitka...I think. Jon keeps saying..."stay in close to shore"..."turn left"....."more left turn"...You guys are the best aviaition Duo out there today. Always good fun.
Thank you guys that put a smile one my face as a jet pilot … this is way fun Very What is America about love it And you men you are the aviation inspiration
This is so awesome! I’m not gonna lie. I would be slightly terrified, especially watching that takeoff on that hard pack that you guys landed on, watching that Cherokee takeoff towards that little Mesa. But awesome stuff!
Atv’d to the Hidden Splendor air strip, then hiked up to the Hidden Splendor mine. I wondered what it would be like to fly into that canyon. Great adventure ❤
@desertdog185 That is possible, I lived there and worked for my Grandmother in the Trading Post, which is no longer in buisness.she was there for 45 years. My Grandfather had a 182 that he kept there and in Flagstaff. I've flown in theree in a Piper a few times but haven't been back there in several years.
Definitely not the same airplane with a bigger engine. Longer fuselage, extra window, completely different engine cowling and much bigger spinner. It’s a 180!

@@FLY8MA nothing at all...as long as you love living in the middle of nowhere hoping you don't freeze to death run out of food or gt eaten by bears....who would even take that into consideration....??
Uh, for clarity, flyiny rural Utah is NOT backcountry. BLM flying yes, but you could have 4 Mercedez deluxe camper vans right next to your airstrip anytime besides the 4 summer months. The word "backcountry" is used in searches for wannabe bush pilots, but there is no bush in Utah. Only a vast pattern of 4 wheel drive roads.
soooper, and i thought jeeps and UTV's were the scourge of the backcoutry. then a bunch of you jackass' flew by. bet your planes are full of drones and every other thing to make my day in the desert a bit LOUDER. the entitled narcissits will always find a way to film themselves while giving NO Fks about anyone else. thanks for sharing here so we know who ruined our hike.

wow so awesome, love the scenery . great flying .
Arizona for the win 🏆
Beautiful place!
But Hite, Hidden Splendor, Happy Canyon are Utah. All strips will download to ForeFlight from the Utah Backcountry Pilot’s Association.
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Hanksville!
Fantastic adventure !
Amazing video and hi from Australia. I have missed your flying adventures together in the 170 :)
Welcome back! Share them around!
That's a 180 , not a 140. Nice video.
Atv’d to the Hidden Splendor air strip, then hiked up to the Hidden Splendor mine. I wondered what it would be like to fly into that canyon. Great adventure ❤
Beautiful place to fly!
11:20 (Cessna 170 lands in the dirt) "boy that was rough". Piper Cherokee with wheelpants- 'What took you so long?"
the speed of sound depends on the barometric pressure and temp =)
You don’t see this in flight school books..!👍😍
That's the idea with our pilot Master Class!
Splendid!
This is so cool.
Yes!
I highly recommend using the Fly Utah books written by Galen Hanselman. You will find accurate locations of these strips with descriptions.
Those are great books!
Nice! 😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Another good one is Navajo Mountain, 04UT, just SW of Page ARIZONA. From there you have Marble Canyon airport which is awesome.
We'll have to check it out! We did end up getting to Marble Canyon in the next episode...need to still check out 04UT
My understanding is that Navajo Mountain requires the chief’s permission. We needed it to fly medical supplies during COVID anyway.

So awesome
Mach number depends on the air desity and temperature. But at sea level on a standard day its around 700mph.
760MPH, 660Kts
17:40 I crash every time i try to land there in MSFS. Nice to see it in real life.
Speed of sound 740mph? Ish? @ sea level
Are those cams on the wings with just cups? add any tape?
Flight Flix mounts, attached with screws
When does the cherokee get the big wheels?
okay, I'd like to get the free ride in Hawaii :P
Hidden Splendor is an awesome place to camp, too. Just don't camp on the runway!!!!
How about "Barely Climbing out of a Box Canyon." 18:05.
Lol
Been there done that before cell phones
Do you guys use 122.75 or 123.45 for air to air
both, just depends where we are at and if one is busy
767 mph
👏👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Umm that’s a Cherokee 180 not a 140… and you run a flight school🤦🏻♂️
Definitely not the same airplane with a bigger engine. Longer fuselage, extra window, completely different engine cowling and much bigger spinner. It’s a 180!
Seriously? This is all you have to talk about? They have a name for your condition.
Speed of sound is approx. 760mph depending on conditions....and you guys are pilots.
Believe it or not, speed of sound can't be found anywhere on an FAA written test
Too bad you added the music I would have enjoyed hearing the engines....
Accident Waiting to Happen that should be the title.
Definitely not STOL pilots.
DON'T YOU FLYING FOLKS KNOW YOU ARE ON THE NAVAHO NATION?
Everywhere we landed was open to the public
My thought exactly!
It's Navajo not NAVAHO.
Lay off the firewater, Larry.

What a PILOT IS this GIRL ‼️‼️
It is just a matter of time before you have a very serious accident. Too sloppy. Quit while you can.
this is just an accident waiting to happen.....it's all fun and games until someone has a flat tire or the engine won't start.......91.13
what's the problem with an engine not starting?
😂😂😂😂

I love how these weirdos brought their assault rifles with them too. What the hell.
Cherokeeeee NATION jaaaa love it
