@@GeorgeJapan I live very near to Saúde station, which is 3 stations before Jabaquara. Check the Yellow line.
It's great. I live near some Japanese stores that sell products from Japan, like the Hirota market, wich sells stuff like Japan drinks, bento and some candies.
We also have lots of Japanese influence. My kids when they were at school they had some celebrations were they served Yakisoba and some other typical meals.
We also have a store called Daiso Japan. They sell Japanese products.
A lot of people nearby are from Japanese decent. So we have some business dedicated to have some Japan stuff to prepare meals, rice cookers, etc.

Just a thing, here in São Paulo, *you have to include the CPTM lines,* which are considered "metropolitan trains," in the size and number of stations of the metro for many reasons, the simples ones are that they service cities in the "Greater São Paulo" area, and the fact that they are connected just as any metro line.
For instance, I live close to the Autódromo de Interlagos, where the train station "Autódromo" is the closest to my home, I take the train there, and it have free passage to the metro in the stations Santo Amaro and Pinheiros.
So both systems function as one metropolitan metro system, and the system, meaning size and amount, should be counted as one.
And BTW, comparing the SP Metro to Tokyo (or comparing any other metro in the world with Tokyo) is unfair, you guys have the best system in the world, but hey, São Paulo System is great though.

I'm impressed by and envious of the São Paulo metro. I wish my local light rail station was like that. Only 14 months after opening, it's dirty, and at least one elevator or escalator is broken at all times. The surrounding street has deteriorated. Trash and graffiti have increased significantly since the station opened. There is no music, no espresso or food cart. There is a little place that serves milk teas and pastries, but there are no vegan options, so I never go there. I looked forward to this station opening for years, but the newness wore off quickly. It is a place to get through on the way to and from work, an unpleasant necessity.
Also impressive is Cristina's command of Japanese. That seems rare among American Sansei, so it was surprising to hear.

Hi,the subway in São Paulo is very efficient and I particularly think it is safe, the stations that surround Avenida Paulista are generally more modern,I hope you can visit Brazil, and come visit my city, Curitiba

I could hear the dumpling screaming. XD
Also, I like how you were kicking the soccer ball. Pretty cool! ^^

You should definitely try (but actually make everyday use) of the metro in Rio (assuming you go to Rio de Janeiro) it’s a lot newer and quite impressive. Biggest advice (stay in Ipanema close to the beach preferably but a few blocks further away isn’t bad either)

And one more thing, I would definitely take someone from outside Brazil to visit the São Paulo municipal market. It is really amazing and has an impressive amount of merchandise...the best Chilean olives and sandwiches...as well as fruits, spices, meat and restaurants.

@@GeorgeJapan In Brazil there is a Festival called "Natal Luz" located in the city of Gramado, I'm Brazilian and I've never been there but many say it's an unforgettable experience, if you can go there it would be amazing, Gramado is really different from other Brazilian cities, it's like a Europe inside Brazil. 🥰
