I know that you put this video up 6 years ago, but I had the same problem with a viper I just bought and rebuilt. I just wanted to thank you for this video because I could not figure out why it was doing this. I build old 2 stroke dirt bikes and there is plenty of help from manuals, videos, etc. Nothing on snowmobiles.
Bought a 98 vmax xtc 700 for $300. Guy thought something was really messed up. Said carbs were just rebuilt. I noticed throttle cable was tight. Brought it home. Set it to 1/4" of play and have been ridi g it for 4 years now haha
Bypass the tors setup...I had this problem and I fixed it so easily. Common problem with the 700's and the 600's if they have it. Unplug both leads and plug them together! It is a two minute fix! Use a tether instead. ITS NOT THE TIMING! If you roll the sled or fall off, the tors will stop it from going full throttle! It's a safety device but it malfunctions!
The problem is The stop button i have The same in my sx 600 . It 4 takt because The sensor told that The gas wire has stuck so open the energency stop button and cut the cables and twin them all tree!!!!!@
@@pierrebelanger3643 Are u kidding? Have u owned an srx with a starting problem? I have and as soon as i installed a primer my problems startin it were over. Isnt that what he was looking for?

I have the same problem with my 99 Yamaha vmax 600 and it works now after I did what u sead thanks
You will brake your pull cord pulling like that, take up the Slack first before you pull on any corded engine
Your carbs are not all the same on an tripple its very very important there set the same
Simple fix unhook the wires going to the idle screw and take the two wire from harness and plug them into each other
Wife made vid 😂......real world stuff. .. lov it
Put a little gas in the cylinder heads to induce start up and then it will suck the gas in
does this year sled have a thermo stat
Yes it's a liquid cool sled
Or make sure your breaks are not seized
Including calipers and all
Could have blew in the tank to put gas in the lines

crank seals are shot sucking air the tors is saving your ass thats why they backfire and the only time they backfire
Your wrong on that the troq was making maen backfire on a freshly rebuilt motor (less then 50mi)to fix it I moved the idel screw a little solved
id stop after 4
What the Heck! Lmao..
Oh and screw that tors unplug it and plug the wires back into themselves that will solve any issues you're having with that system.
I hope your not going to pulling like that on the trails
Yep, all fixed up now, and sold it last year. I have another video on TORS also.
install a primer kit. problem solved.
NOPE!
A primer is good on old sled have no choke, don't put a primer on that sled please
@@pierrebelanger3643 Are u kidding? Have u owned an srx with a starting problem? I have and as soon as i installed a primer my problems startin it were over. Isnt that what he was looking for?
Yes I have a sx700r, if your carb is ok and crankcase does a good vaccum and the fuel pump is ok, the sled start easily at -35 on choke
@@pierrebelanger3643 tell that to the %90 of srx 700 owners when they are pulling their guts out. Its a cheap and easy fix.
Your idle is way too high.
Agreed had exact same sled, Jerry Hauck had it idling at 1480. With high clutch kick ins at 3800. Sled rocked to 95.
14 ish is standard for Yamaha 700 triples
