Thanks for the info. After receiving my TEFL certification a few days ago I've been digging around to see what might be the best fit for me. I have a Masters from the Rhode Island School of Design, Collegiate teaching certification from Brown University and taught college art courses for about 6 years. My first teaching job before graduating was a year teaching kids at a local Montessori school but I'm not sure I want to work with kids again. What options are out there (besides Cambly) for someone like myself who might want to work primarily with older students and adults? Thanks again, all info is appreciated :)

Cambly doesn't take California teachers now. It's ridiculous how low the pay is. I understand that you save by not commuting, etc- But it won't pay my bills in California.

The pay is one of the biggest critiques for Cambly - that's why I didn't include it in this video. I'm sorry to hear they're no longer hiring in California! I'll have to put an update out for everybody. Thanks for letting me know!

I teach on Preply and it is easy to start but they don't send many students to me, even though I have 5 stars and alot of great reviews. I charge $13 and get $10.60 which is ridiculous but I really love meeting my students from around the world. I make up my own lessons and it is both fun and very informative. I am also a voice coach need to find platforms that are not just for singing. I charge quite alot for that but have been teaching in person for over 30 years. The pandemic killed it ...had to stop and want to teach online now. Any idea's? Some folks here were concerned about your voice and I can give you some clear things to have a smooth warm voice if you are interested in an information trade. Thanks*

I hope my comment find you well
I notice from your way of speaking that you are drinking so much coffee/energy drinks and you need to stop drink them or reduce the amount of coffee per day

When it comes to teaching English online is there categories I don't have to teach for example if I just only wanted the teach people have to read and speak but I don't want to teach how the spell is that possible in any of the websites would appreciate a response thank you

Hey Marcos! Great question! If you're working for a company that provides lessons, you need to follow the lessons they give. There are a few that allow flexibility but that would be on a case-by-case basis. I don't personally work for all of these platforms so I couldn't tell you which ones include spelling in their curriculum. It's something you would have to email and ask if you're interested.
If you're working for Verbling or Preply where you create your own lessons, you could leave it out. But, keep in mind that some learners may want spelling included in their sessions so you would either have to add it or be okay with them picking a different teacher.

Correction, Pleply has its own curriculum. would be your choice to structure your own lessons.
