The GT500/Class 1 cars are slower than Hypercars in Le Mans & NASCAR tracks but quicker than most tracks like in Fuji, Nurburgring, Suzuka, Spa, Lusail, Yas Marina, etc.
As soon as i saw there was a GT500 in the field that would be the main rival for the LMH, there is no way a Hypercar was beating the top 3 cars even before the race started, but Given how insane the GT500 cars are downforce wise it would be hard for the Hypercar to beat it on track, even once the hypercar got past it couldnt pull away really.
Hypercars actually have very similar DF levels to the GT500 cars, if not higher, it’s the tyre compounds. GT500 have ultra sticky qualifying tyres as a result of the superGT tyre war. Hypercars have very hard tyres that can be double stinted on.
As a result, we lost to the hyper cars, but no other car other than the GT500 was able to come close again behind the hyper cars that had passed us. We Japanese are proud of its speed.
Have you considered doing a video like this but with the grid reversed? Fastest cars at the back slowest at the front. The ensuing clusterfuck would be a sight.
I thought they were all starting at the same time, so I figured everything up to the F2 was getting passed. I think it would've been close between the Hypercar and the F2 without the start delay.
@@Spitfire552 Not really, as Hypercars can be just as fast or at least almost as fast. It all depends on the regulations and they are famously not meant to be 1-lap-monsters since they are meant to drive endurance races, duh.
Interesting, but we knew right away that half the car won't be able to even match it. I mean, we saw LMGT3 and GTE at Le Mans alongside Hypercar already, Formula Regional and Formula 3 were clearly outmatched too. There probably was a few more that I already forgot.
I’d love to see Indy just stick it to F1 and go back to the CART days. Monster power, big tires, just make them behemoths. Maybe it could convince F1 to bring back proper engines and maybe, just maybe, LOSE SOME FACKING WEIGHT.

Tom's racing Supra MK4 & MK5 are the Super GT champion in history. It would be great if these cars including pre-2021 DTM cars have a international GT racing series like GT3 & GT4 cars do. The GT500/Class 1 cars deserved to race everywhere including 24h of Nurburgring, Lusail, Jeddah, Shanghai, Silverstone, etc.
Gt500 cars are damn fast and correct me if i am wrong they use 4 cilinders engines and also the older dtm cars from couple years ago crazy horsepower and lightweight and lots of downforce
The straight 4 engines have around 650hp & the top speed is around the same as the LMP2's maximum speed. Their downforce can turn more sharply & loose less speed than hypercars.
The strategy for the car choice was excellent there's only one thing that i would change, a slower f1 bruh and no indycar, a current rb, merc, mclaren, ferrari and even aston martin are too strong for the hypercar, i think even the williams fw38-fw41 are too quick for the hypercar when exits the corners, a 90's formula would be the perfect choice since some of them have ridiculous top speed even by today standards but medium-low corner speed even the tyrell and minardi reached 350+ so it would still be a competition
@amjan whats the point of the video then? A 499 is no match for a indycar or a modern formula car on any track, you damn prick, you just decided to hate without thinking this realistically
@amjan even the 919 tribute would struggle with this challenge, indycars and modern f1 are too op against a 499p for this type of event, and im the one that needs to gtfo?
@@BevaliValiBoss F1 sure, but indycars aren't OP by any means. Take a slower track, and it'll lose to Superformula. Take an even alower track, and it'll probably lose to F2. Maybe GT500, too.
@@jamiederinzi well tbh i thought this indycar was basically a little bit slower than that 90's kart but if it is as slow as you say then it fits perfectly in the video that rb isn't tho especially a highly dominant car like the rb but i think the 499p is definetly faster than that Caterham formula 1 lol

how come you dont use the realistic garage 56 camaro that I emailed you instead of this unrealistic one with goofy gearing? and also why does the hypercar sound nothing like the one in real life that the stock VRC car sound comes with? totally ruins the immersion for me
This is the reason why WEC should embrace the LM GT500 (GT500 cars) instead of GT3 cars. Hypercars and GT500 cars will provide many insane amounts of close racing. Except Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, all other car manufacturers should reconsider this and take the chance.
If WEC does field the Class 1 cars instead of LMP2, the hypercar regulations might required to have 1000hp & amybe the same top speed as Group C cars including the cornering speed similar to Super Formula while the GT500 cars are cheaper than Hypercars. GT3 cars have the same speed as GTE cars but heavier.

F1 easily, even if it's dangerous.
Super GT!
Wait, there are other racing series apart from WEC? Ok, then, Red Bull Air Race.
NASCAR just so they will do more than turn left.
@@andrehooker3229 _I mean, if the Garage 56 Camaro is any indication..._
The most surprising bit is the Super Formula losing to the Indycar. Guess the lower power meant more than the better handling this time.
Yeah, that’s down to the circuit. Top speed is more important here
Same for gt500
INDYCAR is just great
Indycars are usually better on top speeds
Not necessarily better handling, just higher limits due to more focus on downforce.
I love whenever I see a battle between an Hypercar and a GT500. It's always so close!

I would love to see what a Ferrari F1 2013 can beat. Maybe not a lot, but I'm curious.

I wonder if you can do fuel/tire stint simulations and whoever has to pit last wins.
