    Awesome demonstration... just a suggestion from a viewer perspective... the background looks a bit detached from the subject because of the depth of field... the image on the backscreen have just one depth of field which makes everything blur with the same focal point... make the backscreen as how a camera will do... little out of focus at the front to out of focus towards back... it will look much realistic and will go with the subject... "Unreal" have that power to do it

      An LED wall fits for virtual production should have the good color gamut, LED wall & camera need to be calibrated, need to be super high refresh rate to get rid of flickering, and it need to be good in grayscale, with HDR, that the led can show the drakest part. LED wall (differen brands) equiped with brompton processor is ideal and the most premium in the market, but prices are high comparing with normal LED wall. 2.X mm pitches are popular for virtual production and prices varied from 2k-8k per square meter, depend on the processing system, specification, stacking system etc. There are cost-effective ways along with expensive ways, you pay what you get.

    • @krisabby
      @krisabby 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think what they are using is 2.8mm, and 2.6mm also a good pitch for the virtual production. With a high refresh rate spec up to 7680Hz, there should be no problem for the flickering problem for the LED wall. The key part for virtual production LED wall should be color gamut, color calibration, HDR, refresh rate.

    cool tech. the black levels between your foreground actor and the led panels didn't match, so i guess if they were closer the result would be much improved. Also it looks as though there is some sort of grade on the led panel scene which would contribute to this problem. If you are shooting the actor in srgb, make sure the cg scene is set to srgb and the led output is set to srgb, so everything is consistent.

    The background always looks out of focus from where it should be at. I hated this in the Batman movie. Its promising tech but I think its being overused now and should be balanced with green screen shots where needed. The set is just too small and you can tell, where as filming on Blue screen can be done outdoors even on a very large open set with blue screen walls put up only where they need them.

  • @khhnator
    @khhnator 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    so i'm thinking here, if you can track the camera position and direction, then you can render the background again from those angles but without the actors
    then you can just mix both images to create a mask of the actors from the scene just like a green screen.
    that means your LED wall doesn't really need to be amazing as it doesn't need to be the actual image used in the final scene, because you can always replace it with a better version of the background rendered latter. sure you still want the led wall to create the light and be good enough for the actors and the cropping.
    but it probably doesn't need to be very good
