Stark Why is your universe trying to suggest I am going to owe it's entire future to Carol Danvers? ThatGuyCalled Isaac More so before Last Jedi haha. Depending on how they filmed it, they could have made TFA a lil better with everything they hyped up

I spent the last two weeks before Force Awakens doing nothing but think about it. It was like being in love. But as time has passed I'm starting to feel like Padme on Mustafar. I don't know you anymore Star Wars, you're breaking my heart. You're going down a path I can't follow.

Would have been nice if Solo was a last name that people gave to orphans and Rey could end up with the same last name instead of that silly end of the Rise of the Skywalker.

You realize Jeremy asked us if we're looking forward to it and to comment below. He's just giving his opinion. I think it's one a lot of people share, that this movie didn't need to exist.
So they don't make an obi wan origins story yet they make a Han solo movie with "life threatening moments" with np tension bc you know Han and chewie will survive
Well his origin is the prequels. I would love to see a stand alone of obi where he deals with exile and he encounters vader again and nearly gets killed. Something like that... Seeing the obi wan ptsd videos shows theres good content to bridge ep3 obi and ep4 obi.
I loved how dark the Imperial war scene was, it made sense! And then they just kept the scenes way too dark, AngryJoe mentions his buddy asking "Is the projector broken?"
Boring references: The phantom reference Boring references II: Attack of the references Boring references III: Revenge of the reference Boring references IV: A new reference Boring references V: The reference strikes back Boring references VI: Return of the reference Boring references VII: The reference awakens Rogue reference Boring references VIII: The last reference Reference: a boring reference story The star wars movies can literally be retitled to anything.
Sorry I sparked some anger. I've trusted Jeremy's opinion for years now. I'm still going to see it, but I'm disappointed the general reception seems lackluster.
As much as I agree with Jeremy and you’re guys’ comments, Kathleen is still responsible for a fuckload of movies I love so I can’t hate too much on her. But yeah, fuck this Han Solo bullshit lmao
DazReht That's because with movies like ET and signs she stayed the hell out of the way and let the real storytellers do their thing. How are you giving her credit her credit for what is clearly the work of visionary filmmakers?
"If you want to see Phasma do things I recommend watching Phasma's deleted sene in Last Jedi and read the Phasma book" You might have wanted meat in your burger, but you can buy the meat separately off menu... or read about meat somewhere else. Sorry,.. :D I get your point, but... a deleted scene or a book, does not add to the experience of a theatrical movie, from which it is missing (sometimes for good reason and other times not so much).
Just saw Solo, and I think HelloGreedo put it best when he said, "Its like a big scoop of vanilla ice cream." There are better Star Wars movies, but this wasn't bad. Vanilla is good. I enjoyed Solo more than I did Episode 8 and Rouge One. Additionally, I think it's important to remember these are all based on nerdy sci-fi movies from the 70's. Those were classics that probably can't be topped and these new movies since the prequels serve no other purpose than to give us more tales from a galaxy far far away. If you want more Star Wars, this is it. If you want a masterpiece, your local retailer probably sells the original trilogy... you could probably also pick up Citizen Kane while you're there.
FrostKaiser I honestly felt that way toward Rouge One; didn't do much for me. Different tastes and expectations, I suppose. I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong for thinking a particular way. I just see them as movies in a setting I enjoy, some hit closer to home than others. I will admit though, seeing young Carrie Fisher in CG pulled my heart-strings.
WhiteWolf496 Still... Woody? Harrison Ford nor Leia were the focus of the OT trilogy and it would be jarring if you forgot them. Hell, it's like not remembering Sir Alec Guinnes in Episode 4 and it's Sir Alec FUCKING Guiness. Don't jump through mental gymnastics lol
WhiteWolf496 Side characters are able to stand-out in films. Woody is a very stand-out guy, look at Zombieland for example, he steals every scene he's in.
After The Last Jedi, I don’t care about Disney Star Wars anymore. Not seeing Solo or Episode 9. If they ever do a movie about The Empire or Thrawn, I might go see it.
Pepe Sylvia And I think Disney will eventually realize not everyone is giving them back their four billion dollar investment and may actually fix it instead of making it worse!
Disney may get his money but it sends a message that no one wants this much (or any) star wars and should strive to improve the series. It's not a boycott against Disney, it's voting with your wallet saying this star wars story sucks.
Really? The only thing unpredictable for me is that Darth Maul is who they referred to as emporer, which I don't really get how that fits into the star wars time line. But him getting betrayed by Woody, anticipating the betrayal, the girl sides with him over Paul, and then of course she leaves and he kills his partner. Would've been interesting if they didn't kill him off and kept him for the inevitable sequel to this since they didn't really finish his story, but that it's unlikely to receive since the movie didn't even make a profit and they're estimated to be down 50 or 80million..
Yeah I have read that but I haven't watched it and I was thinking this was more during the timeline of the prequels not after so when I'd heard emperor I just assumed it was the same guy :/
So the movie is a soulless vehicle for merchandise built on references to the Star Wars we loved and relying on nostalgia to make us ignore its complete lack of anything memorable. Thats the Kathleen Kennedy Lucasfilm way! How does she still have a job? Its embarrassing.
The Joker All it is is idiots on the internet attributing a face to things they hate. By personifying everything they despise they can feel better by mercilessly shitting on another human being and projecting their storylines onto them.
alec j disney has an agenda too not to mention conglomorate moguls like bob igor still cant get over their candidate losing the election thats why she'll stay president of lucasfilm.
I love the original trilogy (Well, Star Wars and Empire) but ALL the SW movies have been vehicles to sell merchandise. Why do you think it was so important for Lucas to keep those rights from 20th Century Fox? It just so happens the first 2 movies (and the first 20 to 25 minutes of the third) were really good.
I don't get how that works. People claimed to have super hero fatigue cause JL under preformed and then Black Panther and Infinity War broke records. I think it's not about "fatigue", I think it's about good films and bad films.
Actually it's not Disney. Marvel films are doing great! And they are Disney. No - this is a KATHLEEN KENNEDY problem. She needs to be FIRED in the worst way. I'm hoping Soylo will be the film that does it (not holding out much hope, actually).
Ya know, just watched it on Netflix. I think it's pretty good, there story was solid, the character dynamics we're actually great. I laughed at fembot wat... It was rocky but solid, not a brick but a nice boulder.
At least Jar Jar was unique and different. I mean sure he sucked but you can at least say the prequels didn't feel like conveyor belt board room committee created sterile crap.
The Star Wars universe is a treasure trove of opportunity, and yet somehow these latest movies have been "just good enough" at best. Rogue One as a movie wasn't IMO as amazing as everyone makes it out to be (apart from the Vader scene at the end). I didn't hate Force Awakens as much as everyone else did, it wasn't amazing on it's own, but it set up the sequel quite nicely.... and then they completely screwed the sequel up.
rousseaupatrick94 to be fair two great movies a good tv show and one ok movie isnt so bad of a track record. But yeah i rewatched rogue one the characters are pretty forgettable and the great third act barely makes it better.
LurkerChild I don't think Filoni should get anymore praise than the rest of these directors. If you create a 4 seasons of a television show and have maybe 3-4 episodes at best of intrigue, I don't consider it a masterful achievement.
Is it bad that as a huge Star Wars fan that I really wanted this movie to fail just because of what they did in the Last Jedi? I literally smiled the whole video as Jeremy said exactly what I thought this movie was going to be.
We probably need a few colossal failures to make Disney replace the people responsible for The Last Jedi, Solo, and giving EA exclusive rights to the Star Wars license for making games. So no, hope for failure so it forces them to fix their shit.
No I'm a hardcore fan of Star Wars I'm talking reading most comics played all the games and watched all the movies, tv series and specials and I want this to fail so they replace KK the feminist biach!
I appreciate your thoughts as always Jeremy but I'm definitely on the opposite end of the spectrum. I really liked the film. As someone who was super sceptical and fearing the worst, I ended up really enjoying it. I like exploring Han's back story, how he formed connections with Chewbacca and Lando, the different locations and cool references to the other fims. I guess because I'm not super deep into Star Wars I was cool with how the film was handled, and sure acknowledge the film has some issues but I still thought it was a good time.
As a lifetime star wars nerd who is way into the lore and expanded universe... I wholeheartedly agree. Very much enjoyed yhe movie and I like Han Solos new back story.
TLJ turned me off to Star Wars. Solo didn't turn me back on again but it was still a pretty fun time. Especially with all the snacks I smuggled into the theater.
Im going to quote james rolfe from his ghostbusters 2016 video. “If this really is the movie that nobody asked for, then the box office should reflect that.” Im boycotting this film. Even if its ok, this is what we didnt want when disney bought lucasfilm. Pointless spinoffs that can actually hinder legendary movie characters. I may be one person, but its one less sale to them saying no, we dont want this.
I loved Solo shooting first. Honestly i feel like it was pretty good and sorta feel bad it's suffering from that pile of dogcrap TLJ. Sorta don't though cause Disney deserved this.
Slayer Fortress Same with me. I was going into this movie not expecting much because TLJ was so awful that Star Wars was in a way ruined for me. But this wasn’t bad at all. I’d say it’s a solid movie and would give it a “good time no alcohol required”. Darth Maul scene was too sweet and I was entertained for majority of the movie.
I was sure he's gonna give it "great fun, no alcohol required", which would've been my grade if I reviewed the movie, but oh well. I saw the movie last night and I was honestly surprised how good the move was, while my expectations were as low as they could be. Ofcourse, a completely different personality given to that four-arm character Rio would've made the movie so much more enjoyable, and that is one of my main complains. Now I was just hoping for him to die lmao
i'll be honest, i think the only thing that can save the star wars universe is to make NEW films which feature NEW characters and NEW storylines. also ffs DON'T MAKE STAR WARS A YEARLY THING.
I honestly feel bad for Jeremy. He got to watch one of his favorite childhood franchise's comeback, but because of his disappointment's with these two films, it's clearly turned him cynical, and lately you can really tell. Don't believe me? Go back and look at his earlier reviews. He definitely shows more enthusiasm there.
Dormammu Same, it snot only because he lost it but I did as well. I'm a fan of star wars since it has been my childhood. But now since Disney bought it, its not special anymore. Its been milked and the series and movies haven't been good. I knew this was going to be another bland movie just from the trailers. I've lost my enthusiasm as well for star wars films like Jeremy so I sympathize with him.
Absolutely, and I'm right there with him. I think I'm more excited for the average looking at best Predator movie than I am for anything Star Wars right now. At least we got Rogue One, though.
I want to hold onto hope for episode 9, with JJ back at the helm he can finish off the stories he started in TFA. Also the rumors for a kenobi movie are growing, but I’m more hopeful for a boba fett movie. As for the TV stuff...I’m worried
Sarah Dain agreed. Originally I was against the boycott despite the tragedy of a film that was TLJ because I had hoped it would be closer to Rogue One but now I’m convinced. Star Wars must be saved.
I watched the movie for the first time yesterday. It was pretty good! I wish I hadn't put off seeing it after hearing the backlash it got I'd rate it no more than 7/10 at best though - it is kinda average really and doesn't justify it's existence. But I enjoyed what we got - a fun sci-fi popcorn flick that felt like Star Wars It has flaws, but pacing wasn't one of them (no idea where Jeremy got that from!)
What's you're name? " Looks at hand .... Uh hand uuu aaa solo yeah Han solo " ....yup modern day blind fan Bois like this movie. Terrible movie and u deserve better
Those were literally just fan reactions from the premiere. The general consensus among reviewers seems to be that it was fun and well made but there was nothing particularly special. Jeremy is probably one of the harshest.
Well maybe they were biased but at the same time you can't just dismiss all of them and only listen to this reviewer because his review fits your narrative.
+GeoD This is the perfect movie to grab your girlfriend, pop the usb to tv and start a beautiful complaining fest...got to blow off some negative steam somehow hahaha. For some reason i like to complain on movies with friends, it's fun.
Babalou, considering I was planning on watching it multiple times, with a large group of people that I was treating to the movie? And the snacks and drinks, as well as the after-movie hang outs and the pre-viewing meals that I was going to pay for? It all adds up... :D
Except The Last Jedi was mostly good. If you hated that movie then you should LOVE Solo. I heard there's a lot of references to the original trilogy and seeing how much of a hard on you got for it, you'll adore them.
he DID ruin it. disney has just failed to fix it. what gives me a small sliver of hope is that if they keep the franchise going for as long as they plan to, they MIGHT strike gold again. it would require pretty much everyone currently involved with the franchise to be replaced, but that’s pretty much guaranteed given how long of a plan disney has.
Bran Phillips ....well he did. And his movies were exactly what Jeremy described here, boring to the point where you just don't give a shit. Episodes 7 and 8, for what they are, at least delivered on the basic Star Wars premise- cool shit happening in space. They kept me somewhat interested for 2 hours and that's pretty good, seeing as they're essentially long commercials for toys. And before someone chimes in with "Well that's the prooooblem!", it's exactly what Return of the Jedi was too. Fucking ewoks, man...
You mean the fans who treat star wars as this otherworldly special thing that is the single best thing that happened to humanity. And if anything were to threaten that they should die? Oh yeah sure, the woman who literally made millions of childhoods better because of star wars is the problem. Lol
The problem is that Disney wants to pump out a Star Wars movie every year, and in this case, two within 6 months. They're constant push for more movies like Rogue One, Solo, and the Obi-Wan ones are making the Star Wars franchise not special anymore. People are beginning to stop caring about the franchise that got them so incredibly excited just three years ago when the Force Awakens came out. Now, it's routine and has lost its magic.
That, and the fact that they actively disrespected their original core fan base. More interested in making Social justice statements, characters and plots then they were actually making a good movie. More interested in getting in female writers than the actual BEST writers for the job whether they be man or woman. For me I think Kennedy is part of the problem she's turned Star Wars into something now it never was before..... a vehicle for her SJW beliefs
Nah... just bad writing, that's all. After TLJ seems like everyone is starting to despise this franchise, TFA & Rogue One were fine it's like BvS DCEU... one big movie fail and that ruined everything.
@Sleep Well Nope, people were criticising certain parts of those movies too like the Mary Sue type female character.... in fact I think both female leads are quite similar characters. Also the fact that TFA was a relative copy of ANH. The writing was hardly top notch to begin with but at least it teased and promised something in the future. TLJ just took all that and flushed it down the toilet and said you better like it if not you're a sexist!
Oh come now, Vaca, when has Star Wars not been a shit show? Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars. The original trilogy is great. Rogue One is excellent. Rebels were amazing. The prequels can be hit or miss. Both TFA and TLJ are good too. However, at the end of the day, there are a multitude of movies that are better than Star Wars. Always have been, always will be. I've never understood this pedastal that people have placed Star Wars on.
Skullcrusher430 HONESTY was the key word. He gives credit where credit is due. He would have said 50 Shades of Grey was a good movie if he honestly thought it was. He doesn't give a good or bad review based on popular opinions.
I recently went back and watched Solo again, and I’m gonna say it: ITS A GOOD MOVIE. The pacing was good, the acting was good, and the action was great. Plus, side characters like L3 and Rio were pleasant surprises. I feel like people hated on this movie just for the sake of it. Unless you read the books (which most people don’t), these spinoff films are the only thing letting people experience stories outside of the mainline plot, and I for one am looking forward to them all.
Same here. The ONLY exception at this point for me would be an Obi-Wan Anthology film with Ewan McGregor. Anything else from this franchise in the foreseeable future I'm not watching.
Concept Creator I'm fine with getting a proper episode every couple years, but I really don't mind getting spinoff stories focusing on the advemtures of individual characters once a year. I'd even be fine with twice a year, it's no different than what Marvel does and if they do what Marvel does, they can really play with genre and mix it up each time, but at the risk of Star Wars feeling a little less special, I would be cool with a film every year, comprised mostly of smaller genre adventures with big, world changing ensemble episodes every few years. Just make them enjoyable.
Seriously how are they making so many Marvel movies... they’re milking Marvel... SMFH dude... they’ve made only 4 films so far and marvel releases 2-3 a year. Chill a bit maybe?
Star Wars died when Rian Johnson tweeted that there was no mapped story beyond TFA.

Michael Ramos good try, but remember songs have notes and those translate into syllables with vocal parts. Your syllable count is a little below the song’s, but it was a good first effort lol
A Frustrated Gamer I’m really confused as to what she did that’s really ticked so many of y’all the wrong way. She’s not making these movies. She’s not the Kevin Feige of the universe like so many assume. I don’t know why y’all are trying to put everything you guys think is bad on her.
Bobby Pendragon ... Kathleen Kennedy has full control over what is allowed & is not allowed... Added to the fact that she has made several public comments that have rubbed fans the wrong way & then doubled down on these same comments... The reasons she is hated is widely discussed and published all over the internet... It's not random hate.. She also seems to like aggravating especially the male fans e.g. "the force is female etc" ...when the force was widely accepted as genderless
I am beginning to think it is really sinking in with Jeremy how bad and divisive TLJ was, and with this film being underwhelming to boot he is forseeing a future of poor decisions and mediocrity for this franchise, a franchise he genuinely loves and cares for. Ive seen it with Trekkies, and Im seeing it now.
Just saw it a few hours ago. I had low expectations coming into this movie. I wasn't even excited to see it but I already saw DP2 and this is the only other movie screening. Turns out; it was pretty good actually. At the very least, I had fun seeing the movie. The casting was good. Young Han, i wouldn't say amazing but I thought he did pretty well and so is the rest of the cast. Bottom-line; it was a good movie. Don't get swayed by this one review alone. Jeremy Jahns is an entertaining movie critic but far from the best. Go see the movie and judge it for yourself :)
Hayden Dupe I ruined SW for not wanting to spend my time and money on a bad movie? What kind of logic is that? It's not like I didn't give Disney SW a chance. After two disappointments in the sequels and one meh movie in Rogue One, and bad reviews coming in for this one, is it too crazy that people don't want to watch the new movie?
Just because it’s creative doesn’t make it good. TLJ was creative and look at how much the fans hated it. Stop making excuses to hate the new Star Wars. the prequels are some of the worst movies ever and will always be
that... that thumbnail doesn’t look too good

Stark neither does the movie
Stark

I’m a huge Star Wars fan and I can tell some ppl here are Star Wars fans but not good enough to have hope. disappoints me....
What a time we live in. A star wars movie is out and I am not even thinking off seeing it, this was even before I saw your review.
I know! It's pretty sad, hopefully the movies will get better, but I doubt it at this point.
Pronobesh Banerjee I feel you. I literally don't give a shit.
I'm not going to watch Deadpool 2 this weekend. I'm going to wait till next weekend when Solo comes out. Just doing my small part in sticking it to Disney for what they've done with Star Wars.
Same
Deadpool is quite enjoyable though. :)
"I'm alone." "So, you are... Solo?" That was in the movie. I couldn't believe it.
Jardel Elias i liked it
RimaWatch Khadeir Ioved it
Darth Vader was named almost the same way as Han Solo.
@@anders_solace Eh.. palpatine just threw it out of thin air lol I thought he'd give a reason.. nope.. just you are Darth.. vader. Solo's was just cringe lol.
@Jim Milton Stupid line, the ting is that the guy who name Han wasn't even talking Spanish so we can get it that he used the alone and translated it to Solo. It's a BAD sign when Jeremy doesn't have his Star Wars 'cape' on..... RIP
Haha, glad you mentioned this otherwise i wouldn't have caught it!
Now I understand the milk drinking scene from The Last Jedi. Rian Johnson was trying to say they're milking the star wars franchise!
Allen Huang and it's tough to swallow
Two best comments I've read all day.
That makes more sense if it was at the insistence of Mark Hamill, since Rian Johnson is a company stooge with no respect for Lucas.
The idea of a Han origin story came from George Lucas.
Soylo - A Soy Wars Story

Me: I have a bad feeling about this...
SATURDAZED damn it !!! Never tell me the odds !!!
Best line from the movie..
"Han I'm telling you, it's too tight!"
"Watch this"
This is gold
Phrasing.
Ayo🤨
This is why this NEEDS to fail financially. It gives Disney good enough reason to fire Kennedy so we could hopefully get our Star Wars back.
Looks at thumbnail:
uh oh
LMAO
I had the same reaction.
Same here. Judging by the thumbnail it's probably going to be "a good time if your drunk."
A "t-min 1 day." Well, I was close.
More like "I knew it."
Yup, my thoughts exactly
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Why didn’t they make Boba Fett the antagonist
Why didn’t they make Boba Fett the antagonist
Why didn’t they make Boba Fett the antagonist
GoatDude because Disney it's fucking retarded and boba fett it's too badass for Disney to handle.
GoatDude because that would require a good villain....and acting.
All things low on the priority list of the franchise these days unfortunately. God I miss the days when Star Wars was respected for it's movies, but asking for anything on the quality and narrative level pf Empire is too much to ask apparently smh.
caise that would be forced and just another reference, whats up with people and fucking boba fett, he did absolutely nothing on the OT, same with admiral ahkbar, people cry for the most random shit
Boba Fett is male, so Kathy aint havin it.
Because the theater staff had to clean up waaaaaay too much fanboy-cum in the seats after that pointless Rogue One Vader scene, so they didn't want to repeat that
I just watched this film for the first time and i actually really enjoyed it, miles better then Last Jedi
It is better that tlj but this is way more boring like when Finn is about to sacrafice hun slet was strong BUT THEN F ING RISE HAD TO RUIN HALF OF THE MOVIE!!! HONESTLY TLJ WOULD BE 100x WITHOUT ROSE! Srry but rose really make me mad.
A boring movie is better than a bad movie.
It's so crazy to think how positive everyone was back half a decade ago when Disney got the rights to Star Wars. And now...it's just so stale and gross. What a fall from grace.
Ryan I was skeptical from the beginning. Especially after they hired Jar Jar Abrams as director.
Ryan Positive? Everyone was joking that they'd turn Star Wars into a G-rated musical of a franchise
Uh... were you there? No one was positive. What we're getting is actually much better than what people were saying (that mainly being "STAR WARS WILL BE A MUSICAL NOW!!!")
I like how you almost forgot Woody Harrelson was in the movie, but actually forgot Emilia Clarke was also in it. Like, the fucking Mother of dragons. I guess that shows how boring this movie was.
Abhijit Srirangam yeah. Not really a movie actress
*Sees video thumbnail*: "I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Kengu Shinsho That's a great referance, you should consider writing for Hollywood.
I understood that reference
I can recall nearly every line from Empire Strikes Back. Solo will be forgotten by the world in a week.
Kengu Shinsho you made me smile in under 12 parsecs take it easy mate (-_-)
Saw the movie last night. I actually thought it was decent.
Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan in a solo film...it's the only spin-off for a Star Wars film that I might be interested in.... This movie... nope
Emile Vinesh YES, actually prefer an obi-wan spin off(as long as it's Ewan McGregor) than a Bobo Fett movie honestly
I REALLY wanted an Obi Wan movie but after watching these people vandalize the franchise I just really hope it stops. All of it.
Lucasfilm has greenlit the Obi-Wan movie.
They need to do some Old Republic movies. No more standalones revolving around the original trilogy
A Lando solo sounds good though as well. The individual story angle could work. But not when it is forced.
Looks at Thumbnail:
Dang it.
i knew that it wouldn't be good movie, especially issues they been having with it
I couldn’t give less of a shit about the movie.
I hated the trailers.
J Films I think I watched 2 of them and was just so uninterested. Such an unnecessary movie.
TariqBrowne To support Jahns. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time and I check out every video.
You realize Jeremy asked us if we're looking forward to it and to comment below. He's just giving his opinion. I think it's one a lot of people share, that this movie didn't need to exist.
Congrats
I actually liked this movie. Hated TLJ by the way.
Disney: What should we make?
Fans: We want a Boba Fett and Obi-Wan film
Disney: Oh okay..you said Han Solo right?
Papa Pred Speak for yourself. I couldn’t give a shit about Boba Fett.
Why would anyone want a Boba Fett movie more than a Han Solo movie?
Not a Boba fett but a Bounty Hunter film Boba VS Cad Bane
RETRO this is satire right?
Papa Pred I was actually pissed off when solo was announced I've always wanted a Boba fett movie but no.
I'd rather see Infinity War again. Or see Deadpool 2. Or Venom. Hell, even Aquaman...
I see this movie is very bad.. I did have a bad feeling about this
Vincent chase will forever be the best Aquaman
Can I make a suggestion and say how bout something that is not a comic book film? Incredibles 2?
Or put the last Jedi on very t.v in Walmart
Dceu is going to make a comeback don’t sleep
So they don't make an obi wan origins story yet they make a Han solo movie with "life threatening moments" with np tension bc you know Han and chewie will survive
Why hello there, commenter I see everywhere.
Justin Y. Tbf we also know Obi Wan lives too, his story is just so much more interesting tho
Well his origin is the prequels. I would love to see a stand alone of obi where he deals with exile and he encounters vader again and nearly gets killed. Something like that... Seeing the obi wan ptsd videos shows theres good content to bridge ep3 obi and ep4 obi.
You mean you know where Han will end up...
Why are you everywhere
I loved how dark the Imperial war scene was, it made sense! And then they just kept the scenes way too dark, AngryJoe mentions his buddy asking "Is the projector broken?"
I hate the color palette in this movie
Looking at the thumbnail: oh god its bad i knew it, i knew it!
From his review seems like kennedy screwed up
A M A T E U R W A V E
Yep she sewed up since she made the EU no longer canon
Bruh the EU is trash. It had evil Luke, Emperor clones, etc...

The star wars movies can literally be retitled to anything.
Well that's a bummer, but I'm not surprised. This movie didn't look appealing at all.
Form your own opinions.
PotatoSith that’s what he just did you fucking moron
Sai L. No, Cody accepted Jeremy's opinion. Be polite
Sorry I sparked some anger. I've trusted Jeremy's opinion for years now. I'm still going to see it, but I'm disappointed the general reception seems lackluster.
It's decent f*ck the critics
I actually really liked this movie, I understand why some people don’t though
After the last Jedi, I have no desire to pay to see another Star Wars movie.
JC, y'all act like a stupid ass nerd series is your life. They're movies, fucking movies about aliens and magic. What tf do you expect?
But it subverted our expectations
UnPhayzable a good movie, that's what I expect.
UnPhayzable
"They're movies"
Yeah, and they're recently shitty movies. Why would I keep paying to see shitty movies?
Justa Person they're all shitty
"Same as if captain phasma just showed up a couple times and did a couple things" I mean that is basically all she does
callaboo 222 Sadly, true.
To go from wearing a Star Wars curtain at every mention of the franchise to complete disappointment.
Thanks Kathleen Kennedy.
As much as I agree with Jeremy and you’re guys’ comments, Kathleen is still responsible for a fuckload of movies I love so I can’t hate too much on her. But yeah, fuck this Han Solo bullshit lmao
None For All
She’s a racist then
Rudy Solomon III LOL, kennedy isn't responsible in directing movies that you didn't like.
DazReht That's because with movies like ET and signs she stayed the hell out of the way and let the real storytellers do their thing. How are you giving her credit her credit for what is clearly the work of visionary filmmakers?
Rudy Solomon III “Go see Soylo you racist misogynists REEEEEEE”
This movie was better than Last Jedi lol
Brandon Dykgraaf agreed
That’s a low bar careful not to stub your tow on it on the way out of the theater
Most. Definitely...YES
The prequels were better than the last Jedi. I hate the prequels by the way.
No
"if Captain Phasma showed up just a cpuple times and did a couple things"
...if?
Nick Blum haha exactly!
Lol
If you want to see Phasma do things I recommend watching Phasma's deleted sene in Last Jedi and read the Phasma book
"If you want to see Phasma do things I recommend watching Phasma's deleted sene in Last Jedi and read the Phasma book"
You might have wanted meat in your burger, but you can buy the meat separately off menu... or read about meat somewhere else.
Sorry,.. :D
I get your point, but... a deleted scene or a book, does not add to the experience of a theatrical movie, from which it is missing (sometimes for good reason and other times not so much).
nt78stonewobble I thought when the top comment was about the Star Wars universe in general rather than The Last Jedi
Sees thumbnail... I have a bad feeling about this...
Jeremy, your rating was obvious after 10 seconds because you did not wear your SW blanket and sing.
Just the third act alone of Rogue One is better than the entirety of Solo. Nothing on this movie made me excited.
FrostKaiser
I honestly felt that way toward Rouge One; didn't do much for me. Different tastes and expectations, I suppose. I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong for thinking a particular way. I just see them as movies in a setting I enjoy, some hit closer to home than others.
I will admit though, seeing young Carrie Fisher in CG pulled my heart-strings.
Morokiin Yeah, that’s fair. Nobody should feel bad about liking a movie. It’s fine.
👏👏👏very well said!
FrostKaiser solo has to be the best Disney Star Wars movie right next to tfa
Guess I'll watch infinity war for a 4th time
Andy Montanez Gets better every time. I'm gonna look for some easter eggs on my third viewing.
What about Deadpool 2
Infinity war 4th time for me too
It’s like Fine Wine brother
S M most of the reviews I watched say that Deadpool 2 was not as good as the first one. So it looks like I'll be watching Infinity War again.
You forgot That Woody Harrelson was even in the movie... You forgot THAT guy . . .
Well aint that a scary implication about the quality of this film
yugoxgc or maybe it's not really about his character.
WhiteWolf496
Side characters are able to stand-out in films.
Woody is a very stand-out guy, look at Zombieland for example, he steals every scene he's in.
Yeah i haven't heard anyone really talk about him in any reviews
Be obnoxious when you know how to spell
“It just drives on a bunch of references and for you to recognize those moments”
RLM is gonna have a blast
I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW THE MILLENNIUM FALCON!!
It’s so dense! Every single image has so many references going on!
And the vistas! Oh The vistas!
SPOILERS IN THE HOUSE!
AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's! AT-ST's!
I think this movie deserves a revisit, I’ve grown to respect and enjoy it WAY more than I initially did
It's honestly a good movie. It bombed because it released the same weekend as Deadpool which wasn't smart but the movie itself is good
It would be fine as a Star Wars movie but not a Han solo movie
Solo : A Star War Reference
Aaaand I’m already tired of these annual Star Wars releases. What a shame. Star Wars is not special anymore
The Disney effect!
AlChestBreachFan7 The Kathleen Kennedy effect!
AlChestBreachFan7 I agree
I didn’t think the pacing or tone was bad at all personally.
SAVESTHEDAY still boring though.
Same, I think that people are just complaining because it wasn’t absolutely perfect.
Agree, the pacing was good. Not boring at all. One of the better Disney SW films.
I personally enjoyed Solo movie is it the best Star Wars no is it better then EP.8 heck yes
Well the rest of us did so yay you.
I don’t know, having seen it now I disagree, I had a lot of fun with it, liked it better than Last Jedi lol
The thumbnail says it all...
After The Last Jedi, I don’t care about Disney Star Wars anymore. Not seeing Solo or Episode 9. If they ever do a movie about The Empire or Thrawn, I might go see it.
Thrawn is pretty much the official "Edge lord" character of Star Wars fandom. He's not that cool or all that interesting.
What? Thrawn is hella cool. His book was so good.
i will go when they let dave filoni make a movie and gets at least 2 years of preperation.
they just need a new fucking producer. kennedy needs to go
Andrew Aquino and no one cares what u say dipshit
OH NO!
A Star Wars Story
THEremiXFACTOR more like OH SHIT!: A Star Wars Story
A Star Wars Sorry.
I really liked the movie.
Marvel Mathew agreed.
Good for you
Just watched it and i was actually surprised and liked it more than i thought i would
Looking back, it wasn't too bad. Especially when compared to where they took the next movie...
In ny opinion its better than rogue one
Thanks for the warning everyone. I'll just save my money and use it for Deadpool 2 or Infinity War for a 3rd time.
Beltzer0072 either way Disney gets your money
Pepe Sylvia Lucasfilm however doesn't.
Save money for Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom or Antman and Wasp
Watch Deadpool 2 or Infinity War again instead of Soylo.
..like u have a choice kid lol deadpool 2 opens before solo
james williams missed the point did ya?
...soylo?
Too much of a deep internet reference for a normie
Nemesis T-Type ayeeee EVS!
Thank you for being honest.
"The ending is predictable" What movie did you watch????
The ending was my favourite part. Don't Know about all his "Predictability"
I loved the film, but the ending was predictable
@@ARottenMuffin Maul isnt Emperor, and Maul survived his duel with Obi Wan and set up a crime syndicate in The Clone Wars show
Yeah I have read that but I haven't watched it and I was thinking this was more during the timeline of the prequels not after so when I'd heard emperor I just assumed it was the same guy :/
So the movie is a soulless vehicle for merchandise built on references to the Star Wars we loved and relying on nostalgia to make us ignore its complete lack of anything memorable.
Thats the Kathleen Kennedy Lucasfilm way!
How does she still have a job?
Its embarrassing.
alec j Bob Iger should boot her.
alec j This movie was made by George Lucas’ personal request. Shut the hell up.
The Joker
All it is is idiots on the internet attributing a face to things they hate.
Aaaaaand now we officially have Star Wars fatigue.
Zod's Snapped Neck Thank Disney for that.
I don't get how that works. People claimed to have super hero fatigue cause JL under preformed and then Black Panther and Infinity War broke records.
I think it's not about "fatigue", I think it's about good films and bad films.
To be fair, it used to took like 3-4 years for a movie sequel to come out. For Star Wars tho, we get a new film every year since 2015.
onetruegentleman Yeah, but those aren't the same franchise, this is
Actually it's not Disney. Marvel films are doing great! And they are Disney. No - this is a KATHLEEN KENNEDY problem. She needs to be FIRED in the worst way. I'm hoping Soylo will be the film that does it (not holding out much hope, actually).
We need the Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan movie now more than ever.
Saunderss25 yeah, let them fuck that one up aswell why not...
Just accept that Star Wars is fucking done now
Saunderss25 dude it’s been more than 10 years since revenge of the sith .. he won’t look right haha
True
It's a film we cannot afford to lose.
Ya know, just watched it on Netflix. I think it's pretty good, there story was solid, the character dynamics we're actually great. I laughed at fembot wat... It was rocky but solid, not a brick but a nice boulder.
Come back jar jar we forgive you!!
Bilal Khalid i mean episode 3 jar jar. still better than rose. Or purple hair lady or kylo ren lolol
Well, at least Jar Jar Binks is better than Rose Tico.
Let's not get crazy here people!
A Jar Jar spin off movie could be a good tragedy movie, his end in the novelization is actually really sad....
I feel exactly the same way.
definitely a real dog...well i see your point but failling the middle of your story is a big problem....i mean.....that killed divergent.
They could easily rectify this by making Old Republic stuff, but I don't think Lucasfilm has the balls to do it.
No I hoped this movie failed as well, I would have this visceral hatred for it if people didn’t defend and blow off criticism as “angry fan boys”
No I'm a hardcore fan of Star Wars I'm talking reading most comics played all the games and watched all the movies, tv series and specials and I want this to fail so they replace KK the feminist biach!
Yes it’s bad.
I’m with you man. I wanted this shit to completely failed and kept telling everyone spoilers like he doesn’t die, or they succeed. Haha
I think you've summed up how a lot of people feel about this movie, that is, they really liked the movie for reasons which you have said.
As a lifetime star wars nerd who is way into the lore and expanded universe... I wholeheartedly agree. Very much enjoyed yhe movie and I like Han Solos new back story.
No alcohol acquired
Ruben Beltrandelrio Lando has always been black, it's not like they decided he had to be black just for this movie
Fun fact George had written a draft for a ham solo film before selling the IP so hate to burst your bubble but
DrViperVideos we definitely want a good obi wan movie with ewan mcgregor
There isn't going to be another Star Wars film. This is it...the last one. Once this flops, Disney will move on to something else..
lol luke. they spent a boatload of cash on it and are still in the hole. no way in hell they ditch starwars.
It's barely even doing as well as the Marvel movies. Infinity War alone crushed the Last Jedi.
I thought the movie was actually pretty good it surprised me not saying it’s incredible but just no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be
I loved Solo shooting first. Honestly i feel like it was pretty good and sorta feel bad it's suffering from that pile of dogcrap TLJ. Sorta don't though cause Disney deserved this.
Krocodockle no
Slayer Fortress Same with me.
Slayer Fortress the whole movie was so badass
I disagree with this review. I loved it. Jeremy I’m glad you weren’t afraid to go against it but I just disagree.
Na he's right the movie is shit.
Harrison Ford is probably dying of laughter
haha more like dying of old age
Andy Albritton -10
Him and Lucas both!
He didn't even bust out the curtain cape for this one :(
abodine130 Damn that's when you know shit has gotten bad real fast.
Jeremy's honesty seals the fate of the first live-action SW movie i just won't see.
Sarah Dain Same here.
me too
Sarah Dain I have to see it but not in cinema, I’ll wait.
Sarah Dain agreed. Originally I was against the boycott despite the tragedy of a film that was TLJ because I had hoped it would be closer to Rogue One but now I’m convinced. Star Wars must be saved.
Put off watching it but I loved it. Thought pacing was fine.
It's Wednesday, Screw Ironing I feel like people are giving this movie too much shit
I watched the movie for the first time yesterday. It was pretty good! I wish I hadn't put off seeing it after hearing the backlash it got
I'd rate it no more than 7/10 at best though - it is kinda average really and doesn't justify it's existence. But I enjoyed what we got - a fun sci-fi popcorn flick that felt like Star Wars
It has flaws, but pacing wasn't one of them (no idea where Jeremy got that from!)
What's you're name? " Looks at hand .... Uh hand uuu aaa solo yeah Han solo " ....yup modern day blind fan Bois like this movie. Terrible movie and u deserve better
You can like this movie but it also shows that you have low standards if you think this movie is good.
I knew it was bad when Jeremy wasn't wearing the curtain cape.
D'Ander McSullivan I thought that too lol
FINALLY!! AN UNBIASSED/UNPAID REVIEW OF THIS FILM!!
Everyone is saying it was AWESOME and I just really feel that does not sound honest at all
Those were literally just fan reactions from the premiere. The general consensus among reviewers seems to be that it was fun and well made but there was nothing particularly special. Jeremy is probably one of the harshest.
they are honest...it's just different opinions
Well maybe they were biased but at the same time you can't just dismiss all of them and only listen to this reviewer because his review fits your narrative.
They’re not. The RT and MC score isn’t all that great
What reviews have you been seeing? It's been mostly mixed. Especially from top critics.
Jeremy didn't wear the star wars cape...that says it all.
Congrats Jeremy, you're officially the TH-cam guy I watch while pooping and grinding up my weed now
Haha I already knew I wasn't gonna waste money on this, thanks for confirming it. I'll just go see Deadpool 2.
gemlikestardust deadpool 2 is amazing hope you enjoy it when you get to see it
Connor97 you saw it already?? I keep seeing yt critics saying it was meh. But i dont trust them
Indeed! Not going to see it either! 😆
..you have no choice kid lol deadpool 2 opens before solo
As a wise man on Mr Robot once said critics have shit taste. ;)
Right on, Jeremy! You just saved me a whole lot of money... Will probably wait to see it on HBO or something if that's the case.
GeoD 10 dollars is a whole lot of money? Wowzers
+GeoD This is the perfect movie to grab your girlfriend, pop the usb to tv and start a beautiful complaining fest...got to blow off some negative steam somehow hahaha. For some reason i like to complain on movies with friends, it's fun.
Babalou The Leader not everyone is rich bruh 😅
GeoD it'll be on Netflix before you know it...
Babalou, considering I was planning on watching it multiple times, with a large group of people that I was treating to the movie? And the snacks and drinks, as well as the after-movie hang outs and the pre-viewing meals that I was going to pay for?
It all adds up...
:D
Not spending another penny on Star Wars while Kennedy is at the helm 😡
Johnny1248 damn dude triggered much? I also wont spend another hard earned penny on this franchise since TLJ.
John Gillan I love all the new films.
John Gillan Just the movies, or the entire franchise? Because some of the new books and comics (and Rebels) are pretty good tbh.
Except The Last Jedi was mostly good. If you hated that movie then you should LOVE Solo. I heard there's a lot of references to the original trilogy and seeing how much of a hard on you got for it, you'll adore them.
if only other star wars fans are that smart
I haven't watched it yet but I have a feeling he's son will kill him...
George Lucas is now laughing at everyone that thought he ruined Star Wars.
Forgetting Jar Jar Binks?
Bran Phillips n
he DID ruin it. disney has just failed to fix it. what gives me a small sliver of hope is that if they keep the franchise going for as long as they plan to, they MIGHT strike gold again. it would require pretty much everyone currently involved with the franchise to be replaced, but that’s pretty much guaranteed given how long of a plan disney has.
George Lucas DID ruin Star Wars by selling it to Disney.
Bran Phillips
....well he did.
Had a feeling this would happen....Kathleen Kennedy is just continuously sinking this ship.
Put cow with a K at the end and you got her general mindset.
mcginn 420 juice box galvanic milieu conjecture?
She has a similar bigoted smallmindedness as said suggested organisation.
mcginn 420 cok??
But all of DCEU movies were shit except maybe wonder woman
@Sleep Well Nope, people were criticising certain parts of those movies too like the Mary Sue type female character.... in fact I think both female leads are quite similar characters. Also the fact that TFA was a relative copy of ANH. The writing was hardly top notch to begin with but at least it teased and promised something in the future. TLJ just took all that and flushed it down the toilet and said you better like it if not you're a sexist!
not everyone hates TLJ
Gotta disagree with you on this one Jeremy, I thought this movie was awesome! Still respect your opinion though! Keep up the great work!
I'll take your word for it and save my money
Oh come now, Vaca, when has Star Wars not been a shit show? Don't get me wrong, I love Star Wars. The original trilogy is great. Rogue One is excellent. Rebels were amazing. The prequels can be hit or miss.
Both TFA and TLJ are good too. However, at the end of the day, there are a multitude of movies that are better than Star Wars. Always have been, always will be. I've never understood this pedastal that people have placed Star Wars on.
Liar
Kaiju no Kami soo are yo y telling me that... repeat New hope... and Milk alíens...is good shit well i have to disagree
Kaiju no Kami "Both TFA and TLJ are good too" Hahahahahahahaha
I agree
Thank you for an HONEST review. My thoughts and prayers that Disney will not murder you while you sleep.
Darkarrow66 They will just label him an alt right troll. Apparently those are the only people who can dislike movies anymore.
It’s pretty brave considering how much he tried to avoid saying last Jedi was bad
Even Collider reviewed it as a negative.
an honest review instead of a Disney shill
thats why you are the man Jeremy!
so if he did like it, would he be a disney shill? do opinions not exist and differentiate between people? hmm, well this is confusing
This is hilarious. So jaded lol
Skullcrusher430 HONESTY was the key word. He gives credit where credit is due. He would have said 50 Shades of Grey was a good movie if he honestly thought it was. He doesn't give a good or bad review based on popular opinions.
Honesty ≠ negativity.
..its just his opinion, nothing more.. doesn't mean he's right
I recently went back and watched Solo again, and I’m gonna say it: ITS A GOOD MOVIE.
The Last Jedi killed it off for me. No more.
Matlock Wallace couldn’t agree more
I am done with SW and it hurts dude i fuking love sw but i hace to let it go.... they Just fuck sw
Same here. The ONLY exception at this point for me would be an Obi-Wan Anthology film with Ewan McGregor. Anything else from this franchise in the foreseeable future I'm not watching.
Daniel yeah I’d come back for McGregor. He’s one of the best actors of our time. Anything else tho...hard pass
..not me.. loved the last jedi
I'll watch this movie when it's on Netflix and stoned out of my mind
I'll watch this movie if it's on the telly in the background while I'm actually watching my tablet...
Yeah even then it'll still a huge MAYBE
i'll just watch the bootleg if at all
Killapiertro96That's how I saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2
All marvel and star wars movies are being removed from Netflix, they're putting them on something called Disneyflix for some reason
EP 8 killed my whole interest for the Star Wars Franchise
Then gave dude a trilogy
BlackWing Yet you have Darth Nihlius, a Star Wars character, as your profile pic.
I'm such a fake!
its not gonna happen, i doubt after the gargatuan failure of TLJ the acionists of Disney will allow it
Yea they killed the whole Star Wars universe
This movie is fun, why is everyone being so mean.
Thanks. Definitely taking a pass since my kids aren't that into Star Wars. Can't imagine why...
seriously how on earth are they creating so many star wars movies... COOL it down maybe?
Concept Creator Disney is milking star wars until the last drop.
Exactly, Disney should be focusing on quality over quantity.
Astro the difference is that Marvel has quantity and quality
I'm looking forward to Deadpool 2 more then Solo A Star Wars Story
I have to disagree, I love this movie! The film was way fun to watch and the action sequences were entertaining.

Star Wars died when Luke Skywalker wanted to kill his nephew for having bad thoughts.
Star Wars died when Rian Johnson tweeted that there was no mapped story beyond TFA.
Michael Ramos good try, but remember songs have notes and those translate into syllables with vocal parts. Your syllable count is a little below the song’s, but it was a good first effort lol
Star Wars died when the first ewok appeared
Michael Ramos but rogue one had really bland characters though. The movie gets only slightly better with its third act
True
Just seems like Star Wars has lost Jeremy as a fan. He used to be so excited... it’s too bad.
A Frustrated Gamer I’m really confused as to what she did that’s really ticked so many of y’all the wrong way. She’s not making these movies. She’s not the Kevin Feige of the universe like so many assume. I don’t know why y’all are trying to put everything you guys think is bad on her.
Him not liking one movie doesn't make him not a fan of Star Wars...
Same here I did like TFA (not as much as the Thrawn trilogy) until TLJ came out and sewed everything up.
I thought the actor playing Young Han was fine too! I'm more inclined to blame the director for any of his "bad" acting
DP2 is what movie?
I wonder has Jeremy ever sent the camera flying accidentally sometimes when he does his "end of the vid punch thing" ??
One thing I remember that sound similar was in his Kung Fu Panda 3 review, he hit his hand against the mic, which was fucking hilarious 😂
Not gonna see this piece of corporate trash.
Free streaming only lmao.
But you'll watch the rest
Aryo Taheri its people like u who ruined star wars, not the last jedi
Yea fuck disney. I won't spend money on anything they'll get a cent from
Hayden Dupe I ruined SW for not wanting to spend my time and money on a bad movie? What kind of logic is that? It's not like I didn't give Disney SW a chance. After two disappointments in the sequels and one meh movie in Rogue One, and bad reviews coming in for this one, is it too crazy that people don't want to watch the new movie?
at least the prequels were creative
Boolin' Royale true
I love how we now live in a world where we appreciate the prequels more than we used to. Thanks Disney.
Different on its own means nothing
Just because it’s creative doesn’t make it good. TLJ was creative and look at how much the fans hated it. Stop making excuses to hate the new Star Wars. the prequels are some of the worst movies ever and will always be
Jose 22 only 2 prequels were bad, and they are the "hilarious" type of bad, not "snooze" bad
I'm surprised you liked the Last Jedi and not this movie
