Thank you Chris! That front facing camera of the Pixel is really bad, but theoretically the overdone contrast could be easily fixed via software updates. The Pixel is good.
I think you should've compared Samsung's 3x zoom lens as well in video and night shots to make it more fair. Samsung has the advantage of two zoom lenses, with the other two phones only having one. Of course the 10x is going to be worse in the night shots, because it has lower aperture. But i think the 3x would keep up well with the other phones.
It's hard because none of them match 5x vs 10x or 1x Vs 3x zoom. So this is why I either stuck to 1x or optical zoom max. If the S24 Ultra has 5x max only then this will make comparisons easier lol.
How so? It makes sense you can't compare optical vs digtial they both need to be one or the other otherwise it's unfair. I love how I spent 3 days on this and all people point out is stuff like this because fanboys want either manual mode or RAW for their phone Vs the others or different zoom levels that don't make sense like optical Vs mostly digital.

This is great comparison. I think it's comparing apples to oranges with the S23 Ultra 10X periscope lens to to 5X zoom lens on iP15 Pro and P8 Pro. The 3X lens on the S23 Ultra might be a better comparison.
Well, you didn't crop in on on any of the zoom shots in any of the camera comparisons. You could've also shown the S23 3X lens vs the iPhone/Pixel 5X lenses, which is more similar than the lower quality 10x periscope lens. So glad that you not only took the time to do the video comparisons, but did them simultaneously instead of one after the other, like most do. Having them right at the start of the video was also nice. So many reviewers just mention videos at the end as almost an afterthought
Okay well I still see it with 50MP even and then some more noise creaps in. Maybe because it's been overcast these days, need a clear day. Could be that.
Only 1.1K ?! Such a professional and well put, detailed, real-life and no silliness and excessive publicity content :) I mean this and pretty much all of your videos :) Bravo and thank-you ! :)
I think a video comparing the full sensor images of each flagship would be interesting. 50MP for Pixel, 48MP for iPhone, and whatever it is for the S23 Ultra.
I also tested the Pixel 8 vs iPhone 15 Pro Max (video coming soon - lots of editing still to do). Can confirm your findings for the most part. In my ranking the main cam is slightly better on the iPhone. Where the Pixel wins in terms of Zoom especially the in between zooms (meaning from 2x to 5x) the Pixel hands down destroys the iPhone with its super resolution zoom. At 5x I liked the not so processed photos of the iPhone better where the Pixel shines above 5x with its good processing. Though sometimes it can be a bit artificial especially in low light.
Thanks for your findings. Yes super zoom is very good. And the iPhone 5x zoom video also something that dominated the other two the stability of it makes it seem like it's not even a phone. Are you also seeing the terrible dark eyes and teeth zombie look with the pixel? A few comments in here somewhere said I need to update my firmware and camera app but I did all of that. (Just firmware update is available so far)
@@Techtablets Yeah I also see too much contrast in the selfies. In my first video test 4k 60fps vs the iPhone it was apparent for alle cameras in video. But the selfie also looks super bad in daylight. I also only got one update and updated the camera app to the newest.
Wow, this was a very good comparison video! I think it was a close call between all three. The pixel is certainly no slouch, but it really comes down to low light capability vs. daylight capability. Overall, I think I like the pixel for No. 1 and iPhone No. 2. Also, I can’t help but factor in the other smart features of the pixel that seems to overpower the iPhone. This is coming from an Apple products consumer since 1983, so I’m certainly not playing favorites. ✌️
Personally, I prefer the S23 Ultra, especially since I know that there is the possibility to fix the oversharpening problem 🤷🏽♂️ And honestly, I really, really don't see how the 15 Pro Max is better than the S23 Ultra in video 🤷🏽♂️ Ps: on the 10X zoom at night, I don't think it's the 10X zoom sensor that was used on the S23 Ultra, it's more of a crop on the main sensor.
On still photos In most pictures where you gave it to iPhone or Galaxy , the Pixel 8 Pro was better at , and the most natural and well balanced colors the most realistic Skin tone on people shots , so subjectif, and it's getting better with latest updates
I have The Pixel 8 pro and iPhone pro Max. I think the camera on the iPhone pro Max is better than the 14 pro Max, but I do like the photographs of the pixel 8. I do think that the whites are brighter this year on the pixel 8 pro and you need to tone it down a little bit . Both phones are really good, can't go wrong with either one.
Yes with some tweaks you can get amazing results on them. This test to keep it fair I have to run with the default out of the box settings on them all.
From what I can see, the supposed over-sharpening from the Pixel portrait shot is actually more detail from the sensor. Comparing the stitching on the t-shirt, the Samsung shows almost no detail, the iPhone has some but it isn't sharp, and the Pixel simply appears to have more resolution rather than being a sharpened lower-detail image. Her eyelashes are clearly defined by the Pixel, as are the catchlights.
No, that’s not more resolution. Do you know how cameras work? Go look at professional cameras and tell me if there’s more sharpness based on how big the sensor is. It’s over sharpened, Samsung is the absolute worse at this followed by Google.
if you want to crop in and check every photo use 50 or 200 MP on s23 ultra . u should talk about the choice that people can make. s23ultra is versatility at its best.
Great review. Pixel seems to have the highest dynamic range. Also seems sharper. iPhone seem to generally have "yellowish" warm setting. I would have liked to see the zoom comparison not at max range but all with the same x. Also, remember that the iPhone and Pixel are new devices which will see more updates to the camera and functions. The post editing available in the Pixel is unrivaled.
Think you may be mistaking "sharp" for "sharpening". Sharp refers to the lens and the focus. Sharpening is the post processing that is going on here that is often making it way too crunchy. Though Samsung is the worst for sharpening and over pumping saturation.
@@curtisbme I personally prefer "sharper" pictures. They look more crisp. I also have the impression that the bokeh is nicer on the Pixel. In addition we may see a lot of improved post processing on the Pixel with future releases, making it a very interesting device for photographers.
8 Pro seems to win. Samsung clearly has better low light, but they carry that algorithm across board so your face looked irradiated. The 8 Pro appears "DARKER" but looks like you could boost that more in post without blowing things out, where the iPHONE seems to be a happy middle ground, but less detailed than Samsung and Pixel. Fun fact, that I had to look up since I noticed "BLUE" lights in some parking lots around me, apparently that deters crime... NO site could go into how or why but that's the logic of it. Like if it were more ULTRAVIOLET, then I would say... maybe the drugs or counterfeit money would glow under those lights, or maybe Blue is good enough for that task as well. DON'T KNOW.
Some could confuse more details with being sharper. The blue lights? Oh really never heard that? A guess there is some study in some far off north European country that blue lights lowered crime.
Awesome review like always! Off topic of the video. In the US early adopters of led lights from certain companies would turn blue overtime due to degregation of the components.
@@Techtablets It was one of those Scandinavian countries. So... NOT A LANGUAGE I SPEAK. But every article about it refused to justify it. Since I can't think of a psychological or neurological effect for it. Maybe the blue light messing with your internal clock... MAYBE... But I have played with my photo lights that do RGB and found that Blue and Red combined have a weird effect on color, it's not proper ultraviolet, but colors do change quite a bit under that kind of lighting. As for the Pixel 8 whatever, I think Google is trying to go for the more "RAW" look and expecting more post processing on your end to correct and balance it. Wonder if their non "PRO" model has that issue.
@@jamesr124 The ones by me are SUPER BLUE verging on Purple. But I have not lived in MS where I first noticed them, long enough to say how old those lights are, just that they're in few spots, some churches, condo/apartment complexes in the more shady parts of my town and some shady hourly motels.
I just ordered the S23+, because Pixel raised the prices and the tensor chip is questionable. Also there are reports that Samsung might be using Exynos next year in international models again so S23 generation might be killer for years.
Good move. Exynos is Exytrash in my eyes and most others. Yes the Tensor G3 is disappointing and Pixel fans defend it saying it's not for gaming etc. Pixel price hike is not good and base model of 128GB is a joke. Good move getting the S23+!
@UhOhUmm From the reports I've been hearing. It seems like the S24 Ultra will get the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 internationally, and the 24 and 24+ will get the Exynos 2400. I prefer this approach to be honest. The highest price 'pro' phone should get the most powerful chips set.
Great detailed comparison as usual Chris. 🙂 Pixel also got the USB lossless audio and video as an audio enthusiast I am quite curious how that turns out. Although I would like a headphone jack on the phone.
Great to see them all 3 together in all sorts of different conditions and environments. Thanks for the comparisons! I heard a lot of negativity about the Samsung Galaxy being too oversaturated compared to the Iphone Pro Max, but in this video it's not bad at all.
I watched video without sound to decide on my own which footage was greater in my eyes and i dare to say that S23 is catching up. I didnt hear anything, just by watching. In some cases was even ahead and for that to happen vs Iphone and Pixel, the two greatest picture/video phones for years its something.
Again it's out if the box default settings across all 3 phones. If I tweak only one that's a huge unfair advantage, I might as well use, raw, manual mode plus a tripod and gimbal for your favorite phone only. But not the other two 🤣
@@Techtablets I don't have a problem with any phone, it's true that I'm enjoying with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but at the same time my other iPhone 14 Pro Max. And the settings that I told you about are only deactivating it because it is one of the features provided by Samsung and not adding features from the other two devices. Good luck 😉
Very useful as usual, Chris -and completely unbiased, since you forked out with your own money! I'd personally like to see a comparison between the Pixel 8 pro and the Pixel 7 pro cameras. Is the 8 pro any better?
You should've waited for the Android 14 update. I was nearly selling mine, but once I got the update, the overheating issue vanished and the battery life doubled. That update was a pure magic 😅
I agree with the over sharpening with the s23 ultra, its about the only thing I dont like about this camera. Especially when taking pictures of plants, the leaves on trees almost look like a blur when you crop in. It can also be a bit saturated sometimes as well but I think they have toned it down compared to other years.
Man Samsung is an oversharpened nightmare. Pixel is better. iPhone looks the closest to a mirrorless camera. Much easier to use the iPhone as a B camera for a videographer. Never use front facing cameras on any cell phone. Also, if you really want the best out of the camera, try ProCam. I cannot believe how much better the video and photos are without using the native camera app on my iPhone 15 ProMax. I do not like these camera comparisons though using the native phone apps because you have zero control over the ISO and shutter, so really hard to compare the sensors when the software is assuming the exposure. Need to use a manual 3rd party camera app to set each phone equally.
Based on the cameras. Video iPhone. Zoom and Night shots pixel. Portrait shots S23U But looking at the overall package the S23U that's my main phone. The other two are just for camera comparisons.
@@Techtablets That is the general consensus . Is the S23 Ultra good enough for media production which obviously then speaks to its video quality And media platform integration ?
Agreed they went a bit overboard with it with front video especially. Crazy to think they shipped it out like this and coming for Google they should know better!
Back photo camera Pixel>Iphone>Samsung Back video Camera Iphone>Samsung=pixel Front photo camera Iphone>Samsung>Pixel Front Video camera Iphone>samsung>pixel
Why always saying like this.... Iphone doesnt look any better than pixel and samsung video... But you saying iphone has better video quality... They all have same level of detail and clarity Im owning iphone 14 plus and pixel 5a
10:59 Are you sure you disabled auto lens switching in camera assistant app for Samsung S23 Ultra? Samsung does not use the telephoto lens by default settings in low light conditions and does digital zoom from main sensor instead, however, you can disable auto lens switching for much better quality and use night mode
Fantastic video! Was waiting for your comparison.I'm glad you spoke about the over-sharpening/processing as I've noticed it a lot on my older Pixel 7 pro specifically and it's ruined some images. Marco: Clear win for the 8pro. Portrait shots: iPhone during that portrait shot since the LiDAR really went to work on keeping her loose hairs in focus unlike the S23U and Pixel, but I agree with the overall superior colours on the S23U. Lowlight stills by the docks: Lean iPhone again however the image would need just a touch of denoising, but the text throughout the shot is more naturally defined(Yamaha on the left and and the text on the TV in far right being present although not clear). Best case would be merging the 15PM and 8Pro in that shot lol.
This terrible trend now of oversharpening yes is ruining some photos there is no going back once it's done. I would rather them too soft and if you want you could later sharpen it in post. While the iphone has the best stitching with portraits the colours are off too warm as always and then a bit oversharpened making my daughters lips look dry and cracked almost. A merged iPhone and Pixel night shot would be good!
A second round of testing would be helpful if you were able to show case the respective 48mp, 50mp and 200mp capture modes. Would require a little more work to either document or showcase things like capture times since those shots need a little more time and stability
I've tired that in the past but for such a format of video it doesn't work well, people clicked off when i talked about shutter rates even RAW or full MP shots. The average Joe doesn't care about that just point and shoot.
@@Techtablets It's a shame, you're one of the best all around reviewers BY FAR. Deserve far more attention for the quality of work I've seen over the past 6 years. Keep up the great work!
When phone makers oversaturate or oversharpen the natural image it affects the quality big time. They need to avoid overdoing everything and to stick to that original, natural quality. 😎💯👍🏾. The Pixel 8 Pro stood up to the top guns in the game.
I got the P8 Pro and the 15 Pro Max. I am not really satisfied with any of them...and i am still missing the Vivo X90 Pro Plus which i sold because of notification issues. But the camera... i loved it. Cant wait for the 100 pro plus next month.
4:10 look at the road on pixel. It's not ready to be released yet but they did. Pixel got a ton of strange judder, artifacts, detail loss on spontaneous places both in pictures and video. Also some strange clairity effect. Also the pixel 8 is to sharpened, just like the others but when it get it right, it's amazing 👏 Samsung even more oversharpened and iphone to much contrast and old sensor now. Could you please shoot in raw in both pictures and video and compare? No one does it and iphone looks so darn good with it, want to see how the other do.
I'm still shocked about how bad the software is for the cameras, look at the front video for example how on earth did they think it was fine to release it like this? Yes there are dropped frames and judder it's not good either the rear EIS. Google's Pixel team has a lot of work and updates to push out asap.
@Techtablets Agree with your findings pretty much in par with my own. Raw please 🙏 just a few does it with the iphone but no one comparing 🥲 waiting for a good 1 inch sensor for next upgrade.
I'll bet you if repeated all of these tests 24 hours later, you might come to different conclusions. They are only really wanting in relationship to each other. The Samsung has a lot more magnification. Of course when you open it up that far, it's going to shake and be a bit blurry. Most likely because even breathing is going to cause movement. A fairer test would have done the super zoom and backed off to about the max of the others. This is Pixel Peeping and bench racing. Nothing wrong with that, but I think most people would be satisfied with any of them.
Nice video, very good environment for the test! If both got capture the maximum MP allowed it is still overprocessed and oversharped? I think that for non social media photos it could be different at 50MP
Apple has really nailed it this time around by finally reducing that sharpening. I think everyone has been sending their complaints for years and Apple finally addressed it. Its camera looks wildly more professional now thanks to this change
@@Techtablets in my opinion, the oversharpening just makes the photo look bad even when viewed on a small display. I don’t really understand how it looks “better” to anyone but maybe that’s just because my eyes are trained differently since I’ve been a long time photographer. But iPhone definitely works for me as I know I can do a lot more with that camera compared to the other cameras
I dont agree with your views. you are totally a biased iPhone user. Edit: After watching the full video, I am satisfied. Low light photography is indeed pixel's game and for zoom it's s23ultra. Iphone is for better color retention
great video, how would they all compare at 10x zoom, as in your video you have shown Galaxy at 20x. Would be interesting to see a direct 10x comparison.

Pixel stabilization is amazing, color reproduction pixel and HDR wins! Samsung too processed: oversharped and vivid. Iphone too warm but has the best video capabilities.
The pixel has great potential for video, just needs a few updates to address switching lenses, stabilisation and ease up on the contrast. And i don't know why the Galaxy is not winning with the 8k 30 video
in evaluating portrait shots, you forgot to analyze the most important factors, the image separation and bokeh effect. I think iPhone 15 PM nailed the best portrait shot.
* Pixel makes you look like Panda with those blackened eyes * iPhone voice recording seems intermixed with the wind rather than suppressing it * In low light video, Pixel and iPhone jitter a lot, S23 Ultra is the best
Yes it looked like a zombie filter was applied with front video, just terrible. Yeah iPhone mics are always like this terrible. True about low light video forgot to mention it.
Honestly, you should have used 50mpix mode on S23U. 12mp is oversharpened and have much less details. Except larger file size, there are no downsides in using 50mp.
Again it's default settings on all 3 phones. Just setting your favorite phone to 50mp gives it an unfair advantage, I might as well use a gimbal and tripod to make sure the Samsung wins right? 🤣 Well you get the point.
I do get the point about that mode being default (unfortunately) so most people will just leave it at that and won't try something else. But I do not get the point about a gimbal, 50mp is one touch away from default mode, comparing that to gimbal is not really a good comparison. Thing is, default 12mpix photos from s23u are just.....bad xD. They are extremely oversharpened and don't have a lot of detail, I invite every s23u owner to try 50mpix and see how much better (and softer) those photos turns out when compared to default mode. @@Techtablets
The portrait of my daughter I forgot to mention was low light, the sun had set. If you want to add to what I missed, slo-mo, portrait video etc etc but where do I stop?
Pixel 8 seems to have the best image quality, and best sound quality on video. But its photos are overprocessed in too many cases. Would be interesting to see the RAW photos postprocessed in Lr for all, but that would be too much work lol
Yes, exactly it would be too much work and imagine if I edited one raw file better or worse? Too much room for bias and I cast on a vite on Twitter almost nobody shots raw normally or even uses pro mode.
Been an android man for years, but I'm a videographer and always get sad when I don't have my camera when something happens in nature, Easy to tell iPhone wins hands down and it was nice to see a proper comparison compared to each forum saying the other is worse. The over sharpening is horrendous on the samsung I dont know why they do it constantly
I'm still debating S23U or Pixel8Pro. I feel S23U is better overall but it costs more, and Pixel has only 128GB model (for now) and tensor's bad performing.
Three top phones you cant go wrong with any of them, im sony fan but i dont have time to playing with Foto Pro app on Xperia 1 V so i buy p8p after one year using p6p which was also amazing phone and now they fix all problems like portrait mode, fingerprint and much more so now im really satisfied especially with cameras!
iPhone continues to be the best in video although the Pixel made some improvements. The iPhone simply is very good in video, so stable, definition not lost in details, no fuzzy ground, no jarring or stutters, no flashes in sky when panning etc
I have iphone 14 plus and pixel 5a... I shot a tv box in my room I can easily read the text in pixel 5a whereas in iphone video i cannot... Pixel 5a has lot of details.. Very useful comparison, overall.
It was a close call yes, thanks for the comment. The Pixel does have a lot of smart Ai features.
Personally, I prefer the S23 Ultra, especially since I know that there is the possibility to fix the oversharpening problem 🤷🏽♂️
And honestly, I really, really don't see how the 15 Pro Max is better than the S23 Ultra in video 🤷🏽♂️
Ps: on the 10X zoom at night, I don't think it's the 10X zoom sensor that was used on the S23 Ultra, it's more of a crop on the main sensor.
On still photos In most pictures where you gave it to iPhone or Galaxy , the Pixel 8 Pro was better at , and the most natural and well balanced colors the most realistic Skin tone on people shots , so subjectif, and it's getting better with latest updates
S23 is the clear winner here, 95% of the time you'll take a picture of yourself or somebody and people look better in S23's shots.
That's true yes. Most of the time it's photos of my kids.
Until you add in motion. Samsung struggles so badly with motion
I have 5000 pics on my phone, none of them are of me😂
What a step up from Google pixels this year. Lookin good in most of the scene🔥
Thank you so much! I'm ready to get my Pixel 8 pro now 😍
Good choice!
They are very close and the stitching best on the iPhone, but skin tones I prefered the S23 U however all subjective the pixel shot was very good.
pixel is trash fake photos
No, that’s not more resolution. Do you know how cameras work? Go look at professional cameras and tell me if there’s more sharpness based on how big the sensor is.
It’s over sharpened, Samsung is the absolute worse at this followed by Google.
@@T-eee-L yes, I do know how they work or I wouldn't have made the comment.
Pixel looks OVER sharpened, giving off that cell phone look.
if you want to crop in and check every photo use 50 or 200 MP on s23 ultra . u should talk about the choice that people can make. s23ultra is versatility at its best.
Tem edição diretamente nesse pixel?
I dont remember any camera updates for Iphone except for critical bugs
The colors on the iPhone is either yellow or green, and it looks awful.
Great review! I Have a Pixel 8 Pro and i like the performance. Is a new phone with large progression in development.
Yes a lot of nice smart AI features.
A guess there is some study in some far off north European
country that blue lights lowered crime.
@@tdata545 that's very interesting. Definitely something I would look into. I love knowledge that is really of no use to me 😁. Thank you
Got myself the vanilla s23 after looking at your comparison with the Iphone 14. Still going strong and i suppose it should serve good for 2-3 yrs.
Love that you are pointing out over sharpening which annoyed me a lot in my pixel 7 pro. All other reviewers seem to skip this topic.
It's likely they don't crop in, so don't care.
Great detailed comparison as usual Chris. 🙂 Pixel also got the USB lossless audio and video as an audio enthusiast I am quite curious how that turns out. Although I would like a headphone jack on the phone.
Yes but same I would rather just a 3.5mm jack!
Great to see them all 3 together in all sorts of different conditions and environments. Thanks for the comparisons! I heard a lot of negativity about the Samsung Galaxy being too oversaturated compared to the Iphone Pro Max, but in this video it's not bad at all.
Thanks for watching!
Don't know why but day time with pixel front camera video your eyes looks like panda 🐼 eyes, or could be blood lost eye 😂
Yes not good video at all from the Pixel 8 Pro front camera too much contrast and the colours are off. My eyes with huge dark bags (more than usual) 😂
@@Techtablets🤣
I watched video without sound to decide on my own which footage was greater in my eyes and i dare to say that S23 is catching up. I didnt hear anything, just by watching. In some cases was even ahead and for that to happen vs Iphone and Pixel, the two greatest picture/video phones for years its something.
S23 Ultra
Camera settings - camera assistant - capture speed - prioritize quality 👍🏻
Auto lens switching = off
better quality
Again it's out if the box default settings across all 3 phones. If I tweak only one that's a huge unfair advantage, I might as well use, raw, manual mode plus a tripod and gimbal for your favorite phone only. But not the other two 🤣
@@Techtablets
I don't have a problem with any phone, it's true that I'm enjoying with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but at the same time my other iPhone 14 Pro Max. And the settings that I told you about are only deactivating it because it is one of the features provided by Samsung and not adding features from the other two devices. Good luck 😉
Pixel front cam is pretty bad. I would buy an iPhone but I can't stomach paying £1,200 for a phone.
Yes I'm shocked at how bad it is i'm a firmware update will fix it soon. So far it's just a security update and fix. Didn't do anything to the camera.
In terms of cameras I don't see a significant difference between them. But anyway I would go for pixel for its technologies
Excellent thorough testing and well presented as always 💪👍
Thank you so much for watching! 👍
I still don't know why people care so much for the cameras??
Tbh pixel is too much bright overall s23 ultra best 👌
Very useful as usual, Chris -and completely unbiased, since you forked out with your own money! I'd personally like to see a comparison between the Pixel 8 pro and the Pixel 7 pro cameras. Is the 8 pro any better?
I don't right now the 8 Pro is better especially nit front video. Unfortunately I sold my Pixel 7 Pro I got tired if the overheating and throttling.
You should've waited for the Android 14 update. I was nearly selling mine, but once I got the update, the overheating issue vanished and the battery life doubled. That update was a pure magic 😅
@@Алекс-ы5т5яOh jsut my luck but I waited long enough and just got so feed up with it.
@ Tech Tablets
Which of the three would you recommend as the best phone
?
Based on the cameras. Video iPhone. Zoom and Night shots pixel. Portrait shots S23U
But looking at the overall package the S23U that's my main phone. The other two are just for camera comparisons.
@@Techtablets
That is the general consensus .
Is the S23 Ultra good enough for media production which obviously then speaks to its video quality
And media platform integration
?
Pixel crushes black too much, it's horrible to see those blacks
Agreed they went a bit overboard with it with front video especially. Crazy to think they shipped it out like this and coming for Google they should know better!
Back photo camera Pixel>Iphone>Samsung
Back video Camera
Iphone>Samsung=pixel
Front photo camera
Iphone>Samsung>Pixel
Front Video camera
Iphone>samsung>pixel
Damn , that iPhone's making the other two look like toys. I have an s23 ultra and I believe it's about time to jump ship.
This phone is a masterpiece.
iPhone is still the best for videos but Pixel is catching up with a significant improvement this time! Pixel is my favourite overall.
Why always saying like this....
Iphone doesnt look any better than pixel and samsung video...
But you saying iphone has better video quality...
They all have same level of detail and clarity
Im owning iphone 14 plus and pixel 5a
Yes
10:59 Are you sure you disabled auto lens switching in camera assistant app for Samsung S23 Ultra? Samsung does not use the telephoto lens by default settings in low light conditions and does digital zoom from main sensor instead, however, you can disable auto lens switching for much better quality and use night mode
Fantastic video! Was waiting for your comparison.I'm glad you spoke about the over-sharpening/processing as I've noticed it a lot on my older Pixel 7 pro specifically and it's ruined some images.
Marco:
Clear win for the 8pro.
Portrait shots:
iPhone during that portrait shot since the LiDAR really went to work on keeping her loose hairs in focus unlike the S23U and Pixel, but I agree with the overall superior colours on the S23U.
Lowlight stills by the docks:
Lean iPhone again however the image would need just a touch of denoising, but the text throughout the shot is more naturally defined(Yamaha on the left and and the text on the TV in far right being present although not clear).
Great camera comprision as always Chris Sir
Thanks for watching 👍
When phone makers oversaturate or oversharpen the natural image it affects the quality big time. They need to avoid overdoing everything and to stick to that original, natural quality. 😎💯👍🏾. The Pixel 8 Pro stood up to the top guns in the game.
I got the P8 Pro and the 15 Pro Max.
I am not really satisfied with any of them...and i am still missing the Vivo X90 Pro Plus which i sold because of notification issues.
But the camera... i loved it.
Cant wait for the 100 pro plus next month.
V100 Pro plus should be something else but yes the Vivo software is bad....
Photos of moving subjects is where the biggest difference is found. Need to cover that.
Still the S23 is best even though it's older than both.
Thanks for this comparison
Thanks for watching!
Great reviews like always
what would be your daily choice device for THE BEST selfie photo and video at this time of the year
thank you
Video iPhone. Selfies S23U
It's better yes but more noise is present.
S23u winner
Samsung needs to fix this over sharpening! It ruins the images.
Apple has really nailed it this time around by finally reducing that sharpening. I think everyone has been sending their complaints for years and Apple finally addressed it. Its camera looks wildly more professional now thanks to this change
It's great to seem they have reduced the oversharpened images but some peopleike the oversharpened ready for social media look.
Oh also, astrophotography is now on iPhone. Apple didn’t mention it in their keynote
@@Mistygioyeah the fact it takes some really good astro shots with just 30 seconds. Imagine if Apple would let it go for minutes like the Pixel
Great comparison. Thank you for doing this side by side comparison as even flipping from picture to picture makes harder to compare.
I dont agree with your views. you are totally a biased iPhone user.
Edit: After watching the full video, I am satisfied. Low light photography is indeed pixel's game and for zoom it's s23ultra.
Iphone is for better color retention
Even though he says mostly good things about the pixel? I’m not sure you made a valid point 🤔
I'm not an iphone user just use it for camera comparisons my many phone is the S23 Ultra.
Thank you Chris Sir for another comprehensive comparison! 👌 It's was great to see how the pixel performs, in this line up!
Nicely done as always✌
My pleasure!
great video, how would they all compare at 10x zoom, as in your video you have shown Galaxy at 20x. Would be interesting to see a direct 10x comparison.
Kinda hard to show that as two are 5x and one 10x so making them all 10x or 20x means they don't have the same level of digital and optical zoom.
The leap in video quality for the pixel is quite a lot it’s amazing.
Not front video, zombie mode!
It trash 3:42 😅

S23 ultra is a killer...❤
Yes
Pixel stabilization is amazing, color reproduction pixel and HDR wins! Samsung too processed: oversharped and vivid. Iphone too warm but has the best video capabilities.
The pixel has great potential for video, just needs a few updates to address switching lenses, stabilisation and ease up on the contrast. And i don't know why the Galaxy is not winning with the 8k 30 video
It can't win if it has no competition I guess.
Thanks for the detailed comparison! I simply do not understand how do you find the time to publish so much good content!
Good question! It's called working crazy hours 7 days a week 🙈 Thanks for watching
Not completely happy with the results, but I pretty much agree with your judgement all the time. That does not happen often, great job!
One of a few that has with this one. There are in the comments here a lot of upset Pixel fans. How dare I say it's front video was bad etc etc
in evaluating portrait shots, you forgot to analyze the most important factors, the image separation and bokeh effect. I think iPhone 15 PM nailed the best portrait shot.
* Pixel makes you look like Panda with those blackened eyes
* iPhone voice recording seems intermixed with the wind rather than suppressing it
* In low light video, Pixel and iPhone jitter a lot, S23 Ultra is the best
Yes it looked like a zombie filter was applied with front video, just terrible. Yeah iPhone mics are always like this terrible. True about low light video forgot to mention it.
Honestly, you should have used 50mpix mode on S23U. 12mp is oversharpened and have much less details. Except larger file size, there are no downsides in using 50mp.
I think thats why samsung is going for same setup as iphone on their s24u 50mp and 5x lens
Again it's default settings on all 3 phones. Just setting your favorite phone to 50mp gives it an unfair advantage, I might as well use a gimbal and tripod to make sure the Samsung wins right? 🤣 Well you get the point.
Better Samsung must replace that old poor 10mp 10x zoom camera set up it's about time.
Thanks for the review. I think you missed out on the low-light night shots (pictures) of human subjects, both in and outdoor. ✌
The portrait of my daughter I forgot to mention was low light, the sun had set. If you want to add to what I missed, slo-mo, portrait video etc etc but where do I stop?
@@TechtabletsBare basics..
Been an android man for years, but I'm a videographer and always get sad when I don't have my camera when something happens in nature,
Easy to tell iPhone wins hands down and it was nice to see a proper comparison compared to each forum saying the other is worse.
The over sharpening is horrendous on the samsung I dont know why they do it constantly
The Samsung oversharpening I hope they fix with the S24 Ultra is terrible 😔
I'm still debating S23U or Pixel8Pro.
I feel S23U is better overall but it costs more, and Pixel has only 128GB model (for now) and tensor's bad performing.
Wait for the s24ultra then the 8 pro is ok but the chipset is way underpowered for 2023
Three top phones you cant go wrong with any of them, im sony fan but i dont have time to playing with Foto Pro app on Xperia 1 V so i buy p8p after one year using p6p which was also amazing phone and now they fix all problems like portrait mode, fingerprint and much more so now im really satisfied especially with cameras!
As usual one of the most trusted reviews. Good job 👏
They all suck tho because none of them offers dc Dimming😂
iPhone continues to be the best in video although the Pixel made some improvements. The iPhone simply is very good in video, so stable, definition not lost in details, no fuzzy ground, no jarring or stutters, no flashes in sky when panning etc

bro is lying
@@lol-yz2kd Nah, back in the old days with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 5 t was truly something magical because Apple had very small market size and few people actually had iPhones. They actually tried to innovate. Possibly because Steven was still leading the company. But now they pretty much stopped any innovation and we get same phone every year with very minor improvements. And since everyone seems to have iPhones, it is no longer special. Ive had iPhone 14 pro and 15 pro but due to heating problems and huge battery drain I took it back and got a brand new iPhone which I have then sold and got the Samsung. It was hard decision given that I was so long with apple but I cannot say competitors are any worse compared to apple. It simply isnt true. Next year I'll be getting new Samsung phone the new leaks seem to be pretty nice. I wish there were more competitors in the market though and I would like to see blackberry back in the game because their phones were actually pretty cool back in a day.

I did but found Amazon had the 128GB black model for weekend delivery! twitter.com/TechTabletscom/status/1713668652422042033
Very useful comparison, overall.
It seems the author tends to prefer more color saturation (not blown out, but perhaps HDR-like) in their pictures, which is something you can't easily avoid in Samsung phones. I prefer the more neutral looking Pixel 8 Pro photos and videos, with the iPhone 15 Pro Max looking good in some shots where it has a reasonable balance between more tone and neutral. I want to like the Samsung, but similar to my own Samsung model, contrast is usually lagging.
How many GB occupy the system on storage?
