Wow the author of that book is an incredible artist! The dolls are adorable and the colour shading of the stitches is amazing. I don't need another hobby but I think cross stitch is beautiful. I love that plaid coating.

Well Ruan, the first thing, I wanted to reach through my tablet screen and take that plaid fabric! Wow, it speaks to me! Honestly, it's a good thing I don't live in the UK, I would go broke buying all the beautiful fabrics. I don't cross stitch. Way way back when I was in high school I did some cross stitch on a peasant blouse, I remember it wasn't hard to do, and very pretty. Well....... my son works at the front desk of a hotel on the night shift, and learned how to do cross stitch. He said it was too tempting to snack, so wanted to keep himself busy. He said it's a portable craft. I think I need to buy him this book! He can do the cross stitch, and I can sew up the dolls. I even have all the embroidery threads. I wonder what he will think of my plan. Now, I must download some free patterns for the challenge and get busy sewing. Also I look forward to hearing what you think of the bias binding machine.

Love the book, might treat myself. As I am finishing off 4!!! Cross stitch for my neighbour, as her eyesight is failing. It's becoming a chore as they are huge. This would be lovely for me

I’ve just been away on holiday in Madeira and found a fabric shop! I bought three pieces for dresses and a silk top, so felt quite restrained ,although not obviously, as I’m trying not to buy too much and I’m going to the stitch festival🤦♀️ My room is fit to burst with fabric. I watch vlogs and love to see the fabrics etc that have been bought. It’s supposed to satisfy me but I’m so easily tempted.

Really useful boxes have some good storage, not drawers, but inserts with compartments, fitting into their boxes. Works well, very portable🤗

Lovely fabric, look forward to seeing what you make. Well done on your bargain hunting, it’s great how things just work out sometime. Those cross stitch doll patterns are lovely, I made a lavender doll pomander from a very old magazine pattern last year, those dolls would lend themselves to being pomanders too.

Hi Ruan! I love your plaid fabric. Besides a shacket, a jumper (i.e., in US words-a skirt with straps) that you wear with a top would be so cute, too, with all those colors. Your cross-stitch book is darling and she did a very thorough job in the lay-out. Have fun!

I haven't cross stitched in ages, but I used to do it quite a bit. I wouldn't have thought that book suited me, either, then the more you showed, the more I liked it... all the options! It's so well thought out. I do hope you'll share if you make a doll. If I had someone I could think of to make a doll for, I'd be buying myself a copy.

@@theyorkshiresewgirl I think of I had kids, It's want to make some that looked like them for myself. For some reason, most of the cross stitch projects I did were to give away, so that's always what I think about with cross stitch.

I just bought the Babylock Accolade and was surprised there was no basket to catch the cut off fabric. Perhaps I missed it but could you share what the German company is?

I bought the exact same box after seeing an earlier video from you. Its call the Nideen Earring Storage Organiser. £12.99 from Amazon. The colour is called black but is more like a smokey grey. Hope this helps some of your followers!

I got a bias binding maker for my birthday too and absolutely love it. I don’t enjoy making the strips of fabric to put through it though so am jealous about your other machine!

I have a cross stitch kit that I tend to do every Christmas, I think I started about 15 years ago 😬. I am determined to get it closer to being finished this year, I’ll have to post it on my instagram page, so obviously then I’ll be committed to completing it 😆🤞🏼….one day! x

Another Tip for you regarding your cross stitching on black aida. I have it from one of the british cross stitch Magazinen: put one white piece of fabric in your lap underneath the black Aida. So you can see the holes better.

Lovely fabrics, I was doing really well till I couldn’t resist a destash fabric bargain, I’m currently madly making bags for a craft fair, but I have fallen down a wet felting rabbit hole. I was lucky and received a bias maker for my birthday, I haven’t used it yet 🙄Must get the book, thanks, I always have a cross stitch and some knitting on the go too 🫣🤪 I agree, how annoying is it that Babylock don’t have trays
