Didn’t see anyone else say it so I will. The black family moving in wasn’t inspired by Leti buying the house. It was the beginning of “white flight”. Racism is more than just being mean, it has economic impacts as well. With Leti moving in into the neighborhood, the evaluation of houses in the area decreases because of the proximity to black people. So white folks start to move out, the house becomes more and more affordable and more black people move in. That’s why still to this day, the black side of a neighborhood is almost always separated from the white side by major roads or natural land marks. Learned this in college and see it in my home town

The thing that separates Christina from the rest of the white people in this show is that she does not seem to exemplify racism against the protagonist merely because they’re black. Christina was not a racist, she was a woman hungry for emancipation, she has been denied and belittled by white men all her life. I think she actually have empathy, She sees Ruby as her equal, she never looked down at Ruby, because she knows how they both are familiar with being oppressed. Both wanting to have opportunities denied because of their identity. I never saw Christina as a villain, she saved Dee, resurrect Leti twice, saved both Leti and Tic from racist police. Christina was more of an ally than anything. Dee however is now fueled by pure rage, she barely even knew Christina, she didnt even hesitate to brutally killed Christina , Dee is a child and harbors so much hatred towards a whole race, i understand why shes mad, but Christina saved Dee an episode ago..Dee is gonna be evil

Just because she could have loved ruby, which to me is debatable based on her actions does not mean she wasn’t a racist. The mere fact she uses actual people as sacrifices makes her an amoral person and she use the advantages her race gives her throughout the entire show.. she was far from a good person. And just because you don’t believe in the delusional theories of racist does not mean you aren’t a racist because racism is a system and systematically Christina and any white peoples benefit from it. If people truly understood racism and how it effectively effects every aspect of our lives people would be less confused over rather or not Christina was a good person.

@@farhanrafi8481 Well if Dee knew that Christina would only help potentially save Dee's life only if Tic would come willingly to sacrifice his own... I'm sure that wouldn't sit well with her. "You want to kill one of my family members(and did) in order to save me?, and all these problems are the result of you and your family anyway." Oh she definitely had justification. I don't think Dee is evil and I don't think Christina was evil either.

It will definitely be interesting to see which era the next season will pick up and which events in particular. If we assume that it will be when George is a grown man, it should be at the end of the 60s, beginning of the 70s, so civil rights era... I'm sure there are quite a few events from that time that also got swept under the rug of history and are well worth bringing into light again.

When black people moved to the white neighborhoods back then, it inspired "white flight". They didn't want to live near black people, and they took their wealth out to the suburbs. They often kept ownership of the property and rented it out. They became slumlords because they rarely visited the property until it was time to collect rent. This lead to the suburbs looking nice, their school districts having better education and the inner cities go downhill. I used to live in a house next to and older black woman, she said the whites offered her money for her home so that the neighborhood stayed whites only, but she and others refused and her white neighbors left the area.

I suspect that it was George who saved his mother, and that the child will grow up to be a powerful sorcerer. And I am hoping that Season 2 will include a flashback to how Dee got her arm: perhaps her own centuries with Seraphina, learning who she really is? That would explain why the happy, precocious kid seems to have suddenly become a cold-blooded murderer. And it would be really fun to see Tic's encounter with George in the future: it allows the character to return without cheapening his sacrifice.

I guess Christina did love Ruby. Also I think, as many others, this series finale was kinda rushed, for me, for episodes 1-9 Christina was more of a grey area character, and now this sudden jump to being a big bad. I was thinking they would defeat Christina enough to make her abandon her plans and someone from another Lodge, or Titus, would appear and they all would be forced to fight this new evil together.

  • @brianaweaver7489

    1. Dee was talking about black people when she said "They still didn't learn" . Meaning they shouldn't have shown Christina mercy by leaving her alive, because some black people turn the other cheek to people don't deserve it. However... If she WAS referring to white people then she was most likely talking about the fact that white people have the audacity to kill steal and oppress then cry for help and forgiveness from us later. Either way it works out
    2. I think Atticus is coming back somehow. And ruby is in a coma from the looks of the memories
    3. Christiana was evil and if you looked at her ass anything other than such she fooled you just like Ruby. Even though she loved her. She loves power more.

I watched every episode because the production quality and acting were excellent. The Hippolyta episode was amazing and the Dee and Ruby episodes were creepy as hell, but overall I somehow just have a mediocre feeling about the show. It just seemed so rushed and some of the things they were spending so much time building up to just got discarded. For example, they spent so long talking about the missing pages only to find them and even saving the cursed woman guarding them in the process only to burn the pages and slash her throat. I understand the that during that time there was a lot of character development taking place but the journey they went on while developing the characters could have been literally anything if they were just going to destroy it and move on. Also, everything just seemed so loosely strung together including the entire Korean succubis story. It was another great episode, but it feels like it was duct-taped to the rest of the story.

I literally said the same thing!! They knew about the monsters in the woods and left her there THEN at the end they just walked off like she wasn't supposed to be waiting in the car for them. If they thought it was so dangerous and no one was willing to stay in the car and protect her, they should have left her at home

@@NoirValkyrie She had a shogoth to protect her, Tic would be alive if that same shogoth was protecting him.

You give the absolute best breakdowns! I appreciate the research you but into your videos it shows you care about the information you’re putting out. Now, I’m going watch the season finally of LCC.

I'm miffed at Tic's final fate. And I'm confused on how Leti got resurrected.
Still, thanks for the recap. Hopefully, there's Season 2.

Christina put the spell of invulnerability back on Leti after she fell. They showed this when Ji-Ah saw Tics and Christina's past actions flash before her

Calculus is an example of a concept that I don’t fully grasp but the more I “inform” myself I start to understand. When ppl say they don’t understand/can’t grasp topics on the black experience it kinda tells me that one doesn’t want to learn or try (if not actively seeking, or just leave it up to a tv show to learn about a snippet of a significant part of history)...

Ruby could still be alive just in a coma. Hypolyta might've studied medicine in her 200 years.

I liked the episode but some things didn’t sit right with me in the moment particularly the ending with Diana. Nonetheless This show was a horror/Sci-fi love letter to fans😂🙌🏿

I understand Ruby. She is a tired Black Woman. She didn't want to be white... she just thought she wouldn't have to work so hard. Ruby's family gave her nothing. Christina/William gave her everything not just a house, lights, water and gas... but they accepted Ruby everyway she was Black/White or covered in peeling flesh. That's why Ruby accepted Christina as a woman. Christina didn't trick Ruby into a coma. Ruby willing went into a coma because she wanted Christina to have her dream as twisted as it was.

I think I saw somewhere that the spell Lancaster had put on her made paintings do that. Think I saw it in a comment from that episode on this channel
