Spartan Race - Bielsko-Biała (PL) 2024 - Super

- While preparing for the Spartan Ultra at the end of August, we could not resist the opportunity to race in Poland, where the Spartan Race returned for the first time after a three-year break 🥳
Originally, we thought we would run both courses, but due to some logistical challenges, we had to split the Sprint and Super races between ourselves, with me running the Super and Zuzana taking the Sprint course. On the plus side, our son could run as well and earn another piece for this year's kids' trifecta 🟠
Considering that we both battled some health issues for the last two weeks, we were simply looking forward to enjoying ourselves and exploring the new location. Luckily, we got precisely what we were looking for - a beautiful city, 'juicy' mountains with good elevation gain, a fun course with a good mix of obstacles, and overall, a great atmosphere.
Race Details:
🗺️ Location: Multipurpose Sports Arena BBOSiR, Karbowa 26, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała
🌦️ Weather Conditions: Very pleasant racing temperature around 16°C, with pouring rain throughout most of the race 👟 Running Distance: 10.7km
🗻 Elevation Gain: 795m🪜 Course Obstacles: 28📷 Course Highlight: For the first time ever, I conquered the Twister obstacle in wet conditions! As one of the obstacles that is challenging enough even in ideal conditions, needless to say that I was super excited after ringing the bell 😎
It was truly great to get some mental break from the Ultra training, while at the same time seeing that despite some more health issues (story of the year), I felt good and navigated the course feeling strong on the obstacles, and comfortable with climbs. I only wish we had stayed longer in this wonderful location, but at least we have a reason to come back soon.
With only a few weeks left until one of (if not the) season's highlights, the focus is to finish the preparation strong and avoid injuries until the Ultra in Malinô Brdo. Nervous and excited at the same time, looking forward to sharing the experience with you 🎥
