Felon here. My charges are all related to graffiti. Painting stupid shit on construction sites. Because of this, the only employment I've found is either making 20 hours a week in a failing restaurant or working for assholes who would rather spend money they owe me on a TV and new truck than actually pay me for doing the grunt work of installing screen, tile, roofs, etc.
It's been over 10 years, over a decade, since I've had any interaction with law enforcement in any way, but I'm still denied every real opportunity I've attempted to take.
It's to the point where my options are struggle or kill myself. Over ten years of being treated like scum for a childish act at 18 years old.
"Start a business" is a response I hear all of the time, but how am I supposed to get the capital to start something when I'm constantly feeding myself off of a credit card that's nearly maxed out?
I'm 30 years old now and society still sees me as the scum of the earth because I got caught with a spray paint can making stupid doodles on a construction site.
So tell me, how do I escape the rut of being denied for every job I've applied for outside of a shit restaurant and scummy small construction businesses without killing myself?
And according to society, I should have an overwhelming advantage because I'm a white, straight man in a red state.

Don’t lie, prison didn’t change me it truly comes with in yourself. But regardless basically it’s up to the employer interest in what he needs is one then you have to face HR which is number 2 there job is to protect the company. It seems like facing a judge all over again. The second chance policy isn’t a chance but to find ways to strike you out with a smile.

To keep a person disenfranchised over a checkered past is why the recidivism rate and mass murder suicide rates are deck on five!
