I thought he sounded better here than on the fairwell tour. Not sure why so many people are hating on this in the comments - the guy is in his 70s and still rocking. Does he sound as good as he did at 25? No, because he's f-ing 75 years old. He still plays his bass in concert.
Man some of you just like to complain about everything. This is a smokin' band and a unique set list. Good for Gene for having some fun and paying homage to some classics.
BRENT WOODS! My friend from school and the guy who introduced me to Randy Rhoads! He was taking lessons from him and Randy lived in between us! Brent is one of the best guitar players I know! Go, brother! You did it, on stage with Gene Simmons!
@@bryanterry415 Yep, and he was on the Foreigner and Styx tour. Of course Sebastian Bach. He is really keeping busy! It seems the older he gets the more gigs he plays! He was with Vince Neil and, well his write-off band Wildside. But he really is a great player, he should be out there! I'm happy for him!
@@RockDawg77 No No! Brent has been my friend since 7th grade! His band Wildside was signed and put out their C.D. in 1990 or 91! Most bands signed that late when the big change in music was because of the short-lived grunge thing, where maybe 2 good bands, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. Anyway, bands like Warrant and my old singer's band WWII and of course, Pretty Boy Floyd, and even my own band Fatal Attraction all signed just too late and the record companies stopped giving them money for tours and promo, all those bands were called write-offs because they were basically tax write-offs by the record companies. I know, I was in a band that was doing pretty good and had sold out every club on the strip and touring North America and we were on a small label and by 1991 we were playing small clubs and it was the end of that scene! So, now that I have just written a small book about this sad end of the Hollywood rock and metal scene! So, that is what I meant. I hope that clears things up!
Love it! Gene is really playing, really singing, and really killing it! The man s 75 and still jamming. FU if you have something negative to say. Most of us won't even live that long. Keep shredding, Gene!
I'm cool with it. Why stop if you still enjoy playing live and people will come to see. Who cares if he's 75, he can still play. Many can't. Good for him.
Why are all the comments so negative? Gene toured the world many times and KISS were great. People brag about Kurt Cobain and put down Gene Simmons? Senseless. Gene is a great musician and has always been a professional. Give him credit, especially in these times when a real song is hard to come by. Anyway... respect is due, thats all.
Wow, I normally don't watch the entire videos, but this I really enjoyed it. I'm a mega metal head in my 50s. This gig Gean did is original and really intimate. It's real. Yeah but Gene is just ripping off kiss by doing their music at least Ace frehley came up with new music even though it sounds like shit it's his own Gene is just playing regurgitated kiss songs
@@ElectraGlide-Joe what the hell are you talking about Gene is playing Kiss songs and their his songs that he sings so how is he ripping off kiss you make no sense at all. And half of Ace Frehley's live set is Kiss songs.
These guys sound waaaaay better than Ace's band. Ace shoulda hung it up a long time ago. Everyone here is good. Ace can't play for 💩 anymore and his vocals if you wanna call em that are terrible.
I grew up with KISS, saw the Rock and Roll Over tour at age 8, and play guitar because of KISS. Ive seen Ace and Paul perform with solo projects. Ego aside, I dont see what the big deal is about Gene wanting to perform as long as he can. Like them or not, they influenced millions and had a big hand in molding rock.
Hats off to Gene Simmons for creating that badass band that he created I'm really glad to see him back on stage and the band that he created is absolutely badass
I'm not a KISS loyalist, but I'll admit Gene Simmons is one of my guilty pleasure bass players. I think he's underrated. I'd pay to see this if the tix were reasonable. Tichy slays, and those other two guys rip as well. Thanks for "House of Pain" guys.
TH-cam...thanks! Gene got some good guys. I like when he calls up the girls who are fans instead of eye candy. And the VH trib. Maybe he could throw in another one of his bands songs....EZO. Like the logo and the set. Finland is a war machine!
I'd definitely go see Gene Simmons Band! It was a serious mistake to sell the KISS brand, even if they weren't going to use it. They could have licensed it out...I would have liked to see a "Kiss Mania" type Broadway show, like they did with the Beatles, but it'd have to be a yuge Theater.
I went straight to the Mountain cover! Never In My Life is a great song, Gene & his band nail it and its cool to hear something other than Mississippi Queen. Nice fake-out in the intro, too!
I can't believe it!!! I didn't hear anything about this! The earth is shaking, the dead are moving, and Gene Fucking Simmons is rockin with his own band after Kiss said farewell Now I've seen it all!!
I was curious so I clicked on this, glad I did, I'm impressed these guys are actually really good! Gene's always good and his band is great, smoking drummer and the guitars, are awesome, great job guys, rock on
It's like 1974. I turn on the Midnight Special. But, sort of a alternate reality. That certain album is the soundtrack of my life. There will never be anything like that again. THIS however has legs. BEST OF LUCK!!!

He’s been playing with John Waite recently also.

Gene’s a real rockstar, good to see him post Kiss without the makeup. Good band too.
this band sucks and no one would go see them if gene wasn't in Kiss
never a Kiss fan, but this band kicks ass. Gene sounds damn good.
75 years old and sounds fucking great.
When he’s singing yea, but then he rambles on for minutes between each song like a stereotypical old guy
Nikki Sixx take note this is how to play your bass live without recordings doing it for you
