Great message friend! That unique lube is some amazing stuff! I am using it for the first time right now, as I stomp out some 243 win testers. WAY BETTER than the old sticky pad goop that we grew up with!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Yep. That's how it is done. It's unfortunate that Berdan primers are in short supply these days. It really not that hard to reprime that, The theory behind them is they give a better flash to ignite the powder causing even start pressures that aids in accuracy. Thanks for watching Pastor.
I think I will start reloading berdan primed cases in future as well. My buddy use a special tool to deprime them very fast. I will ask him if he will make one for me to. Will do a video of it if he makes one for me.
Marcus, at least you can get Berdan primers in your country. Here in the United States, they have all dried up. Rumor is that PMC is going to start filling that need here, however, the ones from Russia are blocked from importation. I feel that is one of the most stupid things to ever block from importation as they are not the main type that people use here. Thanks for watching, Btw, Me and Fortunecookie.45LC spent the day hanging out yesterday, we mentioned your channel and how much we enjoyed it. we were going to go shooting, however, the rain and wind were nasty out.
Berdan primer are available here in Germany but not many reloaders use them. I will start reloading berdan primed cases because we can get MEN brass for free and this brass is very good for reloading. Makes me happy to read that you and Steve enjoyed my channel like I enjoy your both channels. Stay safe Dave. Greetngs Markus
Steve, I hope you enjoy the series, Marcus did comment that he was going to do some videos on Bredan priming. Right now Berdan primers are hard to get, Just like High cap mags, ,22 projectiles, Boxer primers, 5.56 or .223 ammo, 7.62x30 ammo.and recently .22 long rifle ammo. we talked about all that when you were here, I feel that it too will pass and the primers will come back. I have been encouraging everyone to write PMC to get them from South Korea and market then once again. I have a bunch of empty 7.5x55 brass casing and they are good quality, too good just to throw out in recycling. anyway Good to hear from ya and good shooting to ya, Dave.
TA777 - already enjoying it..!! That 7.65x55 is a very well balanced round...I believe that Lapua makes brass for it... so there's some inherent accuracy factors to it. Gonna be fun..!! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, FC Steve
TA777 - I remember well reading from gun writers that the way to deprime berdan cases was to fill case with water, insert a wood dowel snug into the case mouth and then hit dowel with hammer - hydraulic force driving out the Berdan primer...and I simply did not ever want to do that...did not even want to find out if there was any other way - Boxer primers were the name of the game - period..!! Well, that device of yours makes it easy... Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to ya, FC Steve
The tool makes it easy, I have done that in which you described with the water and dowel method, it works, however, it's messy and you run a chance ruining the rim of the case if you don't use a piece of wood under it. the tool takes all the fuss out of it. Merry Christmas to you too Steve.
Dave - Thanks for the kind of comprehensive reply with additional information that is appreciated by commenters...The Best of the Season to ya, Dave... Steve "the FC"
I like the hydraulic method, just place the case filled with water in the appropriate shell holder insert a short bolt, rod or nut driver handle into the case mouth and whack it with a hammer, berdan primer pops right out.
I have done that and it works well. actually pretty damn good really. You have to use a board with a hole drilled in it so the rim does not get damaged. No biggie, However, I wanted to see how the RCBS tool works and so far I'm impressed with it. You don't need the tool, however, it's less messy. That is what I like about it. Berdan Primers are in short supply these days because of importation embargos against the Russian Federation. Thing is we enjoy freedom in this country and we shouldn't have something as silly as Berdan primers blocked from importation. I encourage people to write to PMC and see if they will go back to offering them(They are Made in Korea) and was are not in cohorts with the South Koreans. Dave.
Hi Dave hope you had a great Thanksgiving plus I hope you got the card I sent out I sent it to FC to send out to you cense I don’t have your address great vidoe on those burden cases fill them full of water get a tight wood dowel to fit in the casing and hit it hard the concussion will knock the primers out really easy I don’t remember who’s video I saw it on butt that makes it easy
Ya, FC and I spent some time together palling around together, Oh it was one big Coffee chat, stories after stories, I want to thank you for the Happy Thanksgiving too. we had such an awesome time we never brought out the cameras, Sorry about that, It was kinda a break from TH-cam and Just some time hanging out and having fun. I hope your Thanksgiving was good Willie and thanks for the kind gesture. Dave.
Well. You really have a passion for accuracy. I believe that you have turned up the heat in my Rifle shooting skills, Rusty after all these years. also, you never say one thing and do another in your videos or give out some manufactured dreamed up "Sounds good to me" advice. I like that, to many people out there are doing just that. Dave.

The Hornady Unique Lube that comes in the tub is equally as good. Lasts forever. My last tub disintegrated from age.
Good Stuff! I've wondered about that and now I know.
