My mom was a Hawaiian quilter - she made them for all of her kids and mo’opuna… she had 2 she was working on when she passed. Now I am trying to finish them - one has been cut and basted so I need to appliqué, the other has been appliquéd and needs quilting. Oh such big projects! I’m working (practicing) on pillows… I don’t want to ruin her quilts. When I get brave, I’ll finish them. As I work on them my heart will be filled with loving thoughts of her; Mililani Paoa rest in Gods arms.

Oh this was so lovely . I’m a typical free motion American quilter, but I’m stuck home in a leg cast from a bike injury . Nothing makes me happier than this little 12 inch square Breadfruit pattern I HAD TIME TO LEARN AND FINISH ! Slowing down and enjoying the process is heavenly . Thank you for sharing this beautiful work!
