My very first quilt, 100% hand sewn took two years. It was a queen sized story photo quilt of irregular blocks and reversible and I thought it took so long. I am now finishing my second quilt, also large, reversible photo story quilt using my son’s old hoodies as the backing and with a massive film reel appliqué. It has taken me 18 months. I thought I was taking so long with both quilts, but now I think it’s not too bad. I have two more quilts to go.
Thank you too! Your work is stunning. Feel free to to share it and to reply to the comments left on your video. Thank you again for your time on the day of filming. : )
Thank you for telling us about these and your quilts are beautiful! I've made a small pillow sized Hawaiian quilt and have several of the books you've listed. You have inspired me to get back to working on them - maybe something like your millennium quilt
Beautiful quilts, amazing artist, your handwork is perfect, I am in awe..thank you for creating this video to introduce us to Pippa and her beautiful quilts!
Wonderful, thank you for sharing. So inspiring to see an artist loosing herself in art. Her work is fantastic. I am sure she could have talked about the piceses and techniques much longer.
Thank you so much! Pippa is a fascinating quilter - you can find out more about her love of Hawaiian, vintage Welsh and Durham quilts, on her blog. Thank you for watching : )
Thank You for sharing! The quilts are absolutely beautiful! I have been wanting to try the freezer paper on top technique with snowflakes -- 12 layers when folded. Thank you for sharing a realistic time frame! For the amount of time and love that is put in, I hope they become family heirlooms!
Your quilts are beautiful! But I do think you should learn how to pronounce King Kamehameha out of respect for the Hawaiian people. You really slaughtered it! He was one if the most important people in Hawaiian history. He was the founder of the Kingdom of Hawaii.
