Since the Re[in]carnation guidebook has now come out I just want to make some addendums to the video here. It's confirmed that Eleanor is first discovered by the androids in 5980. The time between Eleanor being awoken by the androids and turning into a dragon monster was around 90 years. Though the white monsters her clones fight perfectly match the description of Legion, this date means they are likely something else as Legion were supposed to have been wiped out long before 5980. The book doesn't acknowledge the white monsters at all, so whatever they are is unknown for now. Aside from that there wasn't anything in the book that contradicted my speculations here. It's also explained in the book that the clone project is called "Project One Wing", and it's clarified that Eleanor has cells from Angelus inside her body.
Wait.... weren't those weapons collected from Caim? I figured it would be cool tidbit of Lore that adds to Ludonarrative cohesion since an interactive aspect of D1s game is a relevant to its Lore
@@Si_Ek_Az Taro said that the weapons you collect in NieR which first appeared in DOD are in the NieR world because of Caim. Accord probably took the weapons from his corpse so she could use them for what she needed.
@iamcaim I knew it! That's so cool! The idea that the minor/major interactive aspect of collecting weapons in D1 provides you an ending but also the this plot point becomes the reason for an entirely new story!
Very good video, the fact that she possibly had been living with her mystery disease before 2003 had made me think that maybe she had some other sort of weird rare disease that interacted with WCS weirdly, but that's all conjecture.
Since there doesn't seem a way to DM you I will just drop this here: Been rewatching some Drakenguard lore videos and in D3 its revealed that the Disciples of the Intoners are just transformed Birds and we also see a flock of them at the end of Nier Automata, but most importantly Reincarnation is full of black Birds and I wonder what exactly the through line is with them. I'm sure they also appear in Replicant though I never got far into that one despite the Remaster. Also the beginning of Automata draws attention to Birds offhandedly when we exit the Factory.
I don't think there's a connection. In automata and DOD3 the birds are doves, which I imagine were chosen for their religious symbolism of peace, harmony etc. The birds in rein are crows, which are associated with evil and death. In replicant there are a pair of mechanical doves which I would guess were chosen to be doves in reference to the role of the dove in the story of Noah's ark.
I might be over thinking but there does seem to be *something* there at least between D3 and Reincarnation. D3 doves being at service to the intoners, the Re:In crows being at service to the Red Girl/Her. Since Intoners are linked to the Flower that's trying to kill humanity and the Red Girl/Her also trying to end traces of humanity, they both link to "God" that wants to be done with humans so...the doves and crows possibly instruments of "God" or at least symbolic. Red Girl/Her maybe even copying the doves...it's late and I'm on a drakenier lore kick lol
I just noticed the other night after running the FFXIV raids countless times that five doves fly past when you descend the Pod zip line after the first boss in the Copied Factory.
As soon as I learned about Dragons in the Kingdom of Night, I started getting the suspicion everything is a timeloop and this video just puts me deeper in that rabbit hole xD I wonder if Accord's messing around with the weapons is on purpose, as everything seems to constantly tie back to her and the weapons..
Nice video. I thought Eleanor's clones fought Legion during the era before everyone went Gestalt. What made me think this is that the androids that were chasing Noelle, were stated as guardians that prevented anyone that got into the facility to go outside alive. I'm not really sure if, as you explain, the Androids and/or Replicants that found Eleanor had hostlity from them when they tried to leave as well, or were they that placed them securing the facility on the first place?
One of the hidden stories says that the guardian androids are activated specifically when they detect one of the living weapons escaping the facility, so they would have had to have been put in place by the androids who started cloning Eleanor.
Man i want more nier lore focusing on magic, like thousand years in the future where futuristic culture almost gone like in nier reincarnation season 2 Saryu past
So Accord is trying to stop the timelines from sort of collapsing yes? So im wondering when do we see the end? Like when is all of this going to cultivate into overarching story? As well at what point does everything come full circle like when do you think we will see Accord being made since we know she comes from the Nier timeline.
We are going to get a NieR 4 at some point and I suspect it will be the last game and tie everything up. Yoko Taro is getting old and the finale of reincarnation has set everything up for a game about accord and the revival of humanity.
@@iamcaim that's what scares me about it , I'm afraid that it might end up going the Drakengard 3 route where it's just a confusing mess to anyone not too caught up in the lore , I'm hoping it ends up tying the lore nicely but doing it more gracefully like how other NieR games did where the core story is still good even if you know nothing about previous games
personally branch d of d3 is the closest we see of the end so to speak, flower is sent off no longer affecting midgard and our world. the branch in particular just has this extra weight if you put it in this new perspective where you have seen all the characters in the series experience pain over and over again and branch d being the one that ends it
is there any source for the updated timeline you mentioned here? I've been looking thru the livestream stuff I can find and noone seems to be talking about the timeline which feels pretty big, since it'd be the most up to date thing.

Kinda unrelated to the video but do you know why tf is Gabriella angelified again in DOD3? Also why does accord say Zero created pacts if even Partition knew about them in Utahime Five? Is she stupid? (great vid btw!)
Gabriella convinced One to transform her into an angel so that she would be strong enough to fight Michael the next time Zero attacked them. I'm not too sure about the pact thing, Utahime 5 started releasing before DOD3 released and ended shortly after, so it might just be a mistake, a retcon etc.
