New Hazbin Video! - th-cam.com/video/EpL5e7g4ZsY/w-d-xo.html Go watch please :) Edit: you guys are showing so much love wth 😭, I’ve been reading every comment. I’ll be posting another video this weekend. Also my more in depth video is up in the link above👆
the steven universe woman who went on the rant... there's a whole rabbit hole unrelated to the video. you can google it, (tw for a lot of stuff if you do). content farmers (true content farmers, who don't have any reason aside from money for making content) are statistically bad people.
I will say this! Vivziepop is not a good person. She has drawn b3astial1ty, had a pro-gr@pe storyboard artist for music video depicting gr@pe. (censorship due to youtube moderation.) But! The show is good, the artists have done amazing on animation! the voice acting is top notch. The story feels great. I enjoy it alot, clearly! Alot of the shows hate comes from people who hate Vivzie, who are shitting on other peoples work by attacking everything in the show
Just keep your mouth shut, these people who lie about series because they just want to grab fame, you high-five Shojuka. You're making cheap trash, if it's that easy, make your own animation series. She got a series because she became famous and was funny, unlike you.
On the internet nowadays people either need to love something 100% or hate something 100%, there's no nuance anymore, no one can dislike something without making a huge campaign of hatred while decrying anyone who dares to like it as a bad person
Same way the other way around. You can’t dislike something without someone getting but hurt over it. Some people either just don’t like it or have valid critic. But critic is often piled with the haters.
It’s a logical fallacy called a “false dichotomy”. Very useful word. People make it look like there are only two sides, but there aren’t, choices aren’t black or white but that’s how many people have begun to treat it. This shit is in fandoms, politics, social situations, and it feels like it’s becoming more and more common. I hate it.
The Hazbin hatedom is so weird. It's honestly ridiculous how people spend all their time and energy hating on things they don't like when they could just as easily focus on things they do like instead. I know social media engagement is a big factor, but SHEESH, some people really need to get a life. 😭
They do this crap so they can get the clicks and no other reason. It’s an ugly truth that people will lap up bad press any day of the damn week. They’ve forgotten, or never cared that real life isn’t a damned soap opera! Thus when there isn’t drama some will go out of their way to create it, because chaos is apparently more fun and profitable.
I've seen a lot of hatedoms in my 36 years of living, and the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss Hatedom is easily one of the worst (if not THE worst) Hatedom's I've ever seen. I can't imagine putting so much energy into hating one person's creative works.
@@thenightwatchman1598 As a professional hater, I agree. But even **I** think hating on an animated show is just too next level. Not gonna lie I have my criticisms of the writing (in Helluva Boss at least, not so much for Hazbin), but there's shows and animated sitcoms that deserve a lot more vitriol than this. Also, politicians.
"Do you watch things to enjoy them?" That's it. That right the fuck there. I constantly ask people like this WHY they are forcefully subjecting themselves to a thing they don't like? Go do something you enjoy. Maybe you'll be happier and won't get what little joy you can off dunking on popular shit online.
That's the strangest thing, you go to the accounts that post all that hate and they are plastered with fanarts, fanfics and memes of the show. Why would you have such a deep hatred of a show while very clearly being obssesed with it? I think that the answer is that a lot of these people create insane attachments to some characters, create a whole headcannon, and then get extremely mad when the show deviates from it. Add to that the bandwaggon of people wanting to find faults or "plotholes" to look cool, and you have this insane hate fandom.
For me it’s because I want to like it, I thought the premise was great and I had hopes for the show, I tried so hard to like it and it just disappointed me.

@@sociallyineptsnapper Same here, but I also can direct my hate at the culprits of why it fell a bit flat for me, namely A24/Amazon for not giving it at the very least 122-15 episodes. I just wanted a bit more character interaction and development between the main cast and some more backstory stuff for each, with extra episodes it would allow for a bit more build up for the overall story arc too.
My issue is just how obviously forced it is. People make criticisms that straight up contradict themselves, they'll say the pacing is too fast one minute, they'll say not enough has been accomplished the next. They'll say the designs are too complex, they'll say they're not complex enough. Like guys at least pick a lane.
This is my problem with how people phrase their opinions. They say them like they’re an objective fact but how can it be a fact when another person says the exact opposite is true? People just have different taste and act like one person’s opinion is true for everyone. If someone thinks the show is bad… I guess the show is bad then because they literally just said so and gave some valid criticism but then we have the other side. Which is it then?
Dude, there was a guy on tumblr making a post about the show wrong trans people because they put Angel's dead name Anthony in one scene ahuausjsu They didnt even know the history or the context of the characters. I dont want to live in this world anymore. In the internet people are "social warriors", but in real life, they dont move a finger for social changes or world problems, I am not saying you cant critic or hate a show, I am saying if you are going to make a big problem of a show that you claim its hurting others and wanting to be praised for it, you also should have this same atitude with direct problems that are proven to be hurting people P.S.: When I say you I dont mean you guy from the comment. I am sorry about my words, my english is very poor and I dont have a translator to help now ahhauaua
@@chloeprice4125Angel...isn't even Trans?? Anthony is HIS human name because HE is still just a GUY who is into drag. Vivzie has literally confirmed that before. Angel is legit just a gay GUY who is into drag. If he was Trans, Anthony can't 100% be a transphobic dead name input because it's still a guy's name, and Angel clearly still goes as a guy, even if he doesn't necessarily use his alive name anymore. Hell, Angel Dust I'm fairly sure is just his stage name that eventually just became all he was called because we have characters like Cherri, Husk, Nifty, Alastor, and Vaggie(if Vaggie had actually died, although I won't explain further in case of spoilers) who very obviously don't go by their human names anymore.
But, there are characters that likely could still go by their human names. I'm sure Vivzie just wanted cool, unique, and recognizable names for her characters lol
@@BarbieFlesh6928 Exactly! When I read that dudes post, firts I was "now they are making of problems of something that isnt even in the show", but then I have to laughed, because as said in my country "Is laugh to not cry"
Giggled when I saw the title cuz I KNEW I wasn't crazy! I remember seeing tweets from a few weeks ago promising to review bomb the show just because 💀 I don't get why people put so much time and energy into something they supposedly hate. Constructive criticism is fine, blatant hate and bullying is not. Great video!
Honestly with all the hate I saw them getting (even before episode 1 aired) I thought it was gonna be a disaster but to my surprise when I watched episode 1 myself I was a little confused as to why so many people had hate for it ? I'm sure there's flaws because let's be honest : every show is gonna have flaws somehow but it has been blown way out of proportion. Same thing for the voice actor changes : people were so incredibly negative to see that years after the pilot they would choose other (more qualified) people to voice act and I'm like ???? Besties this is a great show with people that have acted on BROADWAY... that's incredible ?? and their voices fit their characters very well (in my personal opinion better than before, probably because they gained some credibility and had more options because of it.) I find it sad that before we were supposed to root for vivzie because she's an indie. What she and her team did was incredible, and now finally when she gets the success with her show that she deserves people turn on her for every little thing? It's so two faced from the community tbh and I'm disappointed with how much unnecessary hate it's getting
I agree 100% . People are just being so negative and hateful to a show that's still in the works like jeez dude at least give it a chance and if ya don't like it then there's still no need to post hate videos and tweets about it
Don't also forget the hate that it was "pro-Satan" all because of the first few minutes in the beginning of Episode 1. Then most of them starts talking about how it does not depict the bible correctly. I've been in Supernatural, Lucifer and Good Omens fandom and this is my first time seeing a hate this big.
I like how you're omitting just how bad the pilot VAs got done by Vivziepop. Not only did they get recast but Vivziepop cut all contacts with most of them for being friends with Ashley Nichols, did NOT pay them a cent for their voice work on the pilot and her streams (they all did it for free cuz they're nice people), did NOT invite them to the primer to celebrate, did NOT even make a public statement addressing the voice change, is threatening the 2 only pilot VAs with firing them if they took part in a pilot VA made farewell song video. I got nothing against the new cast but Vivziepop as a person is pure trash and she fucked over the people who made her show into what it is today and for that I got no respect for her or the show
@@jadenyuki518 - I heard some of them auditioned but apparently didn't make it. Now the question is, if it was already rigged. But since none from the VA's haven't said anything and in fact some of them were happy towards the new VA's, I will give Vivziepop the benefit of doubt. -I haven't heard about Vivziepop cutting all ties but I heard most of them are busy now that the pandemic is over and are back to their jobs. Not maintaining any contact is expected when each of them have their own lives and its not like they live nearby to each other. Although, since Micheal Kovack manage to go undergo an audition, it means that he still have a contact with Vivziepop and he is still Ashley's friend right? -As long as it was consented between two parties that the work is free the its alright, just do it as a volunteer work to record their voices. Although I doubt that because Vivziepop said with others that at that time, she was paying with her own money. -I don't know about the others but if I'm an old VA and was invited to celebrate the new work, I wouldn't accept because I'm not part of that new work. Sure, I may be a part of the pilot but its not like I have contributed anything in the new show. It feels like I'm just clinging to an old glory. The celebration is all about the ones who work in the new show. -The old VA's were actually aware that they were getting replaced but because of NDA's towards the studio, there wasn't any public anouncement. Its really hush-hush but this is only towards the fans. -About the threatening, well that is the first time I've heard about that but I doubt it. If it is, any of the old VA's would say about it. They're not the type to stay quite and would in fact called out any bullshit being made by Viviziepop because even if they were not friends now, they were in fact at one point.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT! The ''making the creator seem like the worst person ever'', the ''don't support this trash because-'', bashing the writing, misunderstanding the characters and themes and don't get me started with the death threads! I joined the SU fandom when the hating was at it's highest(the s5 finale and the end of SUF). Fortunately, after the hating died down, people started making videos defending SU against said haters(looking at you Lily Orchard). I hope that Viv and her fanbase ignore the haters and give the show the love it deserves.
I know Viziepop isn’t the greatest person but legitimately they’re trying to find problems on things about Hazbin that other medias have. 2 Examples, people complain about others using the song “Poison” which is about Angels SA & abuse, and people are like “stop glorifying & dancing to it!”. Back then there was a song called “Blurred lines” & MANY kids sang it not know what it was about. The song is essentially about r4pe, but the tune & lyrics are upbeat. Another is people getting mad that others like Valentino who is a r4pist, which is dumb you can like a villain and hate their actions. They use him being a r4pist as a go to when shamming fans who like him, when there’s legitimately other villains who do this. Homelander from The boys as a prime example cuz he’s the worst character and villain yet people have no problem with others liking his character, but when it’s a Hazbin character its now a problem? You can advocate for something that a certain media has done FOR YEARS! Whats next, people who like joker are now terrorists? It’s all absurd & stupid, now that it’s something you dislike it’s now a problem??? But yeah that so my thing for this whole mess, you can’t lash out on a media for having something when other medias also have it. It just shows you lack criticism & are just a huge hypocritical jack ass. Be mad at media who portrays ANY dark topic badly, not just the ones you hate.
oh yeah you dont have any idea to how hate this modern moral purity culture and fandom police it curios that the same generation who critisise the sjw from 2010s now act like then
This is exactly like the Stranger Things season 5 controversy happening with Noah Schnapp and for some reason, people started saying that if you watch season 5 you support genocide and I'm like, WHAT?! Where's the logic in that? I can choose to watch one of my favorite shows and like Will Byers as a character and dislike Noah as a person. People are acting like if one actor that they don't like being in something they like immediately ruins it for them. Like??? Personally, I wouldn't let a SINGULAR ACTOR ruin Stranger Things for me. I am watching season 5 whether other people agree or not.
i like valentino as a character but not as a person. he’s well written. the abuse scene felt very real. “are you bringing me fresh meat” “i can make you a star” he’s always looking for ways to manipulate and make money
5:46 the funny thing is, in episode 6 they address that, calling out the double standards of heaven, so it was very much intentional, but people just jump on the hate train without knowing the context
literally tho 😭 i've seen people claim that "hazbin critical" is the new "su critical" and i could not agree more. i adore this show, i've been following it and helluva since they came out, but there are flaws to be had, and that's ok!! every piece of media has flaws, and i personally think ppl should be focusing on things they enjoy instead of watching a show they hate, making melodramatic posts and videos about it, and sending cat snuff videos to the creator and her fans (yes this has happened on more than one occasion) one of the most cancerous parts of modern internet culture (and maybe just culture in general tbh) is hate-watching. like bro, you don't even like the show, so why are you watching it?? hate-watching is how velma got a second season. listen, you do not have to like the show or viv, i don't give a shit, but stop making hate posts and these content farm ass videos with the most clickbaity thumbnails and titles ever. please. i am begging you, my children are starving from the lack of good faith criticism.
Except for Velma getting a second season, I agree with you. However, I wish people would stop spouting that lie about Velma. It's likely contracted to have 20 episodes. Not every networks are the same.
Tbh content frms is a good way to put it. I've even seen some general movie reviews youtubers adding to this. Just caving to the the rhetoric for content farming reasons. And it's so obvious. It's at a point where I'm considering reporting such content when I see it on youtube as spam. Rather than just as sexual content considering how often callout posts get way too sexual too fast and almost never properly tag it.
I don't even think people are actually watching these shows. They watch video essays by people who watched the show in bad faith and just start hyperventilating. The worst part is that you can't even have a reasonable conversation with these people because as soon as you ask them to elaborate on their points, it becomes glaringly obvious that they don't know what they or you are even talking about.
One of my favorite comments on the insta post was, “this show has cursing in it, I wasn’t expecting cursing” umm no duh dip she it it’s an adult television show
I always found that to be the dumbest criticism, considering how people don't have problems with shows like rick and morty, robot chicken, or south park, which arguable has more swears (and in the case of South Park, they unironically use slurs at times and the movie has been toted as one with the most fuck bombs).
I do wish they used the cursing less sporadically because it starts losing its emphasis. I noticed this because in the German version of Didn't Know, instead of Charlie going "That's what the fuck I've been saying" she uses the German version of "damn" which isn't even considered a curse word, but it's just so much smarter in this context because they're literally talking about the fate of the damned. Alastor is also a character who doesn't really swear and I thought it was going to be a reference to how swearing used to be taboo on radio shows, but nope, apparently all it takes to get an f bomb out of him is Lucifer poking at his ego. I do wish they thought a bit more about what swears to use where is what I'm saying. But I've definitely seen idiots who were like "b b but what if CHILDREN see this and start swearing 🥺" Bitch, it's an adult show, deal with it.
My guy is spittin facts. I like how Twitter is like: it glorifies abuse. While it basically makes a whole song about how bad it is. And when there's another song about how despite the fact that their life may suck they can suck together, and Twitter decides to call it a song about victim blaming, a song with a really wholesome message is about victim blaming like what were they smoking? Great video by the way
One of the lyrics is literally “I’m trapped and it gets worse with every hour” and “if we eat sh together maybe things will end differently”. Every lyric of the song is about husk and angel thinking they were alone with their issues and realizing they have each other to get through it because they understand what it feels like. How do people take a song about sticking together to get through trauma and suffering and make it about victim blaming?
I feel like the concept of “I personally don’t like this thing” is dead to people. You are allowed to not jive with a thing while still realizing the appeal 😭 but people conflate “It’s not my thing” with “it’s trash” 🤦♀️
Now that I noticed, both SU and HH are not so much different: -both were made by bisexual people -both are musical shows -both have their protagonist fighting a system to make people have a better way of living - and they both got hated for controversial reasons
@@Liliana_the_ghost_cat Steven Universe did have its problems, decent few, ESPECIALLY with the Gem Empire. Same goes for Hazbin Hotel, and unfortunately, glaringly apparent.
Agreed. Episode 4 was really good. Three was okay, but I felt the emotion in Carmilla's (?) song wasn't prefaced enough; I'd have liked to see a flashback to the intensity of the moment, but perhaps they're hiding something about it. God damn those vocals though.
cherri will probably return in one of the next episodes since she did appear in the trailer it would be straight up halarious seeing her reaction to sir pentious now being a resident ngl
It's not even shows where the hate feels forced, it can also be just one character from that show. People love Gravity Falls but they all hate the character Mabel because they say she never learns from her mistakes (she caused the literal apocalypse but she didn't actually know that until it happened). People even go as far as to say she's worse than the show's titular antagonist Bill Cipher who is beyond evil only because even he reminds Dipper about how he always has to sacrifice his own happiness for her and people conclude that if it's coming from the literal Devil, that must make her the literal antichrist. There's a comic I've seen on Twitter every now and again of Bill telling Mabel to k*ll herself and Mabel responding with something like 'I'm literally 12' and she is only 12-13 in the show. Plus I think its pretty unrealistic for someone to learn from their mistakes straight away, especially if they're just kids.
Wait what?? I've always been a Gravity Falls fan since I was little. Never heard of any of this. And yeah she's fricking 12 bro relax? Are people actually like this? Why do some people seem to think that when bad people do one good thing they're no longer bad but when good people mess up once they can never be redeemed.. This is so dumb
fr this characters receives so much hate wtf she is a literal child. It reminds me of Panda. Ppl be hating on the most mild and tame show ever only bc 1 character is kind of annoying what-
Wasn’t one of the earliest examples people mention the waddles thing? Mabel had to give up waddles and lose him to pacifica before her improvement so dipper could impress a girl that is way too old for him.
@@pinkydoughyI can sorta understand panda dislike a little more than Mabel, she’s a child and panda is kinda an adult. Even then I don’t hate panda I just really don’t like some of the stuff he does
It's very strange, but I think most of the hate stems from some form of jealousy. A lot of artists have been like Vivzie - Making OCs on Deviantart as a youngster growing up - only for reality to hit them hard and tell them: "None of that! You can't be creative and make YOUR OWN content!" Somehow Vivzie broke that mold though, and she put herself out there and made her OCs come to life! This is what every artist on the internet truly dreams of! They too wish they could put their characters out into the world and make it big like Vivzie has, but reality killed their dreams so long ago. This is not justification for the harassment and bitterness that they produce, because the shit I have seen constantly being put out there about Vivzie has been proven to be wrong countless times. =/ It is NOT okay to spread lies and make up shit about someone like that. Hate-watching is also not a good hobby to have. When you surround yourself with negative energy, then that's what you're gonna get back in life.
I think theres a whole video to be made on itself on how some of Vivz haters are just borderline stalkers at this Point. Especially the ones who comment some negative shit on all her tweets.
also the person who you’re referring to is lily orchard, one of the biggest weirdos on the platforms, honestly its jarring how so many people took her words for granted, most of her reviews are 100% biased and with malicious intent, if a piece of media dont have non white lesbians then she immediately says it’s trash, like she literally will call you a nazi if you like villain characters esp if they’re white, yeah she’s that type of person, the fact that her video became so influential it’s baffling to me
Yeah but how many of us love Scar from Lion King, despite his song using intentional Nazi visuals. Or how about Darth Vader and the Empire in general in Star Wars, which also used Nazi references. If people can't understand that we can like villains without actually supporting their ideologies in real life, then they simply lack the ability to differentiate between reality and fiction, and their word really shouldn't mean a thing.
i think what's crazier is that in lily's steven universe video she dedicates so much time to comparing the diamonds to nazis and trying to present the ending as them redeeming nazis.... when they very clearly arent supposed to represent nazis. theyre a blatant metaphor for capitalism, yet lily's so dense that the only comparison for "dictators" she can think of are nazis (not even hitler specifically, just every person adhering to nazi ideaology, ig). then she calls rebecca sugar (a jewish woman w actual-familial ties to holocaust victims) a nazi and nazi sympathiser, then DOUBLES DOWN on calling her a nazi in her recent vid last year... all because she's decided it'll be a good idea to review media whilst severely-lacking in media literacy. she needs to just stick to the mlp fanfics and step away from art analysis
Honestly a solid take. People seem to lack media literacy and don't see things past a surface level. Or they only look at what people are saying ABOUT the subject without actually viewing it themselves, which is the equivalent of reading a news article headline and nothing more. People also seem to forget that there is a lot more to a show than just writing. I love the show but do think it is a little fast pace. But I also know this is a common thing that happens in shows because creators are given limited time slots and aren't immediately green lit for a second season. Or the song Loser, Baby. Dear god people heard Hust call Angel a loser and then stopped listening.
4:09 I remember going to the comments & seeing a bunch of over controlling psychopath parents thanking Lily for giving then a "concrete" reason not to let their kid watch a children's show. Shit, I feel bad for the kids that wanted to watch the show, but couldn't.
You know i can't help but notice that SU and HH are both made by bisexual people who prominently feature LGBT characters in their most famous work. I wonder if that, even subconsciously, influenced the amount of hate both SU and HH have gotten. Im not trying to say that everyone hating on Rebecca Sugar and Vivziepop are biphobes who hate LGBT people being depicted, but what i am saying is that i have seen allocishet people have outright bigoted depictions of LGBT people and face only a fraction of the backlash Viv and Rebecca are getting
I don't know how Rebecca and Viv are like as people, but making a show with LGBTQ characters as a woman is already a pathway to hatred and backlash. Seeing women have the chance to make their own show, let alone have it be a successful show, is already gonna be an issue to hateful people already. Like, you're free to criticize any piece of media, but sometimes the hate goes a bit too far.
didn't even watch it the thing yet, i like the style and incipit, along with the proto animations the channel did some years ago, but i understand the pain whoever just enjoys it out of "i like that fantasy, it's interesting/makes me feel good" despite surely having some flaws you can pick up, it was the same for me when people started hyper analizing steven universe, taking evewry minimum mixel to find some flaw in the logics or any of that stuff (of course i knew it had flaws scattered all around)
The amount of times I've seen the annoying Hatedom for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss say "how can anyone enjoy these shows, theyre such bad writing" "the shows are like fanfiction made by a 14 year old thats edgy and has a lot of swears" and then proceed to shame people who like or are fans of Vivziepop's shows pisses me off. Like leave the shows and the fans alone if you hate them so much.
Sarcastic Chorus actually makes some good criticisms of the show, though. The biggest one being it's pacing. They're trying to fit in so much that not everything pays off as much you would hope. But, still, I believe Hazbin Hotel doesn't suffer too greatly from it, and it's really great, just, uh, wanted to put it out there. I'm supposed to be sleeping rn, I'm passing out, goodnight.
Considering a normal season would have 20-24 episodes at the very least and Hazbin only got to have eight... Well, I just think they did what they could with the resources available. I also understand that there's already a 2nd season in the works, so if the writing crew chose to keep s1 this way it's because it was the best possible outcome for the situation they're in
I think that criticism is valid but I don’t think that is the fault of the show, but more of the fact that these streaming services are only giving these shows 10 or less episodes rather than more than that
I believe the episode limit (8 episodes) are why the pacing can be a problem for some people. I get everything that is happening and they don’t really drop what happened in previous episodes. Like Angel’s growth, Sir Pentious being friends with the gang, Charlie’s progress with trying to get Heaven’s attention, And from that sneak peek for next episode, Alastor may tell Charlie the truth about the exterminators that was told in the early part of the season. Even the characters that appear like Lucifer, Cherri Bomb, and Mimzy while brief, help you gain an insight of the main cast and they just bring fun to the story.
something i find funny is people are often like "vivzies only jokes are that she swears!!" but like aren't they being a hypocrite?? cause thats the only joke THEY'RE making?
Finally someone says it! that "Are we watching the same show?" line hit because I feel that way whenever I see hugely negative videos show up while I'm scrolling 😮💨
nowadays, people with platforms are held to unrealistically high standards and it just makes me wanna bite into a lemon (rind and all). not every piece of media can be flawless, and we shouldn't discredit said piece of media because the creator is "a horrible person". if we all followed the same moral code content creators had to follow, we'd all be screwed. i don't know how/when this became such a massive and reoccurring issue online, but i'm willing to place my bets on whatever the hell 2020 was. | there's just so much unnecessary negativity everywhere, and people should be able to enjoy things they like without getting bashed on for it. LORD. sorry for this complete and utter mess of words, thank you for making this video. you seem like a genuine guy and i seriously appreciate you, as well as every other chill person in this comment section.
Theres a really good video that goes through that lily orcard 'why su is garbage' video point by point and discusses where they are wrong or purposely misleading. It's called 'lily orcard is wrong and here's why' by hiding in private. I've stopped subscribing to Sarcastic Chours because of shit like this. I just wanna enjoy things and it feels like everything people hate about the next big thing to hate is just spitful nitpicks. Too much bs in life to just hate on good things for no reason. Also that character is named Cherri Bomb, and she isn't gone, she just hasn't made her show debut yet.
@@doomer5467 because the reason I subscribed to them in the first place was their break down about ship relationships in shows, both fanon and canon, but after years of waiting for this landmark show the first videos they put out were not about the canon relationships, or the hints that Vox was interested in Alastor, but criticisms about the episodes. There were definitely things to criticize, but right after finally getting the show I wanted positivity, I wanted to immerse myself in the theory crafting and discussions about the things done right and how it was so worth waiting for. The issues I felt were all small nitpicks, nitpicks that might get resolved based on how the season plays. I think it’s silly to complain about the wrong start or the ‘ruined premise’ (I have a whole issue with that but whatever) when we don’t have the full picture yet. I’m just disappointed in their channel and don’t really wanna engage with them anymore.
@@The_dandy_zombie he’ll probably touch on ships and theories later on. The show just came out, after all. Though I can see your point and respect your opinion.
@@doomer5467 I’d just rather celebrate the release when it’s just come out. There is plenty of time to criticize the very real issues after the shows had a full chance to present itself. It doesn’t feel productive or interesting to nitpick a show that is still airing. The ‘problems’ perceived could be a 100% purposeful choice that reveals itself to be a genius choice with the full context of the season. Or it could stay a problem. The point is that going out of your way to immediately be negative about it just feeds the machine of people that have never watched it and use just the title of the video to justify not giving it a chance at all.
i usually watch negative reviews of shows so i can understand writing and know what people do wrong, or because i just wanna watch something related. but i've pretty much bailed on any videos that critique HB or HH. both for different reasons. for HB i do genuinely think there's a big problem and it's the writing, they're all right about that. but every video jsut says the *same thing* over and over and. Not that it isn't a problem, it's a big one, just EVERYONE says it so there's no value out of pretty much any HB critique video anymore. as for hazbin, most of the stuff i've seen has been complaining about things that could very well not be issues as things get revealed as the season progresses, OR as you said, tiny nitpicks that get overinflated. i don't remember who i was watching but someone literally ranted about how vaggie's whole like, self worth crisis in episode 3 was too early for like 5 minutes straight, and brought up like 2 other points i don't remember. they're all correct, yes. but does it mean the entire show is mid? no.. not in my opinion at least.
This behaviour exists in every fandom space, it’s why I don’t really engage in many fandoms anymore. Because the hatedom floods the space with negativity before you even get a chance to enjoy the things you like.

Sadly also applies to the fanatics who think any negative view on ANYTHING in the show is a personal attack, I mean FFS in Dragonball Super there was an episode that had some shockingly bad animation at tone point in it. If you dared even mention it you got attacked, for simply pointing out it didn't look finished and must of been rushed out.
So I have watched sarcastic chorus' videos and I'll say this much, while I wish he had more positive things to say about the show I do agree with the criticisms he has in many places aswell, especially about the line in the intro, or just how that intro was forced into being diagetic even though it made no sense, would have been fine if it had been omnipotent narration. I love Hazbin Hotel, I am going to keep watching it, the songs are brain worms and the characters, animation, backgrounds and sound effects are all great, a huge leap in quality from the pilot regardless of how you feel about the changing of the voice actors (both casts are fantastic) EDIT: I just wanted to add that I realised you were talking about Lily Orchard when you brought up SU criticism. I fell into the trap of watching her videos about things I hadn't watched, like SU, just because I watched her Legend of Korra videos and liked that show. I liked LOK less than avatar the last airbender, which is probably why I found those videos interesting in the first place. I can safely say I no longer watch her videos nor would I want to watch videos from someone with such a polarised negativity bias, I genuinely enjoy the media I choose to watch.
100% and that’s kinda my stance with sarcastic chorus. Ik he’s often very fair so I wouldn’t put him in the same box as lily orchard. I was just showing him because he made 5 videos in the span of a week to show just how much of a content farm it is to be negative about the show.
@@tooawkwrd I liked what you had to say on the subject, it does feel like a lot of the negativity directed at the show is an effort to stay relavent/trending, but I appreciate that people can also be honest with their thoughts about it. I think the show is great and I don't think the negativity online should take away from our enjoyment of it.
Sarcastic Chorus's reviews are probably the best about the show you can find. Pacing is a HUGE problem and greatly cripples all the genuinely good concepts the series has unfortunately.
it's such a good observation that some shows just become content farms and feed off the negativity. TH-camr Hiding in Public has speculated that that SU video you mentioned made like 20k-50k.
can't wait for people to draw charlie shaking hands with hitler because "he wants to change" like people did with steven /s EDIT: I know the su video you're talking about and. lily orchard (the person who made the video and has her own rabbit hole) hasn't even seen the episode pool hopping, an episode that showed garnet's fears regarding her future vision... also a painting was made, which is seen in the movie that lily thought was "rebecca's poorly disguised fetish" because steven is naked in the painting. she would know steven wasn't actually naked when it was painted if she SAW THE EPISODE IT'S FROM. anyway, tangent aside, she claims that garnet never got development regarding her future vision, DESPITE THE FACT that pool hopping is an episode that exists. EDIT 2: cherry bomb is in episode 5 or 6

Thank you I’m so tired of people not forming their own opinions not to mention if you go into a show already hating it your not going to see anything good or positive about it..
just stumbled across this channel and I must admit your content is so much more refreshing than the content i've been seeing all around because there's no obnoxious background music or annoying editing, no minecraft parkour in the background, and it's not stretched out to half an hour, but rather it's just you being very chill and giving your honest thoughts. This kind of content is really underrated. Even though hazbin hotel may not be my type of show, I wouldn't go out there and just blatantly rip on every single thing wrong with it and spend time harrassing the show's creator on twitter.
At least with Steven Universe, people didn’t start mindlessly hating it until around when the fifth season was airing so there was a time when being apart of that fandom was still at least enjoyable. Hazbin hadn’t even come out when it started gathering a hatedom which sucks as people have been waiting years for it to come out only for a handful of people to ruin the experience for everyone else
I've been saying exactly this! this whole hazbin hate bandwagon is reminding me *way* too much of the steven universe hate back in the day. I never watched steven universe but the hate for it i saw a few years ago was insane and i kept thinking "There's no way this show abt crystal gem people deserves this amount of hate-??" and thought all of it was insanely unwarranted. People just jump on the hate train cause it's popular to hate, and will get them likes and views and whatever. Not to mention the insane amount of misinfo about viv circling around, this woman gets so much hate it's actually crazy. Most of it has been debunked and was over a decade ago, i swear these people do 0 research and just believe 1 tweet they saw
The most annoying thing is that there are genuine criticisms to be had about Vivzie's shows, but it's always drowned out by the goofiest most disingenuous nonsense. For every one person criticizing Hazbin for its overly rapid pacing, there's another ten whining about curse words and their personal dislike of the artstyle.
What ever happened to "I don't personally enjoy this thing, so I will not engage with it, without making a big deal out of it, and understand that just because I don't like something, that doesn't mean its poor quality" Like I didn't enjoy Lord of the Rings, but I know why its still a good set of movies/ books, and why tons of other people love it so much. When will people learn that if you don't like a thing, you don't have to interact with it online :') (And if you DO interact with it, positively or negatively, your recommended algorithm will KEEP GIVING YOU MORE) Quick edit: Also wanna add that people who don't enjoy something are still allowed to make genuine criticism (like Pyrocynical's vid about Hazbin), but so much of this hate is just people not enjoying stuff in the show out of personal taste, or people who haven't even watched the show that just parrot what other people say. That dude talking about Adam and the Cherubs has also VASTLY misunderstood the plot of the show, cause yes, thats the whole point. Heaven (in this show) DOES unfairly give some people a pass when they likely don't deserve it, and IS generally unfairly discriminatory. THIS IS THE PLOT OF THE SHOW :')))
I actually almost swore off watching Hazbin hotel because of my own preconceptions about "DeviantArt / Tumblr" people being the target audience, and seeing TH-cam flooded with those Sarcastic Chorus type videos was actually annoying the shit out of me so bad that I went and watched the first 4 episodes out of spite, and then binged the rest of all of it the following day as well as both seasons of Helluva Boss. If its THIS POPULAR, why are they pretending to hate it?
plus the studio only gave her team 8 eps to work with, which many seem to forget- they are doin their best and i love it 0:47 we got season 2, so we shall be fine
What amazes me about a lot of the Helluva and Hazbin hate is how surface level or vain it is. There are a lot of things that the shows do handle poorly (mostly on HBs side.) Lore is rarely actually explained in the show, Millie and Loona get little to no development for main characters, Hell's caste hierarchy is largely pointless, there can be awkward tone shifts between drama and comedy, ect. However, most of the people who complain about the show throw out complaints like "they swear too much," "too many people have shark teeth," "there's too much red." And 90% of the time it's like, who the hell cares? Those are things that they personally don't enjoy about the genre or art style, subjective tastes, and yet they use them as justification to belittle or mock people who *do* like those things. There are things that that show is objectively doing wrong, shortcomings in how its handling it's story or characters. But most of the time those shortcomings are outweighed by the show's good and people hating on the show never bring up those valid reasons to call it bad, instead opting for the most childish and basic things to latch onto.
I actually watched all of Sarcastic Chorus' videos, and he's actually one of the only people with a sane take on this show. He's a fan of it, he wants it to succeed (as Vivzie is an indie show runner and good for her), but he also gives fair critiques because unfortunately, in my opinion, the writing really does fall flat in a lot of areas. But most people don't CARE about genuine criticisms or making the show better. Their "criticisms" are just thinly veiled attempts at hating this show. The way people act it's like this show killed their entire family, like, it's insanely toxic.

Also his biggest issue is clearly directed at those at fault, the execs for not giving Vivz more time/episodes to tell her story.
I think it's the mark of true cultural icon of a show that it has a large fandom AND a large anti-fandom. Even the haters are contributing to its success.
To be fair. Sarcastic Chorus is far from being a mindless hater like the current twitter mob. The dude is very respectful towards the creators and his criticism is more often than not in good faith and never fails to give praise where its due. Like I cant recall a single video of his on the show where he would do nothing but complain. Even in videos that were just ment to be purely critical he always had something good to say about the show.
I love the show, and have been rewatching it repeatedly so far... My big complaint about the show is the fact that between episode 4 and episode 5 there is maybe a 4 month gap during which important growth for both Angel Dust and Sir Pentious happens. It is like they are trying speed run things that should have more time to be talked about and properly worked through.
Yea sadly with only 8 episodes I don’t think she had much choice. Even with those restrictions I think she’s doing a great job of condensing it.

Which is where the blame goes all on the Execs at Amazon. Seriously execs are the worst, always have been and always will be for entertainment. They just cannot leave things be and have to meddle and leave things up in the air until the last minute
It’s a little scary how I was thinking that the hate reminds me of Steven universe and HERE COME UR VIDEO😂☠️. Dude I completely agree with EVERYTHING u said. ( espically with sarcastic chorus) because his videos r never postive so I don’t watch them anymore😆 whenever I watch on my own, I end up loving it and seeing no problems…until I hit TH-cam.
This is why I just sit back and enjoy the show, it is awesome. People are weird on social media and just all around these days. We never got into arguments about Transformers in the 80's save which one was cooler.
If you're talking about that Lily orchard video she unlisted that due to her video, basically being completely debunked by Hiding in Private Not because she disagreed with what she said but because of all the negative attention her video was getting.

Me personally whenever I like something I enjoy it unabashedly, idc what anyone else thinks or has to say. But the hatedom is seriously insane lmao, the criticism falls over itself too, as if people just hate Viv and use “media criticism” as a kind of veil to attack *her* through *her work* and the fans that like said work. A lot of this is just twitter though, they find something new to cry over every other day with the series, and I’ve seen people have to admit to just enjoying the show like it’s some kind of disease or something lmao. If you like it say you like it my goodness, it’s insane that the hate has gotten so intense that someone feels the need to behave that way towards the show. I’ve seen threads on people complaining over AngelDust’s episode and then at the end of thread admit they haven’t actually seen the episode, so it’s like wtf lol
Yea very strange behavior. I hate that it’s becoming a show that people don’t feel comfortable saying they like. That really irks me especially because it’s a really good show.
@@tooawkwrd funnily enough other socials like YT and tiktok are very positive towards the show, but twitter seems to blow steam out its ears everytime hazbin comes up lol, it’s uniquely bad in that regard. I’ll never understand hatedoms, seems like a surefire way to just remain miserable. Mocking or riffing on something you find dumb is one thing, but genuinely getting upset and angry at a piece of media means it’s best to just disengage.
I can't wait for the back and forth 8 hour breakdowns of the show by queer tumblr artists like "hazbin hotel is garbage for x reasons" and "___ doesnt understand hazbin hotel" in 5 years
Sarcastic Chorus is genuinely frustrating to watch for me at this point. Dude nitpicks constantly and while yeah I was very critical of Viv and Helluva boss (Season 2 mostly), I genuinely love Hazbin Hotel and respect Viv's hard work on it despite it's pacing issues. I'd genuinely recommend Hazbin to a good chunk of the people I know and I'm extremely excited for season 2.
I hate the nonsense hate of the show, I also hate the nonsense ‘this is a perfect show’, I hate it when people start acting like a show can’t be criticized solely because nonsense hate of the show exists. Hazbin hotel has a lot of problems, Vivzie has definitely done problematic things, you can like the show all you want- as long as it makes you happy- but as someone who tried really hard to like the show because I liked the concept and what we were promised… it’s honestly really disappointed me and I’m not too happy with it or Vivzie.
Seriously like ive been seeing all theese hate and critism videos out there and while criticism is totally fine as long as its constructive but sorta hot take here uhm the critism while its okay its fine by me but with all the hate already there its just putting more stress on vivzie as a creator. Hazbin hotel is a show still in progress and it sucks seeing theese people hating on it and the hate videos paint the people who actually enjoy the show as stupid and bad.I dont get why people feel the need to make videos about all the tiny little mistakes vivzie has made on her creations. While I do get that those videos that point those things out arent doing it with bad intention I just think it would be better to address the good parts ofnthe show as well so veiwers dont perceive the show as garbage and miss out on it.
I am someone who decided to watch it became i saw fan art of on Instagram and the comments said it's on amazon prime. I watched it and loves it! I'm a fan of the show Lucifer and Good Omens and thought they would be similar.
Thank you!!! These two shows are prime examples, but i think this is a problem online, especially Twitter. Someone has 1 issue with something, and then everyone jumps on and starts inventing problems. Disingenuous things bother me and i never see anyone point this shit out. This was so refreshing
I agree with a lot of points in the video but one thing I will correct is claiming the timeline of the SU critical community began towards the end. It atually began as early as the Coach Steven episode. I used to be in the SU critical community when I didn't know any better and I saw a lot of the actual beginnings of the community. It was genuinely going on since season 1. The SU critical community just became more of a fad towards the end of the show when before then it was heavily mocked for overreactions from SU crits.
Me and my gf are still rewatching Steven Universe once in a while because imo this show has catered to my inner queer child struggling with life. It is like Bluey or BeeandPuppycat to us and to me that applies to Hazbin Hotel - relatable comfort shows. I used to be on Deviantart seeing Viv doing amazing stuff! Ngl her style reminds me of my inner cringe emo kid who really wants to do whatever it wants and ngl we need more of this energy back in this day and age. People wasting time on the internet trying to occupy themselves by redirecting their frustrations of everyday life on a random cartoon show... People need to touch grass frfr.
4:39 that is so weird. I watch Steven Universe completely (Right after the movie came out) because the world seemed interesting. I’ve seen bits and pieces over the years but finally decided to watch it. I enjoyed it. Genuinely. So all this hate came out of nowhere. Maybe I just like garbage media. I can’t imagine spending that much time obsessing on something I hate.
There have been a lot of shows that I "hate myself for liking" (Garth Marengi's Darkplace, for one), but I honestly love Hazbin Hotel. There are so many reasons that I SHOULD hate it - a lot of its characters are terrible people; its depictions of angels as being unbelievable p****s; one of my best friends won't even look at it because he's a devout Catholic. I love it, though, because despite all the bad language and sexual situations, it's about a small group of people trying to rise above what they are. Angel Dust - a creature that I initially had nothing but contempt for transformed him/herself into an object of pity with the song Poison. That level of writing and characterization just hasn't been seen anywhere in years.
Reeks of jealousy. These people can’t stand to see others succeed because they know they’d never have the courage or the work ethic to create a piece of art that actually affects people. Throw a bit of progressive moral grandstanding and you’ve got a recipe for endless seething and coping. That’s your average daily Twitter user.
Internet is too good at giving more notice to polarised opinions than anything, and I actually hate it: I loved TONS of animations these years (e.g. Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Murder Drones, TADC, Helluva Boss and now Hazbin Hotel) and I created an opinion for each of them, looking at their unique good and bad traits, and I think that there are lots of people who don't know how to objectively criticize (or review) certain things without being exaggerating or overreacting, what a shame.
Hazbin like any show, has flaws, but like holy? Every single time an episode came out it’s like people raged watched it just to criticize it, NONE STOP. the creator itself has done a lot of shitty things, it’s good to call her out for it especially when she does not listen. But the show? So many people worked on it and poured they’re heart out into it. At this point the hate is getting so annoying it’s like I can’t enjoy it without people telling me it’s trash 😭😭😭 let people have fun goddamn.
I mostly have a problem with the pacing of the show and some writing decisions. I feel the show would greatly benefit from longer or more episodes, both even! It has so much it wants to tell that nothing really gets fleshed out fully or it’s just rushed through. I was so excited for the show after the pilot dropped and later it was announced to have been picked up by a studio but so far it’s left me kinda disappointed. The hotel itself doesn’t even feel like the focus anymore, like we’re halfway through the season already and we have barely seen any form of redemption happen.
I feel like the blatantly obvious situation is that Amazon did not give them enough episodes to make a well timed series but still told them to wraps up a plot line by the end. This happens all the time, it’s whatever. But people only want to blame or praise the face of the project. People aren’t capable of critical thinking anymore where you can think the show is rushed and still like it. If it’s rushed you don’t have to blame the creator, but you can blame the media landscape. People seem to think one individual has absolute power over things nowadays. This mindset goes all the way from politics to goddamn cartoon studios
I liked the video dude it' chill my only real criticisms for Hazbin in that the music hits outta nowhere and can be a bit of jumpscare sometimes and the pacing of the show is chaotic with the time skips so I hope in the second season we will get maybe double the episodes or as many it needs to spread the story out along with character development that is more eased and nurtured in rather than character development coming during or just after a song all that aside I love the show and all the characters and it's story so far
It's all about jealousy, bro. They couldn't make what she did so they spread hate. On the other hand, I saw kids doing those sh*t just because people do or also because "I want to watch it but my parents won't allow me to do so" and I don't get it... When you go on the Prime, the caption says "for adults" and I was like "WAIT- WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT PARENTS!? JUST DON'T! Wait a few years until you're an adult." Anyway, everytime there's something people get hyped for, some would always complain because "No Free Access", "Rushed", "Too Musical", well, not your taste? Go talk about something you like, don't waste people's time. Personally, I love the show. Even if I wished for more convo and events in the episodes, I still have in mind that they had to make it short due to the deadlines and what they've been asked for. I love the musics, even if I felt like "maybe too many musics per episodes for enjoying it with some family members" (I tried to watch it with mom but, well, even if she liked the 3 first episodes, it was too much for her so I kept watching alone) BUT STILL, I love the show. At least, they managed to make an amazing job on it even with the short deadlines. I wish they could have more time to work on these and maybe splits the episodes but being limited to 8... no wonder why it was a bit rushed. A bit rushed but still SO GREAT. I'm really glad to know there will be a 2nd season. I hope it will work and I'll patiently wait for it. 💖
Yea my biggest complaint with these people is that something this independent should be celebrated. Like this little pilot from TH-cam became a show. And it’s good?!??! I don’t know what these people expected going in, but in my eyes the show blew me away with how good it was.
Honestly I hope people are pretending to be offended. Like, people have been critical of hazbin hotel just because it has swearing and violence. These moral puritans wouldn't be able to watch anything on adult swim or comedy central without having a stroke.
I'm glad I found someone who finally said it, so happy this video came into my recommended. I wish people wouldn't immediately jump on the hate bandwagon and echo opinions they hear online instead of watching the show and forming their own. I don't use twitter (thank god lmao) so I actually haven't seen this hate as much. Idk if this is accurate, but it seems like the general consensus about the show on YT is more positive; on YT I generally try to avoid the content farm clickbait-y hate videos about the show, but from what I've seen even videos that look that way on the surface are actually taking a more nuanced approach and have genuine critiques, which I was really happy to see. It looks like critical thinking isn't completely dead, although after going on Twitter I know why you would feel that way. A video I really enjoyed that I recommend you watch after your experience is this video by a channel I stumbled upon, Spilling the Milk, where they watch all of season 1. They went in fully expecting to be haters but ended up genuinely enjoying/appreciating the show and got really into it, it was really cool to see. It's nice that some people are still able to give things a chance, even if they have the urge to hate on them.
i think the only real issue us there is no down time between set pieces. i think the only issue is not enough episodes so nothing can breath and thus its crowded.
it really is, down to the hate campaign against the creator. from what i've seen vivienne has done things ranging from distasteful to legitimately harmful (not inviting the og hazbin voice cast to the show's premiere, telling other indie creators an employee is mentally ill after said employee showed interest in working on other projects, etc). yet those genuine critiques get overshadowed by ppl make shit up to content farm likes and engagement
@@BlooMonkiMan she made a big apology post back in 2019 in which she admit to and apologized for her old stuff, saying she'd be better moving forward. the problem is that ppl keep circulating that same old stuff which leads to her most recent faults getting overshadowed

I will say this! Vivziepop is not a good person. She has drawn b3astial1ty, had a pro-gr@pe storyboard artist for music video depicting gr@pe. (censorship due to youtube moderation.)

This is why I hate people. And the internet sometimes.
@@sharksbean You think there is that much tought process, its just fun to hate the shit out of somehing with some noticable flaws

Exactly 🤙
I think they enjoy them by hating it so much. In other words enjoying the hate they create over the show .
In the internet people are "social warriors", but in real life, they dont move a finger for social changes or world problems, I am not saying you cant critic or hate a show, I am saying if you are going to make a big problem of a show that you claim its hurting others and wanting to be praised for it, you also should have this same atitude with direct problems that are proven to be hurting people
P.S.: When I say you I dont mean you guy from the comment.
💯
Honestly with all the hate I saw them getting (even before episode 1 aired) I thought it was gonna be a disaster but to my surprise when I watched episode 1 myself I was a little confused as to why so many people had hate for it ? I'm sure there's flaws because let's be honest : every show is gonna have flaws somehow but it has been blown way out of proportion.
Same thing for the voice actor changes : people were so incredibly negative to see that years after the pilot they would choose other (more qualified) people to voice act and I'm like ???? Besties this is a great show with people that have acted on BROADWAY... that's incredible ?? and their voices fit their characters very well (in my personal opinion better than before, probably because they gained some credibility and had more options because of it.)
I find it sad that before we were supposed to root for vivzie because she's an indie. What she and her team did was incredible, and now finally when she gets the success with her show that she deserves people turn on her for every little thing? It's so two faced from the community tbh and I'm disappointed with how much unnecessary hate it's getting
👍🏻
I got nothing against the new cast but Vivziepop as a person is pure trash and she fucked over the people who made her show into what it is today and for that I got no respect for her or the show
@@jadenyuki518
- I heard some of them auditioned but apparently didn't make it.
Fun fuct: Angel Dust is voiced by Steven Universe italian voice actor. The circle is now complete 😂😂😂
And Mimzy is voiced by Spinel’s VA
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT! The ''making the creator seem like the worst person ever'', the ''don't support this trash because-'', bashing the writing, misunderstanding the characters and themes and don't get me started with the death threads! I joined the SU fandom when the hating was at it's highest(the s5 finale and the end of SUF). Fortunately, after the hating died down, people started making videos defending SU against said haters(looking at you Lily Orchard). I hope that Viv and her fanbase ignore the haters and give the show the love it deserves.

It's jealousy. Same with Nate Stevenson. Nimona being part of the Oscar noms is mind blowing as a Nimona fan since 2011
I know Viziepop isn’t the greatest person but legitimately they’re trying to find problems on things about Hazbin that other medias have.
Agreed. Ngl it’s hard to find people with actual criticism on the show and not flat out trolling/bashing
oh yeah you dont have any idea to how hate this modern moral purity culture and fandom police it curios that the same generation who critisise the sjw from 2010s now act like then
This is exactly like the Stranger Things season 5 controversy happening with Noah Schnapp and for some reason, people started saying that if you watch season 5 you support genocide and I'm like, WHAT?!
Why isn't she the greatest person? just because someone online says she's bad, doesn't make it true
i like valentino as a character but not as a person. he’s well written. the abuse scene felt very real. “are you bringing me fresh meat” “i can make you a star” he’s always looking for ways to manipulate and make money
5:46 the funny thing is, in episode 6 they address that, calling out the double standards of heaven, so it was very much intentional, but people just jump on the hate train without knowing the context
and also because adam was the first soul in heaven so he kind of set the standard for that specific time period
literally tho 😭 i've seen people claim that "hazbin critical" is the new "su critical" and i could not agree more. i adore this show, i've been following it and helluva since they came out, but there are flaws to be had, and that's ok!! every piece of media has flaws, and i personally think ppl should be focusing on things they enjoy instead of watching a show they hate, making melodramatic posts and videos about it, and sending cat snuff videos to the creator and her fans (yes this has happened on more than one occasion)
one of the most cancerous parts of modern internet culture (and maybe just culture in general tbh) is hate-watching. like bro, you don't even like the show, so why are you watching it?? hate-watching is how velma got a second season.
listen, you do not have to like the show or viv, i don't give a shit, but stop making hate posts and these content farm ass videos with the most clickbaity thumbnails and titles ever. please. i am begging you, my children are starving from the lack of good faith criticism.

At the beginning of each episode of Helluva Boss(it's set in the same universe), one of the things the warning warns viewers about is swearing.
@@KikoElGatitoYeah, I had that thought, it's SO fucking ironic.
@@rainpooper7088yeah but in english “what the damn” doesn’t exist
My guy is spittin facts. I like how Twitter is like: it glorifies abuse. While it basically makes a whole song about how bad it is. And when there's another song about how despite the fact that their life may suck they can suck together, and Twitter decides to call it a song about victim blaming, a song with a really wholesome message is about victim blaming like what were they smoking?
Great video by the way
Thanks, someone had to say something lol

That's lack of media literacy for you :( @@kamikeserpentail3778
i think what's crazier is that in lily's steven universe video she dedicates so much time to comparing the diamonds to nazis and trying to present the ending as them redeeming nazis.... when they very clearly arent supposed to represent nazis. theyre a blatant metaphor for capitalism, yet lily's so dense that the only comparison for "dictators" she can think of are nazis (not even hitler specifically, just every person adhering to nazi ideaology, ig). then she calls rebecca sugar (a jewish woman w actual-familial ties to holocaust victims) a nazi and nazi sympathiser, then DOUBLES DOWN on calling her a nazi in her recent vid last year... all because she's decided it'll be a good idea to review media whilst severely-lacking in media literacy. she needs to just stick to the mlp fanfics and step away from art analysis
Dear god people heard Hust call Angel a loser and then stopped listening.
well said, i didn't even catch wind of the "Loser, Baby" backlash. thank god i didn't.

Like South Park's trans episode?
queer people are definitely held to higher standards even by our own communities in many regards, ive seen it time and time again
I don't know how Rebecca and Viv are like as people, but making a show with LGBTQ characters as a woman is already a pathway to hatred and backlash.
I'm supposed to be sleeping rn, I'm passing out, goodnight.
lol, have a good rest and thanks for the comment
Considering a normal season would have 20-24 episodes at the very least and Hazbin only got to have eight... Well, I just think they did what they could with the resources available. I also understand that there's already a 2nd season in the works, so if the writing crew chose to keep s1 this way it's because it was the best possible outcome for the situation they're in
I think that criticism is valid but I don’t think that is the fault of the show, but more of the fact that these streaming services are only giving these shows 10 or less episodes rather than more than that
Maybe it's a little fast, but musicals kind of are.
And one needs to take into account their time budget.
The Amazing Digital Circus is actually now the most popular indie-animated pilot

Also that character is named Cherri Bomb, and she isn't gone, she just hasn't made her show debut yet.
Wait, why did you unsubscribe to Sarcastic Chorus?
@@The_dandy_zombie wasn't SC vid on Hazbin hotel being ruined in his opinion only?
i usually watch negative reviews of shows so i can understand writing and know what people do wrong, or because i just wanna watch something related. but i've pretty much bailed on any videos that critique HB or HH. both for different reasons. for HB i do genuinely think there's a big problem and it's the writing, they're all right about that. but every video jsut says the *same thing* over and over and.
I love Hazbin Hotel, I am going to keep watching it, the songs are brain worms and the characters, animation, backgrounds and sound effects are all great, a huge leap in quality from the pilot regardless of how you feel about the changing of the voice actors (both casts are fantastic)
EDIT: I just wanted to add that I realised you were talking about Lily Orchard when you brought up SU criticism.
The line in the intro is no longer valid considering what happened in episode 6
@@SlashKilll Yeah I agree, I'm really happy with how the last two episodes played out.
it's such a good observation that some shows just become content farms and feed off the negativity. TH-camr Hiding in Public has speculated that that SU video you mentioned made like 20k-50k.
Crazy
can't wait for people to draw charlie shaking hands with hitler because "he wants to change" like people did with steven /s
EDIT: I know the su video you're talking about and. lily orchard (the person who made the video and has her own rabbit hole) hasn't even seen the episode pool hopping, an episode that showed garnet's fears regarding her future vision... also a painting was made, which is seen in the movie that lily thought was "rebecca's poorly disguised fetish" because steven is naked in the painting. she would know steven wasn't actually naked when it was painted if she SAW THE EPISODE IT'S FROM. anyway, tangent aside, she claims that garnet never got development regarding her future vision, DESPITE THE FACT that pool hopping is an episode that exists.
EDIT 2: cherry bomb is in episode 5 or 6
Why shouldn’t Hitler be allowed to change? There’s also no real reason for him to *not* want to.

Thank you I’m so tired of people not forming their own opinions not to mention if you go into a show already hating it your not going to see anything good or positive about it..
At this point they would probably nag even at the most smallest of things like a frame having a error juat to annoy her.
I saw them doing this with a frame at the end of loser, baby where one of angel’s arm sets is missing.
just stumbled across this channel and I must admit your content is so much more refreshing than the content i've been seeing all around because there's no obnoxious background music or annoying editing, no minecraft parkour in the background, and it's not stretched out to half an hour, but rather it's just you being very chill and giving your honest thoughts. This kind of content is really underrated. Even though hazbin hotel may not be my type of show, I wouldn't go out there and just blatantly rip on every single thing wrong with it and spend time harrassing the show's creator on twitter.
I miss simpler times when people could just enjoy things.
Fr 😔
When will people learn that if you don't like a thing, you don't have to interact with it online :')
(And if you DO interact with it, positively or negatively, your recommended algorithm will KEEP GIVING YOU MORE)
Quick edit: Also wanna add that people who don't enjoy something are still allowed to make genuine criticism (like Pyrocynical's vid about Hazbin), but so much of this hate is just people not enjoying stuff in the show out of personal taste, or people who haven't even watched the show that just parrot what other people say.
No idea, the only incentive is content but most people aren’t TH-camrs so I really don’t know. Makes you wonder.
Hazbin Haters and Steven Universe Haters arguing over whose more homophobic:
Cherry bomb (the character you where wondering about) was in the trailer so she'll probably have an episode
plus the studio only gave her team 8 eps to work with, which many seem to forget- they are doin their best and i love it 0:47
we got season 2, so we shall be fine
Love the pfp
Underrated shit man we need more people defending this show and literally just chilling
"The backlash to the backlash to the thing that's just begun"
When I read some of the hate comments you can clearly tell they have never watched the show
Why are people like this?
Oh god su crit freaks being confronted ekth actual adult themes. No wonder this has been such a nightmare
"If you don't like something, is not always because is bad, if not, because you aren't the target audience".
Once again I'm glad I found this video bc I just told my friends about how I like the show and I'm fighting for my life rn 😭
I think it's the mark of true cultural icon of a show that it has a large fandom AND a large anti-fandom. Even the haters are contributing to its success.
that is an UNGODLY amount of tabs oh my god
🫣
you should see mine lol (i usually have like 90 fucking tabs (what the hell liz!?!??) )
Some people have nothing to do.
That’s great to hear, I figured as much based off the few videos I’ve seen
The pilot is canon but they honestly should of just added it to Amazon prime as a special or smth
i agree, it probably had to do with paying the old voices and animators and amazon wasn't trying to do that lol
we did get to see her in the trailer for a minute so yes
It’s a little scary how I was thinking that the hate reminds me of Steven universe and HERE COME UR VIDEO😂☠️. Dude I completely agree with EVERYTHING u said. ( espically with sarcastic chorus) because his videos r never postive so I don’t watch them anymore😆 whenever I watch on my own, I end up loving it and seeing no problems…until I hit TH-cam.
This is why I just sit back and enjoy the show, it is awesome. People are weird on social media and just all around these days. We never got into arguments about Transformers in the 80's save which one was cooler.
It was Soundwave by the way. lol
If you're talking about that Lily orchard video she unlisted that due to her video, basically being completely debunked by Hiding in Private Not because she disagreed with what she said but because of all the negative attention her video was getting.
It's true ?! Her video about Steven Universe is deleted ?!!
How are we, humans, still on the top of the food chain, if THIS is what people are doing nowadays?
You got it backwards a Little. We arent on top of the foodchain, we any% noclipped the foodchain and Broke it. Thats why we are even in the Position to do shit like this.
The amount of people criticising a show while proudly exclaiming they’ve never watched it is insane 💀
I’m doing a more in depth video that does exactly this on my main channel
@@tooawkwrd will definitely be watching that once it's out
I am someone who decided to watch it became i saw fan art of on Instagram and the comments said it's on amazon prime.
I like hazbin hotel to and personally think episode 4 was the best episode of the first season so far 👌 😍
as someone from the future, cherry bomb wasnt forgotten :)
You definitely don’t like garbage my friend
Internet is too good at giving more notice to polarised opinions than anything, and I actually hate it:
I loved TONS of animations these years (e.g.
Yea that behavior has to stop, the show really doesn’t deserve it
I mostly have a problem with the pacing of the show and some writing decisions.
Exactly. No one wants to have THAT conversation for some reason.
JUST DON'T! Wait a few years until you're an adult."
Anyway, everytime there's something people get hyped for, some would always complain because "No Free Access", "Rushed", "Too Musical", well, not your taste?
@tooawkwrd I think the same,I hope they'll calm their frustrated souls though, but for the moment, LET'S CELEBRATE IT AND ENJOY IT! 🎉🎉 ^^
Oh I love those guys, been watching them for a while. Glad to know they enjoyed the show.
I’ve seen people who just post about how much that hate vivziepop and it makes me feel ashamed as a massive enjoyer of her work
i think the only real issue us there is no down time between set pieces. i think the only issue is not enough episodes so nothing can breath and thus its crowded.
it really is, down to the hate campaign against the creator. from what i've seen vivienne has done things ranging from distasteful to legitimately harmful (not inviting the og hazbin voice cast to the show's premiere, telling other indie creators an employee is mentally ill after said employee showed interest in working on other projects, etc). yet those genuine critiques get overshadowed by ppl make shit up to content farm likes and engagement
makes you wonder if the things she actually did were doctored...
@@BlooMonkiMan she made a big apology post back in 2019 in which she admit to and apologized for her old stuff, saying she'd be better moving forward. the problem is that ppl keep circulating that same old stuff which leads to her most recent faults getting overshadowed
Awww! You're so cute, not messy! 😁
I really enjoyed your vid and I kinda have to side with you there. Some people hate, just to hate. People are such garbage sometimes, and I think a lot of it comes from the fact that they're mad or upset about other things irl but rather than deal with that, they displace those feelings on internet shit because they feel a sense of freedom, that whatever consequence they might face for being a dick online isn't bad enough to outweigh how much they enjoy venting their frustrations.
I'll definitely check out the main channel, but these little chill vids are nice to. We get to see our very handsome narrator after all. 😘😉
