When you get a brand new bike, you expect it to act like one. You paid for all of the power, so where is it at? This Yamaha MT-10 SP came in looking for a bit more power and what we found in the factory tune was crazy! Not only is the AFR readings WAY off, but the throttle restriction was massive. In this video, we go over what to expect with a new 2022 MT10 sp. The drive by wire, the electronics and factory restrictions that come along with it. We were able to gain 30hp by cleaning up the tune and putting the proven power touch on it. This bike did come in with a 3/4 austin racing exhaust with a cat delete which helps, but even with an aftermarket exhaust, even a slip-on, a custom tune is truly the way to go to ensure your new exhuast is able to do it’s job and add power to your motorcycle. Great video pretty informative, I've got an MT10SP 2023 and i'm just running it in before i get it flashed, i'm just doing a de-cat and air filter, i hope i can get as good a result as your tune........
You will, they are so bad from the factory to meet emissions the throttle is choppy as hell. In fact decat it without a tune and you will lose around 10 HP because it leans it even more. These are great bikes you will be amazed how great when he is done.
interesting video thank you, i ve seen a couple having new exhaust system and then power seemed to be off, but tbh this is nothing new and happens more often than not.. the best would be a before and after comparison (with and without the upgraded exhaust and filter) however this shows how important it is to get your bike tuned for new exhaust systems esp when you decat and change the airfilter.. that ratio was bad !! great results !!
What if you use r1 22 cylinder head on it can you bull more horses out of it .
One question, I want to put a Yoshimura AT2 exhaust on my MT10, but because of the country I live in, it is very difficult for me to get a tuner, so I keep the OEM air filter and put the Yoshimura AT2 full system on, I could use the bike like this, the I'm really not interested in power, or running too much. I use the bike for walks or long weekend trips, and I'm not interested in getting more power. Could I continue using my bike normally?
Had my MT 10 SP 2022 flashed by BT-moto. Great flash, completly changed the bike for the better. Only mods are black widow titanium link pipe and akrapovic end can.

Very typical gain from a flashed mt10, my '18 produces 152whp on 2WDW dyno with a 3/4 Yoshi Alpha T decat system. I live in Seattle area so I can bring it straight to them. NOBODY knows more about tuning Yamaha mt's than Nels and Nate at 2WDW. The real magic is riding these bikes after these mods have been made. The wheelbase is shorter than both an R1 and its little brother mt09 so they want to do nothing but wheelie. Out of 30 plus bikes that I've had, this is by far the funnest bike I've ever owned! By the way, I'm 64😮😂
Yeah we have heard good things about 2WDW 👌 it is a very rowdy bike! We test rode one after the tune and it's a lot for a short wheel base, stock height, naked bike!
of course your AFR was lean u have removed a major restriction from the exhaust , why would u be surprised it was lean
I do this on a daily basis. A lot of the new bikes are running very rich from the factory lately, believe it or not. R7, Z900, the new gen 3 busa are 3 that come to mind immediately. This one follows suit like the R1's and kind of like the ZX10Rs but on a more extreme level.

Any chance flash ECU without motorcycle on dyno?
Yes we can do a bench flash, or mail in flash, on this bike as well without it being on the dyno

Wierd low hp .
In europe/sweden mt10 without tune do alot more . Around 145 ish .
In the US, the ECUs are more restricted on power.
