- A short video showing how long each of the ship turrets can fire using their own internal ammunition storage on Space Engineers and emphasizing the importance of having independent ammo boxes right under the turrets themselves for some of the turrets
The inventory size is set to the default survival settings

Missile turrets really need an update to make them viable again.
I'm wondering if the whole AI thing is going to lead to tracking missiles in future. With either the current missiles becoming tracking, or the current dumb fire ones getting buffed at the same time as the tracking ones are introduced.
They only need to increase the range to match the assault cannon at least, even if they aren't accurate at that range it would be devastating against slow or stationary targets
Yeah increasing their range or making them homing might help c=
Rails 3000m
Artillery 2500m
Assault 1800m
Missiles 1200m
Gatling/Auto 1000m
HE/AP shell variants for both Artillery and Assault cannons.
Soft tracking/homing on missiles.
Reduced damage but increased tracking accuracy for gatling turrets.
Large grid AutoCannon turrets.
This is my dream vanilla improvement upon the game.
Aside from just boosting the speed limit.
it reminds me of a time when I put multiple small grid turrets as a subgrid on a large grid, for fun and to see how they performed against drone attacks compared to 1 large grid turret. The problem it had was that the rotor sometimes took a hit and they would stop functioning. so I added a medium cargo to hold the ammo and a battery so it could keep firing even if it was completely detached.
Oo, rip xD and I see c= and yeah they can be fragile like that x -x but good xD
One trick I've seen used (and have used myself) on PVP servers is using cargo sorters to store ammo for turrets. They have more health than cargo containers, carry less ammo than cargo containers and thus are less explosive, and also automatically fill up to their maximum whenever ammo is loaded which makes loading a warship much easier, alongside keeping them topped off during a battle from a central ammo store as ammo is used.
Good to know
Ye they can be useful information x3
It's pretty ridiculous given how large both assault and artillery turrets are
Ye xD I guess the shells are large too x3
LOL its my turret LOL
xD which one
