my favorite one to look at from Europe is from Volksmobile- I like the one where you can park your mini-cooper inside and underneath the RV. The USA does have many large ones- one of the smallest is www.GoLittleGuy.com
Speaking as a 1.67m 83kg Brit (5'6" and err dunno in lbs) I loved it! :-) Some really clever ideas, and nice to see the ol' A-Liner still going strong too.
The average Japanese male is 5'7", the average Causasian American male is 5'10". I am 6'5". Most of these are "cute" but VERY unrealistic. To me, Japanese RV manufacturers are where their automobile builders were in the 70's. Just not quite building for an American consumer. But, when they do, look out! My guess is they will revolutionize the industry. (Also, when I am saying "American," I am saying from the US. Other parts of the America's are a different demographic in terms of size and demands. I can't speak for them.)
why do the Japanese caravans have doors that open on the street side rather than the kerbside? Japan is a right hand drive country like Australia and England after all.
I would get the basic cargo with a roof that raises and lots of windows and do the whole interior ourselves using natural materials as much as possible. Should be able to save some money too, esepecially if you a skilled artisan woodworker in the and can work with metal and bamboo.I would use natural materials and make it all as simple and multifunctional as possible with fantastic feng shui. When I'm staying a few days or weeks and I want to enjoy nature as much as possible, To facilitate that I would add a nice canopy, so I can create a living space outside. This should be very easy to set up to provide shade outside with a rug or something to create a space and sleep out there with a charpoy (traditional Indian bed frame - I love them.
that's the origins of the conversion van- now if you don't want to make your own seats you can buy those- and if you want a pre-made big window you can also buy those. -probably from a firm near Elkhart Indiana
fuck yall you guys have awesome campers these one's are a bit more cool cause of incredible space effeciancy but in NA wer stuck with bullshit so fuck yall
jerry jenkins the kids can earn their own way in the world- then again- if the come to Texas instead they may have a lot of money left. Florida and Arizona look expensive. They saved all that money- let them get out and see the world- Alaska to Argentina by Road.
Nice music....video showed shiny glossy paint, inventive accessories, interior decorations, carpet, the sleeping areas, stove & eating area.... but NOTHING about the ENGINES and nothing on the TRANSMISSIONS.
It's all well and good for the 5 5 150lb Japanese but I'm American...6 1 220lbs. Some of the designs were good but I'd have to Frankenstein a model from a variety of the design ideas. *Bunk beds were interesting. Use the height to zzz then fold it away. Very smart. 9:38 Little gay Japanese guy.
(contd) flexible as possible. Fun project, esepcially knowing that I'll never have to use a hotel room again - unless I really want to for some unknown reason! I can stay in nature and sleep much better and travel more since it will be cheap to do. I'm feeling my innate nomadic bones coming alive again after a lifetime or two of being MAD, (you get mad when you get stuck to one place) now NOMAD anymore.
I noticed all suppliers focused on living area, no one promote the most important part of camping and RV living, the bathroom and shower, look at Hymer motorhomes or Leisure Travel Vans or Road trek. what a waste show.
My guess is that in Japan they probably park in areas where they have facilities. It's a small country, well developed, after all. Very little rural area relatively speaking.
coolspot18 A large portion of japan is wilderness. They were one of the first countries to pass containment policies for corporate pollution after they dramatically damaged their environment during their economic rebuild after WWII,
Didn't you notice that most of the faucets look like little shower heads and are positioned right by the rear hatches??? Hang a shower tent like Sportsmobile doesnhere in America.
A lot of nice motorhomes there. European motorhome manufacturers could learn a lot there!
European market likes huge campers.
solobackpacking so what about the American market then?
tortozza American market likes a full bath and headroom.

The "wave box 12v DC" at 9:42 costs 34800 yin, which is about $80.00. They are sold in America for close to $400.00!!!!
+Ted Nugent 34,800 yen=$305. Not such a big difference,Ted.
I loved it!

We need more vans like in the 70s. With better gas mileage and able to get in a mall parking garage!

TheGreatUtopiaCat That's so retirees can blow their life savings on something to take with them to Arizona or Florida. Fuck the kids generation!

I just had a really scary thought. What if someone saw this video and actually wanted to buy one of these abominations?
The Airstream shouldn't even be allowed on the road.
But they were so shiny and aerodynamic in 1950.
Jesus No need to get cross.

What are you a sissy? Shit in the bushes and take shower in the open. That's a fucking nature, why else come here? People like you disgust me.
+Nestor Visto In fairness, Japan is small and if you have to use the bathroom while "camping" you run half a mile to your home.
Didn't you notice that most of the faucets look like little shower heads and are positioned right by the rear hatches??? Hang a shower tent like Sportsmobile doesnhere in America.
I not buy this crapt ....camp means toilet kitchen oven cooking area
Nbox
Shite music detracts from what would have been a decent video
