    Did you consider buying the Solix 15? I'm thinking of getting one but leaning toward the 12. Also, do you ever use the normal transducer on your trolling motor? or just the 360 now that you have it? Great vid

      I have both a solix 12 and 360 and definitely would not suggest the 15. The power required to run these solixs is EXTREMELY substantial. Even with the 12 it's crazy, recently took my boat in do to low voltage and bad imagery. Turned out the wiring was done wrong on the initial install, MAKE SURE that you get atleast a 10g wire to the battery from the bow. The initial install done by bass pro used a factory 16g which is a big no no. And having low voltage will also lower the image clarity. Also found out my 360 wire was bad which explained why my 360 never gave me even decent images for over a year. So check your wiring and MAKE SURE you have a large enough battery! 31 AGM atleast!

      I’ve had a 15 in the past. Two 12s really allows you to have a unit dedicated to a full screen of whatever you’re looking at. And yes I always run a 2d as well up front on a split screen with my mapping.

    Liked. Thanks! Quick question. Almost all of these demos are for bass and looking for structure and fish towards the bottom it seems. What I want to do is different. I may be at a lake that is 50-100 feet deep but chasing schools of trout that are only about 5 feet deep but they are very active in moving in large areas. Will the Mega 360 work for that application - looking for schools at 5 feet deep and following them while the bottom maybe 50-100 feet down. So looking to scan 360 on the upper water column. Thanks in advance for any insight.

      Yea 360 is also a great tool for suspending fish. I use it all the time on schooling smallmouth

      @@GDPFishing Huge thanks. Great to know. I can't conceive of what that looks like as the only screen shot I see are all showing bottom. Thanks for the assurance.

    Great Video. What is the dark area at the bottom of your circle caused from? I have noticed this on mine also sometimes.

      I think it from your trolling motor prop but I’m no expert

    • @GDPFishing
      @GDPFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on how low you have your 360 pod in the water some times it’ll be high enough to pick up the bottom of your boat.

    Nice video. How do you shut off the global settings so you can control the settings on each unit and not have it affect the other. I’m struggling and hoping for a step by step explanation.

    Just recently purchased a mega 360 and helix 10 not the solix. It won’t let me mark waypoints on the 360 screen. Any advice on setting waypoints and also viewing your waypoints on the 360?? Thanks I’m advance

    • @GDPFishing
      @GDPFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On a Helix you should be able to scroll over to whatever your wanting to waypoint. But as far as them showing up on your 360 screen that’s a Solix only feature as of now I believe. Possible a new update in the future will change that.

    • @Tighterlinesfishing814
      @Tighterlinesfishing814 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can mark waypoints on a helix, but you need a humminbird heading sensor installed to do that

    Why do you have two units on the bow?

    • @GDPFishing
      @GDPFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Makes things easier to see on full screen so 2 units really help on that.

    Hi Greg I’m getting the hummingbird 360 and I would like to get helix dedicate just for the 360 I’m a little confused what features I would need on the helix .

    • @GDPFishing
      @GDPFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty simple for that setup. For Helix you’ll need to buy a 8” unit or bigger plus it needs to be a GN2 GN3 or GN4 unit to be compatible with mega 360. You’ll also need a adapter cable to connect from the 360 to the back of your helix. After you run dedicated power to your 360 pod it’s pretty much plug-and-play.

      On the Helix hit menu. On the top there’s going to be a handful of options. Scroll over to “setup”. From there scroll down to where you see “Select Readouts” tap right and you’ll have options. “Depth” should be one of them. Make sure “Depth” is selected.
