Dear Kings and Things As a saudi young man, I must greatly thank you, for exposing me to such sights that i would have been otherwise unable to see. allow me to express my deep sorrow in this humble letter. I have always been in love with the arts and found solace in baroque and romantic composers, but I unfotuntaly lived in a community where all forms of music was considered demonic and that of devil. I however could not care less of how it would negatively affect my reputation. To imagine living in a society where art is respected and displayed with pride and not shame i am at a loss of my words. Oh god the sleepless nights thinking of this dystopian society, my heartaches and my tears are dry. but in spite of all of that i promise that i will immortalize art within me by learning it and displaying it proudly. I also have a first edition of the 'Essays' of Lola Montez. It’s the little details I find most interesting about history. The ones that put the timeline in perspective, like Ludwig’s sons being notified of his condition via telegraph. It’s odd to think that Napoleon was alive to see the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, that Abraham Lincoln’s coordination of civil war strategy was dependent on telegraph and railroad networks, and that Neuschwanstein Castle was built with a modern steel skeleton construction and its own direct telephone line.
The very eminent role of Bavaria and its monarchy in preserving and nurturing the arts has become somewhat obscure over time. This channel beautifully illustrates the significance of Bavaria as it evolved through centuries. The narrator's command of the English language is admirable. Isleños from the Canary Islands founded St. Bernard Civil Parish, adjoining New Orleans in 1779-1780 during the Spanish colonial period of Louisiana. Just as Spain and her role in the development of Louisiana has been largely forgotten, the role of settlers from the Rhineland in French colonial Louisiana is little known, much less the tremendous 19th century emigration of German speakers from Bavaria, Baden, the Palatinate and Alsace in present day France is overlooked as well. Channels such as this are virally important in establishing a more complete historical context. Thank you very much!
