I was at this show. Still one of the best performances of my life. I remember some idiot throwing fireworks. One kids ear got jacked. The band stopped the shoe at songs end and asked for this to stop. They were sold out four nights in a row..
PedroIncorporated For a good one of part 6 to 9, you could try Montreal, the lap steel part is a bit crap, but the second half is truly irresistible, my ears scream to listen to it every once in a while
Snowy White absolutely smokin' lead. Love that. Totally different vibe than Gilmour but great in it's own right. Now they play in harmony..... love it. Fantastic download....
Snowy White's solo on Part 8 is excellent. It went from a synthesizer and clavinet thing on the album into guitar epicness between David Gilmour on the first half with his Stratocaster and then Snowy's Goldtop Les Paul goes to the races hitting notes higher than Gilmour's Stratocaster. Also Roger playing some creative bass runs as Snowy's solo on Part 8 ends.
Wow this is such a rarity. I always preferred live music than studio recorded tracks. But as I got older and wiser, I had to give up and undertand how a well produced studio album is much better. But once I heard this I can tell there is no studio recorded track better than this. Amazing musicians putting their heart in something made live. It is almost like the difference between fresh food and a can of tuna or a Bic Mac.
If anyone knows of a HD/remastered version of this, please let me know. Even if you read this comment in years to come, still drop me a PM as I will always be interested to hear it. Thanks! :D
I can't give a better vesion of this exact performance, but the Oakland show of this tour got bootlegged and it's an almost studio quality soundboard recording, the bootleg with the best sound quality of all Pink FLoyd Bootlegs to be precise. SOYCD also has a jam similar to this one. Maybe that helps
It has been some time since I heard it first time. This version brings back many memories. Besides, I always get goosebumps at 1:15. Sounds so psychodelic
I've been fond of this particular recording for a long long time... Gilmour has an inspired new addition to the song around [17:20] that starts during Wright's piano solo.
this band has no limit this will stick forever and ever !!! those guys helps u flight away from reality (u need to play it loud cos the neighboors won't let u feel good)
Que emoción debieron pasar los asistentes a este show y con ese final épico, la sensación con la que se deben a ver ido sus fans tuvo que ser que presenciaron algo magistral..yo ni siquiera había nacido..
am I alone in not really caring for most of Snowy Whites work on this tour? Great exemplary player. He wouldn't have been there if he wasn't....BUT... In the Floyd context, to me he sounds like Dave would sound if he was a bit off. Which doesn't usually occur for more than a note or two, lol
I hear it. He really doesn't fit the sound or feel as well. He's a much busier, nastier player than David. I feel like in later tours, he maybe toned it down a bit and started to blend better.
He toured with them and made a solo for Pigs On The Wings with appeared during the In The Flesh? tour and he toured with them during The Wall tour. He now tours with Roger Waters when Roger does The Wall tour. (edit 12/23/16) Roger announced a new tour so, add that to my last post.
Just one of the greatest hired hands of all time. Snowy White. He's right up there with Reeves Gabrels, another world class sideman. Like Hunter and Wagner.....

This is really where Pink Floyd puts all other jam bands to shame.
I wish everyone who enjoyed any sort of pop music would just understand how amazing this video is
Fuck no Grateful Dead top jam band of the 70s
@@sergiomoreira8196 NOPE
Floyd with this masterpiece takes the cake. Phrasing, Chord Progression, Melody, Harmony you name it
@@sergiomoreira8196 apples and oranges. PF drove music further, jerry was better at improv. PF was honestly more of a studio band anyway
Wauw
I was there. Zeppelin, Elp, Yes, Pink Floyd all toured that year.
Me to.
Wow what a year
I really wish I lived in your guys generation :( Being able to see Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Queen live must be the best experience ever.
Aside from the sound quality, this has to be the best live version of a song I have ever heard.
PedroIncorporated For a good one of part 6 to 9, you could try Montreal, the lap steel part is a bit crap, but the second half is truly irresistible, my ears scream to listen to it every once in a while
Any date in particular?
6th July 1977
Owen Dodd Thanks! Will listen to it later.
@@gruffdodd4054 it’s sure amazing! The longest one too I believe, at 23.5 minutes it’s almost as long as echoes!
If anybody listened to this live, you sir/ma'am have lived a life worth living....

omg I love the back half of Shine On...one of their very best pieces musically, up with 2nd half of Echoes...
The end is so moving.
20:50 Arnold Layne..
21:00 Emily tries but misunderstands...
I love you no name moster.
Awesome this for me is by far the best part of the album ......pure genius.....
Definitely the Best live version! 😲
Wow absolutely amazing, so much emotion from music it’s beautiful
Summer of 77....ELP, Yes. Zep, Fleetwood Mac, CSN & Bad Co all played the Garden(and Son of Sam was captured!) What a summer.
Very nice touch, the tribute to Rick.
Syd
seen them 07-02-77 @MSG same week. God is good.
EXCELLENT !!!
Alles sehr schön zusammen gefast, an Bildmaterial excellent .
Leider müßen wir uns 39Jahen mit Bootlegs begnügen ... Traurig !
You can almost hear the Quad system and how they used it on Dave's slide solo. The panning around the entire stadium...
Almost , it’s going round like a orbit 🤣
This is incredible!! excelent upload pinkpig!! You get a tim and eric Great job!

This sounds amazing on headphones. The Quad Panning is so outrageous it's scary
16:35 - 21:51 Waaaaaaaaaaaw
SOUNDTRACK 👍👍👍
I LOVEEEEEEEE
PINK FLOYD!
and don't get me wrong. The recorded album is such a masterpiece.
The recorded version is kinda shit tbh. Sounds so dead compared to this.

I deleted my last comment bc I wrote it like an old man but this version is great
o can hear two guitars making solos, anybody knows who he is?
It's some guy called Snowy White. Apparentally he toured with Pink Floyd as a backing guitarist in the '70s
Snowy White was also a guitarist for Thin Lizzy. Currently plays with Roger Waters

He's in the Pulse video. He toured with Floyd several times since 1977.
