Very nice set up. Im exhausted Donna, I worked all day getting my coops and runs ready for fall and winter. I water sealed the outside of the coops and do a good vinegar bath to the inside walls. Tomorrow LATE EVENING we are going to let TinkerBell free-range as usual AND let all 12 of the younguns out. They are almost her size and she lays beside of their coops and runs to visit. She has her eye on the Barred Rock Rooster already. But in a more friendly way. They rest beside one another but with hardware wire between them. So we're curious how they will do. 🤞
@judywiggins5092 I hear ya. I'm tired, too. It's still so hot, and it just drains me. Sounds like TinkerBell has a future boyfriend. I hope they'll all get along with her. 🥰
That looks great and very workable. Will you have to get more quail for the roos? Mcmurray hatcheries sell them, but 100 at a time😮 I liked them when we got chickens from them. I enjoy watching your peaceful videos!
@misspersnickety3674 Thank you! We're going to get more. I'm going to contact the farm we got them from and see if they'll do anything to make this right also. We were told there was one roo, and now we have 3. It's not a good ratio at all...
Impressive to say the least. Nicely done. I thought a few videos back...I wonder if you have more roos than originally thought...with the way they act, the road would lead to more roosters than expected. We're still waiting for our 14 to come into maturity, should be interesting. Still have my one hen away from the roo and hen she was with...not sure why they turn on one another the way they do. How many eggs are you getting now? That's a huge indicator on your ratio. Thanks for sharing!
We were getting 3 a day. Which isn't great since I should have been getting 5. I'm chalking that up to stress from all the aggression. Now I'm only getting 2. I'm going to give it a couple more weeks and assume it's because I moved everyone and added that stress. If the hens don't all start laying soon, we'll probably cull the ones who aren't along with the single roo. I'm considering ordering some jumbo coturnix eggs and hatching them and starting over. I think my quail are broken. 🤣
@@thecoopscoop The local farm store here just got in bobwhite quails...almost thought about switching it up over here because they are a what I'd guess to be a better quality bird. The quail are finicky to say the least...you just never know what they'll do. It's strange...throughout my time, I've seen these guys turn like a light switch...typically they bounce back quick with change...hopefully yours will too.

Gotta check on Bonnie and Clyde 😂😂
@@charliedallachie3539 They're a happy little psycho couple! 😆
@@thecoopscoop perfect match! 😆
13:00 well….somehow they’ll need to mate if you want more quail 😊
@charliedallachie3539 Not those two. The rest have partners. These will get killed by one of the others or each other. 😳

Just curious, Is chicken dad also an auto mechanic? Would be awesome to have all that garage space to maintain vehicles and do other projects
@charliedallachie3539 No, he loves cars but not working on them. 🤣
@@thecoopscoop maybe he’s like me and just takes apart computers
@@charliedallachie3539 I'm not sure how well he'd put it back together... 🤣
