With Mike Pollock doing the voice acting, it makes feel like the 4Kids cast for the Sonic characters must comeback. Their voice acting would make future generations of Sonic even greater like back 2003 to the first Sonic and Sega racing game, that was how long the 4Kids voice acting lasted there.
It's great to see Robotnik's curious, scientific side expressed in such a rational tone, only to back to over-the-top cackling every time Sonic becomes a topic.
I think in one of the Tails Tube episodes, Eggman said he took care of G.U.N. during Sonic Forces, hence why we didn’t see them trying to stop his global take over. Still unclear if they are still currently active.
@@ghostspider2056 I thought the reason was that Forces took place on a different planet (?) then the Adventure games/06/Unleashed, which is why humans in any capacity don't appear in Forces.
Unironically, I think the last appearance of G.U.N. in any capacity was in Sonic 06 of all things (well except for Generations but that's kind of cheating). Ian Flynn is finally doing what Sega has been too afraid to do, which is to acknowledge the 2000s games in any capacity. Sega can't let go of the past because of 06, which ironically is a game about letting go of the past.

After years of maniacal laughter and great iconic lines, I'm glad Mike Pollock gets to have some down time as Eggman for once in a while. True respect to a long term voice actor.
Flynn really likes to write Eggman huh? I can really see him having so much fun with these memos. I really like how Eggman has changed as well, complementing Sonic and his friends abilities and insulting them at the same time😂 but his relationship with Sage is so different from his other creations, very interesting.
When we hear how Eggman talks about Maria and how envious he was that she was loved after dying when he was still there, it really goes in depth to his character and his motives.
They put a lot of detail to the lore in this game is really impressive and shocking. So many references to past games both main and side games like riders and the latest racing game.
I love Eggman here. I love how they tried to show how analytical he is, the way his attitude shifts whenever he thinks of Sonic and crew, and his pride over Sage as his most "efficient" creation. It's all so good.
I can see an emotional connection coming easier due to the fact that he was trapped alone in there, isolated in an unfamiliar place. It's not his normal, though, so I have to wonder if it would hold now that he's back out.
To be fair, it's not the first time Eggman's been trapped alone somewhere. He was trapped in some white limbo with his past self after Generations, before that he was trapped in Space with only Orbot and Cubot after Colors, etc. Sage is probably different given her more human appearance, not to mention her highly different personality compared to Orbot and Cubot.
he assumed her pronouns were either "it" like the program she was made to be or "she" because she appeared to have a humanoid female form, and was wondering if she wanted to be referred to as the former as created or the latter for what he ended up seeing her as. so he kinda just assumed them and chose them for her really
@@EggEmperor Yeah, like, he immediately went from thinking of her as a program to thinking of her with the potential to grow as a human like entity. He humanized her early on, and considering that Eggman essentially says that his family didn't pay much mind to him growing up because they were grieving the loss of Maria and Gerald, when he could relate because he didn't know them well enough to do so as well... Him latching onto Sage as a fatherly figure and expressing interest if she wants to be referred to as software or as a person is really interesting. He's reacting to this potential lifeform with the intent to not neglect like he'd been. "I wonder if she has a preference" being essentially "I wonder how she thinks of her situation and if that even matters to her." And considering he treats his favorite sentient robots as his "children", and they've all been male coded AI so far ((I think the E-Series, if I recall, were all referred to as "he" and collective used terms like "brothers" among themselves, of the ones that speak)), he's not sure how to approach Sage like he can with Metal, Cubot and Orbot. Sage even muses at some point if the other Eggman Robots would be considered her brothers, specifically using the term "brothers". One of the Sonic Channel artworks set after this game has Eggman programming in a new pair of dress shoes for Sage just so she can have something nice, instead of reworking her to be more like a henchman like his other creations. Sage can grow and learn like an organic being, so he's just wondering if it's right to still refer to her as a non-sentient "it", and choosing to as what she'd prefer instead of insisting that he gets to decide because he made her is just a nice little side narrative on "You don't own your offspring's autonomy". Sage has a choice to do and be who she wants, and she chose to be an ally to Sonic and save everyone, just to be sure Eggman was able to escape Cyber Space. Having a "daughter" is all new to him, and I think really that's what the memo was meant to imply. ... Then again, I might be looking a little too much into it, but I just liked the idea that Eggman was taking time to consider someone else's input instead of assuming he had to be the most correct just because he's the smartest guy there. 👀
Eggman certainly knows he has an ego - he just finds it so humorous that the hero isn't as selfless as others find him to be with his idolized status. He knows better than anyone else how Sonic gets his kicks.
What Iove about these memmos, is that Eggman is always in character, even when he's calm, he's still focused and knows what he wants. Although he seems to care for sage I wonder what would happen if sage suddenly turned good and decided to try to change her dad, or if it looks like sage betrayed Eggman when she didn't. I wonder what other Eggman secrets we will get.
Hypothetical Team Dark memos: I'm surprised to see Shadow here, of all people. I've noticed he seems unfocused, lately. Perhaps spending less time with G.U.N. has made him directionless. He's prone to lashing out. Just wish he didn't do it towards me. I would've loved to see him by my side once again. Maybe learn more about my grandfather, and Maria. His power is wasted competing against Sonic. Now that Shadow's here, it makes sense to see the lovely Rouge sneaking about. There's no need. I'm trapped in Cyberspace and I have no treasure on-hand for her to pillage.... unless she's after Sage, of course. Still, I can't help but miss our truce. I bet if Rouge and Sage teamed up, I'd have solved every mystery this island has to offer by now! Ugh... I was hoping they didn't bring Omega with them. E-123 was supposed to be the pinnacle of my special forces. A robot to nigh equal Metal Sonic in efficiency, without all the errors I made building Beta, Gamma, or Zero! That free will of his not only turned against me, but manifested into endless rage. Against me. At least when Omega decides to demolish my bases, I have an opportunity to study him, and make sure I NEVER make those mistakes again.
2:10 Something I like about that question is on first glance you might think thats him thinking how he would see it, but its not a wrong question to ask. Its actually a good question to ask if there was such a advanced civilization in the world, more advanced than anything else. What would of stopped them from influencing the rest of the world? Dominating it? What kind of cultural, spiritual, or whatever reason did they have to never do so? To be content with just their little place in the world? It would be incredibly fascinating and I no doubt would be giddy at the prospect of learning it.
3:35 I love how starting up from this point the memos start to turn from curious and reflexive to intense and desperate at some points, throughout some moments of warm thoughts about his past and Sage while the loneliness starts to kick in.
I don’t know why but calm eggman is just so…interesting. We finally get a look at what he’s like when he isn’t obsessing over Sonic and how to take over the world. The only ones that would see this side of him are metal sonic and now Sage.
You just know this is done by a longtime Sonic writer when the lore and references are so dense yet make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if Ian Flynn ends up adapting the game's plot to the comics.
5:12 You see THIS is a good way to humanize Eggman (not the whole sudden daughter thing with Sage). I always figured he had some jealously toward Maria. Him having an inferiority complex is in character for him.
I feel this in itself is a set-up for why he cares about Sage, it is clear from this that his parents neglected him a lot and he probably never had real family. However he always saw his robots as tools up to this point until he created something that seemed human enough in Sage.
Hearing eggman talk about his cousin maria is touching it shows he is in fact more than a villain he was neglected and forgotten after she died and he doesn't hate maria for it which im glad he doesn't he knows its not her fault and thats very heartwarming 😂
I love how the first half is eggman giving more info about the ancients and their relation to chaos while the other half is him trying to not call sage a daughter and shitting on both Sonic and his friends
I really appreciate that it looks like they'll be focusing more on the canon in games from now on, I never would've expected them to reference Shadow the Hedgehog of all games
3:06 for this to be true, it would mean Koco and Chao are the same species. It begs the question as to why some of the ancients became Chao and why some stayed as Koco in the 1st place. Maybe this "radiation" that Eggman mentions didn't affect the Starfall Islands for some odd reason. This also means Chaos, God of Destruction, is indeed an ancient, but one of the those affected by said "radiation". Starting out as a Chao, only to be mutated into something that strongly resembles its ancestors. This also makes a lot of sense considering its role as a guardian of the chaos emeralds and the Chao. Gotta say, I'm loving getting some new lore to tie in to the already existing lore.
They are not the same species. Koco are lucky charms that contain the memories of The Ancients . The Ancients are not Koco, they are aliens that resemble Chaos but taller.
@@boneneedle3360 The Ancients have Koco in their chests. Perhaps thats why they have their memories? If the ancients aren't Koco then they are for sure Chao, as Chaos is a mutated chao who looks just like them. the only difference is that Chaos has a visible brain and no Koco in his chest. they are relatives of him, according to Eggman. @@urbanpwnerishere The koco aren't chao or the ancients. The koco are vessels that hold the memories of the ancients. th-cam.com/video/m0P66v0a68E/w-d-xo.html
they're absolutely not implying the same thing about his childhood here as what they went with in the movies that I'm not a fan of. instead that memo is telling us that Eggman was always egotistcal and felt entitled to all the attention for it, to the point he has no empathy for Maria's tradegy and feels bitterness towards her for the attention he felt he deserved going towards her instead. him being a spoiled attention demanding brat all along is far better and more in character for game Eggman than what the movies went with.
Ian's written Eggman pretty much like he has in the comics. Well maybe a little less crazy. Still, one of the things that's similar is Eggman's respect for the heroes. Namely Tails. He generally recognizes Tails as a man..er...a fox of science so that might be why. Ian did this in the Mega Man comics with Dr Wily too. It really makes the villains that much more interesting when they have a kind side behind all the megalomania.
I found it very interesting makes me wonder how exactly did one of them become chaos perhaps they absorbed chaos energy from the master emerald and became a god?
Considering that Chaos is canonically a mutated Chao, it makes me wonder if the remaining Ancients evolved into chao due to exposure emerald radiation or something along those lines.
@@combatmantis4393 My theory is that the Ancients evolved into Chao over time likely because of their new environment, and mutation causes them to look more like their ancestors
I'm really intrigued to see how Eggman changes as a character, Because one staple of his character, was his narcissism and overinflated ego but now Eggman has begun to care for someone other than himself and this is bound to have an effect on him in the long run.

man this game is full of references to almost all their previous games and the comics!!! the only thing they're missing are references to the cartoons!!!!!!
It seems like they are bringing game Eggman closer to comic Eggman. Eggman in the comics is a bit different. He care a lot more about Metall Sonic in the comics and sort of sees him as his greatest creation and his son at the same time. Although that can get a tad creepy at times like when he ordered Metall Sonic to attack with the words: "Kill for daddy."
4:07 this is the most eggman sounding sound this VO makes... and yet for some reason I hate it. This VO has nailed a new era of eggman for me so much so that I'd rather not think about it all said in old VO eggman.
I wonder how Eggman was able to even get a sample of the Ancients' genetic data even though it was a recorded sample and not an actual real sample since they're extinct
In all honesty, the entire "Eggman genuinely loves Sage" is confusing to me since, well, she's an AI. Hasn't he made multiple before and basically used them as a means to an end? This also reminds me of my gripes with Bowser's character in Origami King. If your main villain is mysteriously and randomly softened up to like your newly introduced character, then there might be an issue with your script lol. Bowser would never give Olivia, someone who has benefited him about as well as Mario's other allies of the week (i.e. very minimally), a heartfelt pep talk, identically to how Eggman shouldn't be genuinely feeling for an AI he created and could therefore manipulate in any way he wanted. It's fine if villains have humanity or redeeming qualms. But such things have to be brought in naturally or consistently. I don't know much about Sonic and I know Ian is a beloved writer, but man he kinda fucked up my egg sir here. It sucks because Mike completely nailed the voice work on the ending too. tldr I'm with you total stranger
Honestly, you can’t deny that Bowser has always had a soft spot for most non-Mario things. Bowser has always been a goofier and softer villain when he’s not mid-scheme. And Eggman getting attached to Sage is also a symptom of him being helpless in Cyber Space with only Sage to protect him, which caused his emotional walls to falter. If he wasn’t trapped, this epiphany about his eluded desire for family likely wouldn’t have surfaced nearly as easily.
As much as I like the egg logs, I'm not really happy with how they deliver you pretty important info in this way. And I had them all unlocked just a few hours into the game. Plus, it feels anticlimactic to have it end on a random one about tails.
@@prufan because of the reused cutscenes they use for that moment. I wanted to feel bad but the scenes they used kinda made me laugh more than anything else.
(btw is there a place you can link me to that says that they are lucky charms?)
@@urbanpwnerishere The koco aren't chao or the ancients. The koco are vessels that hold the memories of the ancients.

0:40 | *Team Sonic Racing canon!?*
Team Sonic Racing has always been canon.
And Sonic Riders, apparently.
This canon timeline is very wierd
@@appleslipper6358 🤡
@@garyconstanza3120 Nah.
Eggman sounds so calm
And he admits that Sonic being fast is impressive, something i didnt expect to hear
Anyone else here listening to 5:11 after watching the Sonic 3 film?
they're absolutely not implying the same thing about his childhood here as what they went with in the movies that I'm not a fan of. instead that memo is telling us that Eggman was always egotistcal and felt entitled to all the attention for it, to the point he has no empathy for Maria's tradegy and feels bitterness towards her for the attention he felt he deserved going towards her instead. him being a spoiled attention demanding brat all along is far better and more in character for game Eggman than what the movies went with.
So nobody is talking about the fact that The Ancients are related to Chaos?
I found it very interesting makes me wonder how exactly did one of them become chaos perhaps they absorbed chaos energy from the master emerald and became a god?
Considering that Chaos is canonically a mutated Chao, it makes me wonder if the remaining Ancients evolved into chao due to exposure emerald radiation or something along those lines.
@@combatmantis4393 My theory is that the Ancients evolved into Chao over time likely because of their new environment, and mutation causes them to look more like their ancestors
Man so much lore in the Sonic Universe. Makes you stop and think

First Nefarious from “a Crack in Time”, and now Eggman in Frontiers…
I'm really intrigued to see how Eggman changes as a character, Because one staple of his character, was his narcissism and overinflated ego but now Eggman has begun to care for someone other than himself and this is bound to have an effect on him in the long run.
TH-cam forced my All Eggman cutscenes compilation for Frontiers into "made for kids" and I'm not sure if it'll be recommended as much now, so be sure to check this out if you haven't th-cam.com/video/EaI0tAuy4Wc/w-d-xo.html
Why do they always do this why. What's their problem
Dave the intern isn't canon and I'd love.to join in.
@@EggEmperor huh what. I didn't ask about dave
I know, Idk if someone deleted their comment or if I replied to the wrong comment. I was really drunk I can't remember what this means either lol

Him being relatively even keeled is crazier than Sonic considering he's Mr Bombastic
4:24 yeah, that's worked so well for Eggman before
Yknow with chaos, dark Gaia, the time eater, the wisps, infinite, the ark, shadow, all went extremely well… for sonic
THIS CAME UP WHEN I SEARCHED ASMR

Egg memo 15: BRUH, YOU’VE LITERALLY FAILED EVERY TIME YOU’VE TRIED THAT
I always thought it was wasted potential that Sonic never got an adventure game like Sam & Max. They could have even gotten a crossover.
YOU GUYS WORK FAST
Thanks for recording with no music+sfx, its nice and crisp
FR Tho.
this makes me want a eggman game where you are lost alone and tool less on a island
Oooo thanks!!
Well happy Father’s Day dr eggman
I knew the ancients had a connection to Chaos
man this game is full of references to almost all their previous games and the comics!!! the only thing they're missing are references to the cartoons!!!!!!
If it weren't for the game's budget, we maybe could've seen those other areas that Eggman said the A.I. pulled from.
5:11 Can I say that this makes me a little sad and wonder about Robotnik's childhood?
4:07 this is the most eggman sounding sound this VO makes... and yet for some reason I hate it.
This VO has nailed a new era of eggman for me so much so that I'd rather not think about it all said in old VO eggman.
My god Sega keep this kind of storytelling going! I love it!
1:56 The Black Arms 😮 Shadow the hedgehog game 😮
Eggman ASMR
I wonder how Eggman was able to even get a sample of the Ancients' genetic data even though it was a recorded sample and not an actual real sample since they're extinct
Oh, thank you for making this.
I guess that means The Riders games and Team Sonic Racing is canon
0:20 G.U.N is canon again(it wasnt after the 06)
No there still there
In all honesty, the entire "Eggman genuinely loves Sage" is confusing to me since, well, she's an AI.
It sucks because Mike completely nailed the voice work on the ending too.
tldr
I'm with you total stranger
I don’t mind the relationship between him and Sage but could have been developed more.
why are the comments turned off on the other eggman video
Because it was set to "made for kids." I have no control over that.

Why where these audio logs instead of cutscenes.
Would've made Sage tearing up less funny.
how was it funny?
@@prufan because of the reused cutscenes they use for that moment.
I wanted to feel bad but the scenes they used kinda made me laugh more than anything else.
