I'm pretty sure Druids are the most unique. They are the only ones who literally change roles by changing forms and actually have 4 specs. Plus, for the longest time, resto druids were the only ones whose main healing output was HotS.

A cat is merely a copy of a rogue, a bear is just a warrior etc. HoTs are unique but overlap already with Renew. Shamans on the other hand was always a hybrid in nature, the class mechanic are totems, the archetype is solely unique onto itself.

Saying cats are the same as rogues because they use the same energy resource is like saying all healers are the same because they all use mana. Bears rely on taking the hit and avoiding the hit. Warriors rely on blocking and parrying, it's two completely different tanking styles. Like I said, resto relies MOSTLY on HoTs, priests don't rely on HoTs at all. The only unique healing a priest has is a bubble, renew is nothing when it comes to the healing output of a priest. You can't compare a spec made mostly from HoTs to a spec that uses one. The only real unique thing shamans have are totems. Druids are the only class that can energy, rage AND mana all in one fight. Shamans have a healing spec, caster dps and melee dps, and druids have all three of those plus a tanking spec.

There’s no real “preexisting class” for a shaman to replicate. A shaman is solely unique in every regard. A Druid’s uniqueness simply just comes from its ability to be a chameleon and replicate other roles.

Alternate theory on the 36% Windfury proc rate: Each weapon gives you an aura that gives you a 20% chance to proc on each hit. Independent probabilities multiply, so two 20% chances per hit yield a 36% overall chance. They then added the cooldown to prevent double procs and reduce your overall proc rate to 20%. Same end result, but coming from a different direction.

Thank god you adressed the value of BS and weapon speeds cause all this time i felt as if i was screaming to a black void when explaining BS is not a oneway street. However, i think there are also somethings you still missed. Both Earthshock and Frostshock are binary spells, meaning they cant partially resist, therefore lacking any +spell hit will cause an absurd amount of resists, making the use of Flameshock mandatory in between earthshocks regardless of spec since its the only shock that can partially resist instead of resisting completely. Moreover the +3% spell hit from resto compensates for the dps loss of the +1s on the shock cd. Also, about Orc Axe spec, the expertise bonuse is huge enough to make the value of Black Planar Edge blow Dragonstrike out of the water, but since probably BS wont be a go-to, and Orcs tend to need axes, apparently equipping a fist weapon on one hand and an axe on another causes the racial expertise to carry over to the fist weapon, while equipping something else (e.g. a mace) wont have the same effect. Therefore the Gladiator Right Ripper becomes a favourite for mainhand for orcs, as long as its equipped together with a 2.6 axe in the offhand

Wouldnt it be easier to say that every buff or talent that increases the nature damage or the damage of a specific spell increases the total damage of the spell after spellpower is applied instead of listing that every buff increases the base damage and spellpower coefficient? Feels like a lot of words are used for basically: Your talents scale with the total damage of a spell instead of just the base damage.
Theres a contradiction in the Elemental Profession section. Melderon says, and I quote "If you were thinking about going tailoring for elemental, just don't". However Egregious's guide on Phase 1 pre-raid BIS does include Spellstrike pants. No, you don't need Tailoring to equip it. But if you were thinking about making them yourself for P1 to save coin, or were thinking about going Spellstrike Hood as well incase you got unlucky on a Hood of Oblivion, then you will also gain the spellpower set bonus proc. Also note that Spellstrike Hood is better than Hood of Oblivion if you dont have a Chaotic Skyfire Diamond.

But if the ICD on flurry charges is 0.5 seconds, as said in the video, will you not get one hit pr. hand pr. flurry charge, as long as your weapons are less than 0.5 speed apart? Thats what i understood at least from the description of "synced" weapons - they dont have to be an exact match, just within 0.5 of each other. Weapons of exactly the same speed is only important if you intend to "stagger" your attacks. If you dont stagger, mismatched weapons are better?
For any1 else wondering this - watch the video in description. Melderon keeps mixing up the terms synced and staggering. When he explains "how to stagger", he is actually explaining how to sync. The video explains it more precisely: right-clicking before you engage will sync your weapons to attack close to each other, making your attacks land within the 0.5 flurry ICD. You can then use the macro to also stagger them correctly, meaning the MH attacks ahead of the OH
Looking to find out if Rockbiter weapon still affects Attack Power for the purposes of increasing Mental Quickness effectiveness. I recognize that WF and FT are the better dps, but Im just curious about RB.

Alright I got a stupid question. I get that fights may get longer and that makes mana an issue but I've been chucking point blank chain lightning in dungeons. I'm level 64. So flame shock dual wield auto attack, storm strike, windfury proc, chain lightning, earth shock, check totem (magma and such), storm strike, flame shock, check totems, stormstrike ,chain lightning , earth shock. I eventually do a bloodfury shamanistic rage before stormstrike CL earth shock. Amongst my concerns is if the casting fills the swing timer to keep the flurry synch. Chain lightning isn't a part of our given rotation. My weapons are 2.6 speed. Do the fights just get longer in higher dungeons or raids? If I'm fully geared with ap strength does the melee just beat out the chain lightning? Someone had to have thought this was a good idea before. Thanks for any input.
I'm interested to see how this sync/stagger stuff ends up working out. I mean sure it gives you a dps increase if you're executing it perfectly on a dummy, but how will that translate to a raid environment? If you have to move around, switch targets etc I'm not sure it will be as easy. For example what if you have to step away from a boss to get sync, then come back in range to attack. Does the dps increase make up for not hitting the boss for a moment? Sure if you only do it once, but what if that happens multiple times. I have a feeling also that people who want to be sweaty but don't actually have the required skill level will tunnel on their sync/stagger and get distracted from properly supporting their party with totems.
30:50 is wrong you can proc windfury in ghost wolf in classic it was a major part of my pvp strategy since people dont attack ghost wolves most of the time

Yeah I cruised through the 40's with this. AOE cap will definitely make it a lot slower but still doable I guess. It's a shame, it would have made shaman in line with mages as it didn't slow them down too much anyway
Kaz'Rogal wants LB spam. You gotta murder him, but he drops marks on everyone that drain 3000 mana over 5 seconds. If someone goes OOM, they explode for a fuckton of damage.
What about windfury totem on a mainhand and winfury on an offhand? Although its half value, its not on the icd and it can proc off your offhand wf crits and off of itself.
@@manimal9871 although, you have access to both windfuries simultaneously. You trade 16% proc chance for the better windfury for 20% chance on either weapon, one weapon version and one totem version. Ive done the napkin math and with a 2.6 speed weapon and only auto attacking, you miss out on 2 main hand swings per minute going the totem route. So yeah theoretically you can take a gamble with the totem as its not on an icd but its statistically not worth it.
Even if you was doing 2,000 dps a second. 2% of that is 40 more damage per second...By doing this you would go form 2,000 to 2,040 damage per second. It's not even worth fooling with. In phase 1 if you're doing 1000-1200 dps a second by doing this you would gain 20-24 more dps. Even if it is easy to do on trash it's definitely not worth it ever. On bosses is it worth doing to gain such a small dps increase, well that's up to you. You do not need to watch that video to excel at ENH dps lmao. Watch the video if you wanna learn about it and know more information sure, that's what I did. However it's not needed, as long as you use two slow weapons with WF/WF and do your rotation correctly you will be fine. Saying you need to understand how to gain 2% more dps to excel is a little insane. Also Harvester of Souls is NOT better than Black Planar Edge and Dragonmaw. Not sure why he said that. That is straight up false. Those are mainhand weapons. Harvester of Souls is NOT a better MH weapon than either of those which also is literally showed on the list in his own video. Harverster of Souls is imo the best off hand AXE outside of arena/pvp weapons.

lol what do you mean no1 will do that? its a big dps upgrade for the shaman too and the rotation has plenty of room for it. you must be new if you think no1 is gonna do totem twisting, its been a part of the game forever really. its super easy too. thing with classic is no1 twists because of mana issues which are fixed with tbc.

I mean sure it gives you a dps increase if you're executing it perfectly on a dummy, but how will that translate to a raid environment? If you have to move around, switch targets etc I'm not sure it will be as easy. For example what if you have to step away from a boss to get sync, then come back in range to attack. Does the dps increase make up for not hitting the boss for a moment? Sure if you only do it once, but what if that happens multiple times. I have a feeling also that people who want to be sweaty but don't actually have the required skill level will tunnel on their sync/stagger and get distracted from properly supporting their party with totems.

30:50 is wrong you can proc windfury in ghost wolf in classic it was a major part of my pvp strategy since people dont attack ghost wolves most of the time
That's completely incorrect. You could on Pservers but not in Classic. I just tested it again

Yeah I cruised through the 40's with this. AOE cap will definitely make it a lot slower but still doable I guess. It's a shame, it would have made shaman in line with mages as it didn't slow them down too much anyway

Is Windfury weapon change a nerf to 2h for pvp? No extra weapon swings means less flurry procs..
Worst thing for me is they tbc animation of Wf, classic had the nice fade that you also see on thunder fury proc.

Hey the link for the resto shaman written guide has been broken for a while now. Has it been moved elsewhere or is there a fix coming?
What about windfury totem on a mainhand and winfury on an offhand? Although its half value, its not on the icd and it can proc off your offhand wf crits and off of itself.
It’s still a net dps loss as the winfury totem imbue is pretty dogshit and has less attacks on proc than the real weapon enchant
@@manimal9871 although, you have access to both windfuries simultaneously. You trade 16% proc chance for the better windfury for 20% chance on either weapon, one weapon version and one totem version.
Ive done the napkin math and with a 2.6 speed weapon and only auto attacking, you miss out on 2 main hand swings per minute going the totem route. So yeah theoretically you can take a gamble with the totem as its not on an icd but its statistically not worth it.
Even if you was doing 2,000 dps a second. 2% of that is 40 more damage per second...By doing this you would go form 2,000 to 2,040 damage per second. It's not even worth fooling with. In phase 1 if you're doing 1000-1200 dps a second by doing this you would gain 20-24 more dps. Even if it is easy to do on trash it's definitely not worth it ever. On bosses is it worth doing to gain such a small dps increase, well that's up to you. You do not need to watch that video to excel at ENH dps lmao. Watch the video if you wanna learn about it and know more information sure, that's what I did. However it's not needed, as long as you use two slow weapons with WF/WF and do your rotation correctly you will be fine. Saying you need to understand how to gain 2% more dps to excel is a little insane. Also Harvester of Souls is NOT better than Black Planar Edge and Dragonmaw. Not sure why he said that. That is straight up false. Those are mainhand weapons. Harvester of Souls is NOT a better MH weapon than either of those which also is literally showed on the list in his own video. Harverster of Souls is imo the best off hand AXE outside of arena/pvp weapons.

@@Fleimas That's because you should never twist as Resto (unless you are terribly bored) or Ele and there were basically no enh Shaman in Vanilla. Also the 1s GCD in TBC makes it so easy
lol what do you mean no1 will do that? its a big dps upgrade for the shaman too and the rotation has plenty of room for it. you must be new if you think no1 is gonna do totem twisting, its been a part of the game forever really. its super easy too. thing with classic is no1 twists because of mana issues which are fixed with tbc.
