Hi Andrae, if you mean Benin as in Bénin Republic, the answer is no. Edo language is spoken in Edo State in Nigeria. And the capital of Edo State is called Benin City. It has nothing to do with Benin the country.
@Blessing Itua: No, Esan is an Edoid Language. I wouldn't say it's an Edo dialect though but both languages are very similar grammatically. The biggest difference lies in their phonology (i.e. sounds) and pitches on vowels (i.e. high, middle or low). I'd recommend the website learn esan dot com (you'd have to write it as a link).

Let's connect good
I believe this will help me and please add me to the online class. Egbewawomen, people just speaking Edo & I am just looking. I felt ashamed.
I like so much your lessons but I'm from Mali 🇲🇱 I don't understand your language
Mastermind Van Mastermind Van I’m glad that you’re here. If I may ask, how did you come across my channel?
Thank you so much for tuning to this channel...
'The Grace' in Edo language, I need that please
Hi Presley, I honestly do not know the grace in Edo language. Well, I've never had to say it in Edo before but I'm sure I can find it if I do some research. Christ Apostolic Church of God is what comes to my mind. They speak proper Edo language there...atleast while I was living in Nigeria.
@@edolanguageinstitute yeah I thought about reaching out to my members there but I've not ask any yet. It was my church back home. But thanks for the response✌️
@@Presleyt9 Oh then I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏾 and let me know if you eventually find it. It would be interesting to read. 😊
@@paulenenche8127 Scamers, You're using a God's anointed man's name to do online fraud and you think there won't be consequences? You're attracting God's wrath to yourself
@Pressley Osasuyi: Thanks for your concern. I've blocked him/her. This person has been spamming my comment section for the past 5 hours. I even had a viewer reach out to me via email with screenshot of the multiple comments from this troubled troll. Good riddance!
i would like you to translate the response in English as well.
Is Edo spoken in Nigeria as well as Benin?
Hi Andrae, if you mean Benin as in Bénin Republic, the answer is no.
Edo language is spoken in Edo State in Nigeria. And the capital of Edo State is called Benin City. It has nothing to do with Benin the country.
Edo Language Institute ok thank you
Is edo language including Esan too??
@Blessing Itua: No, Esan is an Edoid Language. I wouldn't say it's an Edo dialect though but both languages are very similar grammatically. The biggest difference lies in their phonology (i.e. sounds) and pitches on vowels (i.e. high, middle or low). I'd recommend the website learn esan dot com (you'd have to write it as a link).
@@edolanguageinstitute okay, I know it sounds very similar. many thanks
@@blessingitua8204 you're welcome.
Just joined seeing the title
Good day ma please can I get your contact
We are doing cultural day and I was asked to write edo history in edo language and am not from edo state please help me just a brief history of edo kingdom
Hi! How do you say love in edo? I wanted to get it tatted my mom is Yoruba and I grew up in a Yoruba household since my dad died I wanted to get it tattooed. My edo friend said there’s no absolute way to say love alone rather “odomeh & oyemeh”
TOTOKILLZ First of all, thanks for leaving s comment. I know I’m responding super late to your question. Here is what I propose: I‘ll answer this question on the community section of my channel before the end of this week. That way, many others can benefit from it because I get asked this question very often.
you can say “Ife” because that’s love in Yoruba
@@__.nikkiii1920 She explicitly asked about the word in Edo not Yoruba. I'm quite sure she knows what Ife means, given that she grew up in a Yoruba household. Don't you think so?
Imagine how these people were working with mathematical operations in the past. They were great mathematicians. I always come here to tap some knowledge.
Wow! I was blown away after watching one of your videos in which you explained the difference between love and like in Bini Language. Pardon my question! Is there a Bini Bible or are plans afoot to do that by you? Also, are there plans to add the Bini Language to Google Translation, so it becomes one of the universal languages? I await your response asap. By the way, I am a Bini man too. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I want to learn Yoruba and Edo
My morning greeting is "Layeou"
I've heard that one before...actually quite a lot while I was in Benin City. 😊
My familly also great latose i guess we are related💋
jenice Isibor I guess so too 😂
How do I recite John 3:16 in Edo language? :D
Unfortunately, I do not know. I do know that there is an Edo translation of the christian bible. However, I do not own a copy. You'll find a few excerpts and audio resources online, though.
My family greeting is lamogun! Maybe your moms father is from my area lol
You might be right 😉
My dear sister l am lost with colours. What is green in Edo language?
Emu Ebe-Oha (pronounced Eboha).
Pls I need the spelling of Godwin in edo language
Godwin? I'm not sure we have that in Edo Language. And I'd suggest we stop translating foreign names one-to-one. Languages don't always work like that.

@@edolanguageinstitute hi do you have any lessons for kids ?
Please what's the meaning of the Names Esigie and Ehigie in Edo language?
Ehi mean spirit or guardian angel
gie mean sent
Ehigie mean spirit sent or sent by a guardian angel.
Ehimwen mean my spirit. It can also mean my guardian angel.
So you are from latose and lamogun clan? I’m from Eze clan; I greet lavbieze. Both my family are Eze clan
My maternal grandmother greeted Lavbieze as well. So when I was with her, that's what I'd greet in the morning.

Is Benin Edo language or is that different
Rex Flores Yes it's the same. Ẹdo language is what non-Ẹdo people refer to as Bini or Benin.
@@edolanguageinstitute thank you very much
@@edolanguageinstitute I also believe Edo are the People and Benin/Bini describes Edo person and their place.
Thanks
Free4 Christ Emwanta Edo people do not refer to themselves as bini/benin when they are speaking Edo language. Ovbiẹdo ẹ r' I khin (I am an Edo person) OR Ovbiẹdo nọ (He/She is an Edo person). Bini is only used by non-Edo people to refer to us OR when we Edo people are speaking English.
