Rabelais wrote the bawdiest, funniest, book to come out of the 16th century. It totally holds up. If you enjoy my reviews, check out my own writing at: www.amazon.com/...
Rabelais is my hero in life and the inspiration for much of what I do. I would say to anyone unfamiliar with Rabelais, "Drink up you noble boozers!" Imbibe in Rabelais
I just got this book, haven't cracked it open yet. I will be reading it right after Rebecca by Du Maurier. Strange turn of events, this video being suggested to me.
Aldous Huxley wrote in his essays that he admired Rabeläis as he intentionally wanted our public vernacular to change and wanted what a "Pantagruel" is to be lost. Do as though will shall be the whole of the law.
General feedback from one bibliophile to another. 1. A 40 second intro is way too long. 2. I have just finished Dom Quixote, and it is so much fun ! This has led me to G and P, which I have just downloaded from audible, so your review has been really helpful.
Thanx to you and the review of Rabelais I’m now starting the novel.
English speaking student on exchange in France and studying Gargantua at school. Very helpful

Thanks, Rabelais was a favorite of Henry Miller and he derived his own personal motto "Always merry and bright!" from Rabelais
Also a great fan of Rabelais was Aleister Crowley who derived HIS motto "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law".
Thank you, great analysis.
The bearded cover drawing looks like the presenter?
Gustave Dore illustrations too!
Comparing me to a Gustave Dore engraving is the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.
