Writing in the darkest shade honestly made me tear up. I work in optometry and we lose our colour distinction as we get older, I have so so many patients who can't see the world the way they used to. Little touches like that are what make something special.
I did the powerpoint at church for a while. At one point I asked grandma and the other old ladies for feedback. You bet those were the most contrasted largest font that would fit slides after that.
I work at a airport checking people in, I’ve seen all different age groups travel but when I tell you there was this old man and his wife that walked straight up to my desk, no help, carrying their own bags, I would never have guessed they were both born in 1925 and 1926 only 2 years off 100!! The "home girl won't make it" concern is very real, I feel ya'. My Granda passed away just two days before his 97th birthday. We still picked up the cake tho, then sent our prayer, blow candles, and eat it while crying tears and snot. I had the bakery remove the happy birthday and change it to "So long, Grandpa! Thank you for everything".
My grandma passed away a few years ago and her name was Violet. She always had her teacup and saucer which had her name and a painting of a violet on it and she would never drink tea from any other cup/mug. She even took it with her to the hospital and one of the last things she did before she passed was drink tea from her teacup. I now have her teacup sat on my windowsill.

People really need to stop being so offended by the "homegirl might not make it" comment. Old people make plenty of jokes about their own death. They care about it way less than younger people. And she didn't say she hoped for it, she was worrying about it. Death can happen at any time. Dark humor is a way to vent and cope with fear.

The amount of people upset about her being CONCERNED AND WORRIED for her client making it to her 100th bday is ridiculous. It's not like she wished her harm, or she said that she doubt she'll make it or made a bunch of jokes about her not making it. No she was just honest that she's a paranoid person and part of her is legitimately concerned that homegirl won't make it and then on top of that even said that she felt bad and should be more positive. Despite my lack of grieving over any death in my family(they're extremely messed up towards each other and tortured me like an author tortures their OC.) I still feel very deep heart break over small sad stories in my head or thinking of my own characters going through what I did with friendships etc. So I still understand the worry of her dying before seeing the cake.
The way you did that perfect caligraphy is just crazy. Hope they pay you well because this is actual artistry.
Cursive or handwriting ... Not calligraphy but you are right, she did a beautiful job
It's called cursive or handwriting not calligraphy. But you are right she did a beautiful job!
I'm sorry but i'm not wrong. Calligraphy is the art of producing beautiful handwriting.
@peachez007express damn it hurt you that bad you had to tell her twice in 2 different ways 😂

My great grandma died like 12 hours after she turned 100, so the concern is valid. With people that old they can seem fine (or as fine as someone that old could be) one minute and dead the next.

I once had a cake thrown in my face because I used “the wrong shade of lavender.”
People seriously need to appreciate their cake decorators more
Wtf is "the wrong shade of lavender"
Like it's literally a shade of purple like it's a SHADE
I hope I never have to meet a this-level-of-crazy customer😂
That goes beyond cake decorator appreciation and to "what is wrong with people?!" 🤦🏻♀️

Happy 100th birthday Violet!!
And thank you for sharing your gorgeous creation with us. Your handwriting in icing is flawless! Love the purple theme for violet! You should be more positive. Youre very talented and anyone would be honored to share this perfect cake with their friends and relatives. May Gos bless you and violet too!❤🎉
I love custard. It’s essentially pudding. In technicals and “well, actuallys” it isn’t, but close enough.
The cake looks amazing and your handwriting is off the charts girl!!!
The fact the handwriting is absolutely perfect and it’s written with icing piping is amazing.
My great grandma lived until her late 90s and was one of the most energetic people I knew before she got sick. Proud of Violet
❤Beutiful handwriting !
Aw this video and cake was so wholesome tysm u made my whole day ❤
That was SO thoughtful of you to make the writing dark so she could see it . Older people everywhere salute you
People really need to stop being so offended by the "homegirl might not make it" comment. Old people make plenty of jokes about their own death. They care about it way less than younger people. And she didn't say she hoped for it, she was worrying about it. Death can happen at any time. Dark humor is a way to vent and cope with fear.
yeah people are being too uppity in my opinion
Old people can joke that way. She shouldn’t try to be funny about her client’s death.
@@ieatgremlins she wasn’t being funny, she was voicing a concern in a light hearted way. id worry too just from caring, and also for the family as well.

It's really the icing on the cake 😍🤭
Now that's what I call talent.
She makes the most beautiful cakes
I love how the black swirls in the middle all look like hearts. 💙💙💙
How beautiful. My mother died making a cake she was 81 years old. My father found her laying on the floor in the kitchen and the mixer was still going. She had a brain aneurysm and died instantly doing what she loved doing most.
That's how I want to go, with the mixer still going. RIP to your mom Xo
Sad & beautiful too. She’s baking in heaven now ♥️
@@paigeb1318 My mother made thousands of cakes. She baked everyday. She made hundreds of wedding cakes. Everybody knew about her baking for miles around. And she got orders everyday, she would make everybody's birthday cakes. She made beautiful roses and she had beautiful handwriting. She had such fear of having a long painful drawn-out death and she died instantly, probably within minutes. Her name was Josephine but everybody called her Jo or Josie.

I love yoir energy for her birthday. ❤️😊
If this was my grandma she was talking about I'd be like "SAME GIRL IM WORRIED TOO" like come on y'all are twisting her words and being extremely sensitive. It's an concern anyone would especially it being their 100th birthday.
Yeah it's basically
Right intentions
Wrong message
P R E A C H
Fr like 90+ 'can' be a very critical age
Concern and worry ≠ unprofessional comments about her client "making it that far".

Oh my gosh !!! I want that cake, soooo bad. ❤️. A cake filled with custard ? Woooo hoo !!! You’re a legend in your own, err, kitchen LoL 😻🥳. Kudos to you. 👍 👌🌈
I was a live in for an elderly lady. She was completely independent, but living alone. So her family hired me basically to be there in the evenings and overnight when visitors werent coming over. Just in case soemthing happened, I would be there to help. She was 92 yrs old. Sometimes, if she didnt wake up when she usually does I would come listen by her door to see if she was breathing. Sometimes I worried that she would go to bed and just not wake up. Eventually, I got married and moved out. She did die not to long after. Went to sleep and never woke up.
💕
