Plus they discuss LeBron James crossing 40k career points, and if the Boston Celtics are the best team in the NBA.

The LeBron/MJ debate (for me) always revolves around the idea that I have watched them both play their entire careers and I can only remember a handful of games where I felt LBJ was unstoppable or inevitable. As in, if LeBron got stopped it was because he chose it for other people to get their shine or whatever. Jordan, even regular season games were must-watch because it was inevitable that I would see something I had never seen before and that he would eventually win because his competitive nature was visibly fierce. I respect both personalities and skill sets, but Jordan often won when he shouldn't have, and usually won when he was picked to. He always seemed to play angry and slighted. LeBron, he sometimes won when he wasn't supposed to, and sometimes won when he was picked to. Watching Jordan (even in his Wizards years) felt more like watching Tiger or what watching Mahomes is like today - there was always that possibility of magic or the unbelievable happening regardless of the game situation. My experience watching LeBron in games is akin to watching a dad playing against his kids in the driveway - he is casually better than everyone and he could probably play that way forever. But it isn't the same as watching a smaller guy beating big guys, sometimes from sheer determination. LeBron is the best to ever do it, but to me Jordan is the GREATEST to ever do it. There's also an element of many LeBron fans didn't watch Jordan, but all Jordan fans have watched LeBron.

Mj was iconic. But the goat debate isnt about who you like. It's about the greatest player. Mj succeeded when the bulls were clearly the best team. From 57W with mj they went to 55W without him. Is this the gOaT effect? He had the greatest European player as a 6th man?
Do you knoe that only 6 players in nba playoff history belong to the 3k pounts 1k reb1k assists - lbj, magic, bird, kobe, mj and his teammate PIPPEN...
On the other hand lebron based his domination in himself. He went go 10 finals, 9 in ten years. He won 4, while being the favourite 3 times. Bulls won 6 out of the 6 times they were the favourites. Lebron no matter what(injuries teammates) thrived. It's a team sport and the better team wins finals. But the goat debate is whose the better individual that impacted winning and of course not mine or yours favourite player. He matched mj games 7 years ago and right now he is the 5th most valuable player behind Shai,Giannis,Jokic and Brundson according to estimated wins and estimated +-... Lebron did it better and for way longer. Am sorry but facts over feelings and nostalgic narratives and myths. I ve watched both a lot. I ve questioned both. Facts indicate that lbj is better

@@michaelvasquez2726 that shows how irrelevant you are in ball knowledge. On that finals lebron had 3 bad games. He faced a zone defence that mj couldn't face thanks to illegal defence. The only time mj faced a good defender was vs Sonics when in games 4,5,6 was guarded by payton. 1v1 cause of the illegal d. On those games mj had 4) 6/19→31%fg 5) missed 3 consecutive clutch shots to seal the deal and in 6) he had 5/19 and fg 29% and he still won the fmvp. The difference between those two 3 bad stretches is that on lebrons case his teammates & coach came up short at responding to that zone. In mjs case rodman in game 6 had 19 offensive rebs and Pippen and Kukoc hit consecutive clutch 3s

Seriously, people need to go compare his career stats to the other QBs who have played. 9x Pro Bowl (12th most all-time), 9 playoff wins (top 20 all-time, and same # as Brees, McNabb, Starr, Kelly, Warner, and more than Eli or Marino), top 20 in passing yards, 13th in touchdowns, and he has 2 super bowl appearances with 1 win, which puts him in rare company already (only ~20 QBs have made it to multiple super bowls and won at least 1). He's basically a top 20 QB all-time. It's HARD to be a good QB in the NFL. I tried to make a top 100 list and you're starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel by the time you hit #70 or so. You start getting to guys like Testaverde, Joe Flacco, Matt Hasselbeck, and Kerry Collins a LOT sooner than you think. Wilson should get in, imho.

The peak between Jordan (1989) and Bron (2013 and 2018) is close, even though I would say Jordan’s peak was higher but there is no conversation about Longevity and being great for a long time. The LeBron MJ debate is probably one of the dumbest conversations of all time… Two different players, who did two different things who played in two different errors and are both great whether you put one as the best and the other is the second best I don’t think that’s a knock on anyoneI got to watch both, but I’ll say this there was a Jordan rule because people thought they could stop him. There’s no such thing as a LeBron rule in his prime that man went to the rack people got out-of-the-way… Just saying love both players though don’t understand why you guys wanna make war over two great athletes.

How can you compare Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Michael played in an era where basketball was combined with rugby. LeBron plays where you have very little defense and traveling is encouraged. Longevity is easier to accomplish when you’re not having guys tackling you on the court.

Lebron has been unfairly maligned by people who say he isn’t clutch and would rather pass it than take the last shot or go to the free throw line.
But he’s the second best passer I’ve ever seen, and is a pretty mid free throw shooter. Lebron makes the right basketball play.
What makes Jordan the GOAT imo, is that he didn’t make the right basketball play every time. A super ball dominant 2 guard had never been a recipe for success. That wasn’t winning basketball. But he took that “bad brand” of basketball, and forced it into greatness and two three-peats. It’s unbelievable.

I think Nick hit the Lebron thing perfectly. I still think Jordan was better, but to say that people gave Jordan a pass on his late career is an understatement. Also, would Jordan and Pippen have been able to stop GSW with prime Seth, Durant, and Clay? Lebron came back against the team from a 3-1 deficit that has the most wins in NBA history. Is Jordan better at his peak? Yes. Best closer, period. Has Lebron had the best career start to finish? Yes.

The one point I would make to Nick is that there are so many people like myself who view MJ and Lebron as the two greatest ever. We think MJ had the higher peak years and so is the greatest player we've ever seen. Lebron has the undoubted longevity and so has had the greatest CAREER we've ever seen. They both go on the All-time starting 5 in the NBA. It doesn't have to be a either/or scenario as far as evaluating these two in the GOAT discussions.

Nick Wright will argue till he’s blue in the face that LeBron‘s longevity is what proves he is better than Mike. The same Nick right will turn around and then say because Magic was able to do so much in such a short time. Then he is obviously greater than players like Kobe and Tim Duncan. Nick Wright cares about longevity only when it suits him.

This isn't even counting all of Jordan's accolades which trounce LeBron and it's not even close.
There's a reason why 100% of polls have Jordan as the GOAT.

He has no market; he would not lower himself to teams that are open to him because he's cheap for one year; he won't be cheap the year after and will not be a back-up. That next team needs to accommodate him with a multi-year plan for him to come.
