  • FIRST DRIVE: The Accord is redesigned for 2023 and Honda wants to dominate the Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5 & Nissan Altima. On the outside of the Touring trim you will notice silver accents, unique 19in wheels and LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by a leather interior, new 12.3in infotainment display, and standard size sunroof. Powering the Accord Touring is a 2.0L inline-4 pared with (2) electric motors to produce 204HP. Is the NEW 2023 Honda Accord Touring a sedan WORTH the PRICE?

Just purchased 2023 Accord EX-L. Took a 500 mile trip using Econ mode and averaged 47 mpg. Could have gotten better if I hadn’t monkeyed around with other modes in between. The acoustic feedback was funny to me in sport mode. It really did enhance the experience for me. All in all, I love this car.

Styling is actually pretty sleek and modern. I think the fact that the Accord is moving away from performance to focus on comfort, practicality, fuel efficiency, and luxury is a great thing. As the first car released under the rebranded 2023 Accord, it’s not a bad hybrid at all. I will say for a car that is moving more towards comfort and luxury, the seats leave a lot to be desired, and the camera system is underwhelming. Those are the only two things that disappointed me about this car, and those have become staples in other cars, so that could be a deal breaker for some.

I bought the 2023 Accord Hybrid EX-L just over a month ago. I wanted the "Touring", but just couldn't get the monthly payments down low enough, even with a hefty down payment. I decided to go with the EX-L, as other than the wheel size and a few "extras" that I can easily live without - although the Bose speakers would have been nice! -- they are essentially the same car.
I don't care what some say about how the 2023 Accord is "a step back", that it "doesn't look sporty" -- I don't care. Coming from my 2010 Accord, THIS new version is like riding in a Cadillac. I love the "tech" - the automatic braking and lane assist (whatever it's called) do work quite well. However, the camera that is mounted above the rearview mirror sometimes has trouble "seeing" the lanes on the highways if they are faced or obscured by rain.
To be honest, I don't even notice that the wheels are 17" and not 19". It equates to somewhat improved MPG which is part of the reason I wanted a hybrid to begin with.

Hey Joe, thanks for reviewing this Accord-- it influenced my decision to buy one (and I share many of your observations regarding power/accel/overtaking). However, I always wanted to have a town car, like my dad. Sedans are 16% of the market. Type R? Great. CTV Blackwing? Also, great. They could always throw a turbo on this in later years, but I prefer the more reliable, efficient, and slower, NA engine. There's an elegance to a car that isn't trying to be something it isn't-- this accomplishes that. I think Honda knows that there are plenty of people who would love a traditional Ford or Cadilliac sedan but don't have the option anymore. I will personally test the chalupa and calzone capacity, soon. All the best

I loved the older 278hp 2017 V6 Honda Accord’s and even the 252hp 2018 2.0T Accords that used to win drag races against Ecoboom Mustangs; but if this pitiful 192hp is all they got that’s not a hybrid, then I am no longer on the market for an Accord, and the Accord is dead to me.

The back end is the problem - not feeling it. The interior like other new Hondas are fine but for the amount you're spending on the top trims, they're always lacking in many areas where it's nonsensical. And in Canada at least, the pricing is nuts. I get it, supply chain etc....makes you wonder over the next 18 months if that is going to remain a valid "excuse." Can;t wait for you test drive the new Camry, which I think is probably the better buy. As usual, great review Joe and gang.

Having Accord from the past my concerns are:
1)Is it quieter inside? How well insulated is it?
2)Can you turn off that nonsense of engine sound channeling through speakers?

      1) It is
      2) In the 10th Gen TypeR it could be done by unplugging a wire behind the glovebox. I hope this one is similar.

I loved the killer look of the 10th Gen better but the new info screen looks killer. In still torn on the wire mesh on the dash look. We'll see if my wife upgrades her 2017 Hybrid Touring.

curious about what all is displayed in the HUD. I know current speed, speed limit, nav directions, etc... but does it include incoming phone call info? Music info? etc.

Only one question, will the In-N-Out double-double with fries "animal style" fit in the center counsel storage compartment?

      I think that is doable!

I’m sure you have tried, but I was thinking maybe there is a way to control that sound on the sport mode coming through the Bose sound system or perhaps HONDA could program it into the system, because as you said that’s a major Zonk

Just purchased one 2 days ago, so can't I really give a full review. I agree it should have a panoramic sunroof and 360 degree camera. I just discovered it does not have a built in garage door opener feature. That should be included on a car of this price range. We live in a gated community and a house with an electronic garage door. I now need 2 remotes to get to my home. Ride seems comfortable and it is very quiet. Like the large screen and Google maps, but still learning how to use all the features available.
