Starting a Sims YouTube Channel: Guide to YouTube Tools and growing from 0 Subscribers

- I’ve had mixed feelings on whether to make this video or not, but in the end I figured what the heck! I noticed a fair amount of my subscribers have youtube channels of their own and I see new channels appear all the time in Facebook groups.
When I first started my TH-cam Channel I was constantly looking for videos that gave advice for new youtubers and the things that I should consider when starting a sims youtube channel in 2020. There are lots of videos out there for starting a youtube channel in general, but only a handful that are specific to gaming/The Sims!
I’m definitely no expert in this field, however I wanted to make this video because I’m sure there are people like me who are starting up their youtube channel and are looking for a little advice on getting the ball rolling.

I love this video. You're right. Most of the "how to grow your channel" doesn't apply to Simmers, but thanks to you, you uploaded one of the few how to's. I am a new channel as well and I can tell you that it is hard, but I think if you love what you're doing, I think it'll be worth it. But yeah, numbers are important as well >_< I'm struggling

Thanks so much for this, it's hard to find guides on your specific area. I started my sims channel a few months ago, I mostly do 1 hour builds that I stream on Twitch, and yes I agree, only do it as a hobby, which is what I do :)

I just now seen this video I love that you are helping others out!! I love that in the TH-camrs I watch!! Makes me watch them more. I myself try to help while filming I have even helped another TH-camr with some things.I try to be frequent on peoples videos because in reality if we all helped each other we could all be monetized, but some people can be quite selfish in that regard, I love that we arent!!

Thank you so much for making this video! Like you said in the beginning there are tons of videos about starting a TH-cam channel but most of them don't apply to Sims channels. I've watched so many and thought "but how can I use this on my channel?" I'm doing all the things you have suggested. I need to have a bigger presence in the community but other than that I'm doing it all. So far I have 9 videos uploaded and one scheduled to upload on my normal upload day. My channel has been up for almost 2 months but I've only had 100 views and the watch time is less than 3 hours. I swear people are only watching for a min or 2. I don't know how to get them to watch longer.

thank you for this. i just started like last week and i'm still lost. lol. i can't make a concrete schedule bc i have an on call job which sucks but keeps me alive and i'm thinking about making speed builds and LPs, but i dont like my voice, and the only mic i have and can afford is the mic connected to earphones 😂 i was thinking of making this channel for months and now here i am... lost 😂

I noticed that same first thing you mentioned! I like to look at channels & go to their vid list & sort from older > newest because I like to see how long they've been around. And I also noticed too that it takes around a year of constant uploading to start seeing results
Hahaha I forget constantly to take a screenshot when something interesting happens in my game for the thumbnails! 😆
Yeah, it may seem like a real slow burner at first, but it'll pick up if you consistently upload. good luck!

Tysm for this video!! Even tho it’s 2y old, Iv been wanting to make a Sims4 TH-cam channel for a while and iv finally built up enough confidence to do so, here soon. I am having a little bit of trouble deciding on what type of gaming computer to get though. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what type of computer to get that will hold the game itself, the expansion packs, and all the mods? Thank you for this video. I have been looking for sims videos talking about how to get started. The only thing I think that is left for me is a name, which is where I am having the hardest time, I don't know what I want to go by or what I want my channel to be called 😂😅
I myself am a bit confused how to "niche" my channel ( I will be creating a whole new channel, and attaching my wattspad page for people to read stories) and I am a dream catcher creator, and I love to review games/mods/ etc I don't really have a niche, I was thinking trying to post a few different ones and seeing which takes off easier? Or maybe just having a channel that is like a Jack of All trades lol I do way to many things to just put myself in a box (paint, create dream catchers, draw/portraits, gamer, movie lover, crafty for sure and puzzles)

This video is unique. I've also seen tons of videos on how to grow a TH-cam channel and a lot of it doesn't apply to gaming or the Sims. I make content because I like to tell stories.

Hey ✨ Thanks for the good advices ! I find it hard to be consistent but that's one key to success. If you can make a video on how to be consistent, how to plan all the process of making one video, it will be so helpful. Each of my videos takes me like minimum of 20 hours of work 🤣 Donno what's wrong with me.

Great tutorial for TH-cam Sims game beginners. Almost none have a tutorial for us who deal with the Sims game and I am very grateful to you for that. My question is, do you still work with Camtasia because these videos look great?🐞🎬🤩 ❤️
Thank you! i'm glad it was useful! yes I do still use Camtasia for screen recording and editing, however from what I remember it was quite pricey, there are loads of free editing and recording software too, like OBS.

I made a second video which I thought was decent. It has a mixture of commentary with some animated scenes of the sims with voice acting. But now that I see the views it makes me doubt myself.
